  • This study aimed to identify the effects of adolescents' perceived risk on fashion brand conformity behavior. To analyze conformable fashion brand behavior with consideration to their reference group, 6 dimensions of perceived risk were adopted as explanatory variables. Reference group means people that a person refers to when evaluating his values & behaviors. Data were collected from 672 male and female students aged between 14 and 18. Factor analysis on perceived risk resulted in 6 dimensional structures: socio-psychological, time loss, functional, fashionability loss, performance and opportunity loss risk. Fashionability loss risk positively affected adolescent fashion brand conformity behavior according to their favorite celebrities. Performance risk positively affected in consideration to their parents, while opportunity loss risk had a negative effect on the same reference group. However, socio-psychological and fashionability loss risk positively affected adolescent fashion brand conformity behavior in consideration to their friends, while performance loss risk had negative effect on the same reference group. Adolescent groups divided by the 6 dimensions of perceived risk showed meaningful differences in their fashion brand conformable behavior in consideration to their reference groups.

  • This paper analyzes the losses of a Steinmetz connection three-phase induction motor which is supplied by a single-phase source. The T-type equivalent circuit which is taken no-load losses into account is used to determine phase converter capacitive reactances at starting and rated speed by using the condition of the minimum voltage unbalance. The starting and the operating capacitor are replaced at the slip of the same voltage unbalance factor points which are depicted using two capacitive reactances. The operation characteristics are investigated by comparing with those of three-phase balanced operation to find the feasibility of single-phase operation. To analyze the losses of this motor, the output power decrease factor(OPDF), the loss ratio(LR), the no load loss ratio(NLLR), the copper loss ratio(CLR), the stator copper loss ratio(SCLR), and the rotor copper loss ratio(RCLR) are defined and simulated in the whole slip range. The simulated results show that OPDF is maintained almost uniformly, LR is low at low speed and high at high speed, CLR is higher !ban NLLR, but CLR varies concavely and NLLR varies convexly at high speed, SCLR is low at low speed and high at high speed, but SCLR varies convexly at high speed, and RCLR is nearly opposite to SCLR.

  • A total loss of all heat sinks is considered a severe accident with a low probability of occurrence. Following a total loss of all heat sinks, the degasser/condenser relief valves (DCRV) become the sole means available for the depressurization of the primary heat transport system. If a nuclear power plant has a total loss of heat sinks accident, high-temperature steam and differential pressure between the primary heat transport system (PHTS) and the steam generator (SG) secondary side can cause a SG tube creep rupture. To protect the PHTS during a total loss of all heat sinks accident, a sufficient depressurization capability of the degasser/condenser relief valve and the SG tube integrity is very important. Therefore, an accurate estimation of the discharge through these valves is necessary to assess the impact of the PHTS overprotection and the SG tube integrity of the primary circuit. This paper describes the analysis of DCRV discharge capacity and the SG tube integrity under a total loss of all heat sink using the CATHENA code. It was found that the DCRV's discharge capacity is enough to protect the overpressure in the PHTS, and the SG tube integrity is maintained in a total loss of all heat accident.

  • In this paper, the nature of iron loss in electrical steel during alternating field excitation is investigated more precisely. The exact definition of AC iron loss is cleared by accurately measuring the iron loss for conditions of both the sinusoidal magnetic field and sinusoidal magnetic flux density. The results of this approach to iron loss calculations in electrical steel are compared to experimentally-measured losses. In addition, an inverse hysteresis model considering eddy current loss was developed to analyze the iron loss when the input is the voltage source. With this model, the inrush current in the inductor or transformer as well as the iron loss can be calculated.

  • The transmission networks are not perfect conductors and a percentage of the power generated is therefore lost before it reaches the loads. This network loss effects to the cost of suppling power to consumers, and must be considered if the most efficient dispatch and location of generators and loads is to be achieved. In this paper, we propose an approximate calculation of marginal loss factors to analyze characteristics of transmission loss of KEPCO power system. These static marginal loss factors are approximately calculated based on the KEPCO's expected summer peak load data of year 2000.

  • Noise is a major cause of hearing loss in the air base. There are lots of risk factors of hearing loss including noise, and hearing loss can be accelerated by combined effects of these risk factors. Here in, we reviewed risk factors of hearing loss, and analysed key risk factors inducing hearing loss in the air base. Risk factors exacerbating hearing loss with noise were mainly investigated in this research because noise could not be an avoidable risk factor in the air base. Analysed data will contribute to make green environment minimizing hearing loss of pilots and supporting personnels in the air base.

  • This paper measured and analyzed the source of total power loss of an ODD of a notebook computer. It shows that the biggest power loss is the windage loss due to the friction between rotating disk and surrounding air. It measured the power loss by the tilting motion of a rotating disc which is originated from the unbalanced mass of the rotating disc or the squareness between case-rotor and shaft. The power loss of rotating disc due to tilting motion was also calculated by using FLUENT, and it was correlated with the measured one. This paper shows that the one of the effective methods to reduce the power loss of an ODD is to reduce the tilting motion of a rotating disc.

  • This paper presents an analysis of the power gain under partial shading conditions (PSC) when the partial shade loss is being compensated in photovoltaic(PV) system. To analyze the power gain, our study divides the mismatch loss into partial shade loss and operating point loss. Partial shade loss is defined as the power difference between a normal string and a partially shaded string at the maximum power point (MPP). Operating point loss is defined as the power loss due to the operating point shift while following the MPP of the PV array. Partial shading in a PV system affects the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control by creating multiple MPPs, which causes mismatch losses. Several MPPT algorithms have been suggested to solve the multiple MPP problems. Among these, mismatch compensation algorithms require additional power to compensate for the mismatch loss; however, these algorithms do not consider the gain or loss between the input power required for compensation and the increased output power obtained after compensation. This paper analyzes the power gain resulting from the partial shade loss compensation under PSC, using the V-P curve of the PV system, and verifies that power gain existence by simulation and experiment.

  • This paper presents an analysis of power losses in three-level T-Type Inverters. The switching loss in different switching frequencies and the conduction loss at different modulation indices and power factors are investigated. Finally, it is shown that the results of analysis coincide with those which resulted from CASPOC software simulation.

  • In this paper, marginal loss factors are calculated for 12 load cases that represent the impact of marginal network tosses on nodal prices at the transmission network connection points at which generators are located. Based on comparison analysis of marginal loss factors on generation energy resources, we can find the characteristics of each plants according to its energy resources in KOREA.
