관군 배열에서의 종간 간격이 열전달에 미치는 영향에 대한 수치 해석적 연구 (NUMERICAL ANALYSIS FOR LONGITUDINAL PITCH EFFECT ON TUBE BANK HEAT TRANSFER)

  • In this study, a longitudinal pitch effect on in-line tube bank heat transfer has been analyzed numerically. To verify the accuracy of the solver model and boundary conditions, global Nusselt number(Nu) and pressure drop across the 2 row tube bank are compared with the existing experimental correlations under 500 ~ 2,000 Reynolds number(Re) range. By changing transverse pitch($S_T$) or longitudinal pitch($S_L$) separately in tube bank, we're trying to identify the each effect on heat transfer. We found that the effect of transverse pitch can be accounted for Reynolds number evaluated with maximum velocity($V_{max}$) at the smallest flow area similar to most existing correlations. Variation of the longitudinal pitch($S_L$) has a greater impact on the heat transfer compared to the transverse pitch($S_T$). Overall Nusselt number increases with larger longitudinal pitch($S_L$), however individual Nusselt number of the tube row has significant difference after the first row.

고속선 운항 안정성을 위한 수중익 배치 및 종모멘트 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Hydrofoil Arrangement and Longitudinal Moment Characteristics for Navigation Safety of High Speed Craft)

  • 본 연구에서는 수중익 배치와 종모멘트 특성이 전몰형 수중익선의 종방향 운동 안정성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 Tandem 수중익 모형의 시험을 통하여 고찰한다. 먼저, Canard 날개배치를 가지는 Tandem 수중익 모형을 제작하고 수중익의 양력 및 항력 계측 실험을 수행하여 양력 및 항력 특성을 평가하였다. 또한 종방향 운동의 초기 안정성과 자기 안정성을 가지는 Tandem 수중익 모형의 날개 배치를 결정하였다. Tandem 수중익 모형의 종안정성 시험에서는 선수 및 선미 수중익의 종방향 간격 변화와 종모멘트의 자기안정성 변화에 따른 Pitch 및 Heave 운동 특성, 익주 상태의 종안정성을 평가하였다. 먼저, Canard 날개배치를 가지는 Tandem 수중익 모형을 제작하고 수중익의 양력 및 항력 계측 실험을 수행하여 양력 및 항력 특성을 평가하였다. 또한 종방향 운동의 초기 안정성과 자기 안정성을 가지는 Tandem 수중익 모형의 날개 배치를 결정하였다. Tandem 수중익 모형의 종안정성 시험에서는 선수 및 선미 수중익의 종방향 간격 변화와 종모멘트의 자기안정성 변화에 따른 Pitch 및 Heave 운동 특성, 익주 상태의 종안정성을 평가하였다. 실험 수행 결과 본 연구의 주요 결론의 다음과 같다. 종 모멘트 자기 안정성이 클수록 주어진 고정 pitch 각에서 pitch운동에 대한 자기안정성이 높다. 다음 종모멘트 자기 안정성이 클수록, pitch각도 변화에 따른 pitch운동 및 heave운동의 변동 폭이 상대적으로 작으며 종방향 안정성이 우수하다. 마지막으로 종모멘트 자기안정성이 클수록, 수중익 양력이 동일한 경우, Tandem 수중익의 안정적인 익주를 위해서는 충분한 종모멘트의 자기안정성을 확보하는 것이 필수적인 것을 시험을 통하여 확인하였다.

A Study on Longitudinal Phugoid Mode Affected by Application of Nonlinear Control Laws

  • Relaxed Static Stability (RSS) concept has been applied to improve aerodynamic performance of modern version supersonic jet fighter aircraft. The T-50 advanced supersonic trainer employs the RSS concept in order to improve the aerodynamic performance. And the flight control system stabilizes the unstable aircraft and provides adequate handling qualities. The T-50 longitudinal control laws employ a proportional-plus-integral type controller based on a dynamic inversion method. The longitudinal dynamic modes consist of short period with high frequency and phugoid mode with low frequency. The design goal of longitudinal control law is optimization of short period damping ratio and frequency using Lower Order Equivalent System (LOES) complying the requirement of MIL-F-8785C. This paper addresses phugoid mode characteristics such as damping ratio and natural frequency that is affected by the nonlinear control laws such as angle of attack limiter, auto pitch attitude command system and autopilot of pitch attitude hold.

선내 위치에 따른 선박의 종운동 특성 (Longitudinal motion characteristics of a ship according to the location)

  • In head sea, a ship has mainly the longitudinal motion such as vertical acceleration and pitch. In that case, the motion characteristics of a ship will have changed as the location different from each of place vertically and horizontally on board. The author carried out an experiment about the ship's vertical acceleration and pitch according to the location for the head sea, and analyzed the data with the aid of the statistical and spectral analyzing method to get the motion characteristics of the vessels. The response of vertical acceleration and pitch not deeply depend on the decks vertically, but displayed the relative big different value horizontally even if same deck. The biggest response of vertical acceleration and pitch among the accommodations was shown at scientist room, but the value of it not reached to the minimum requirement of ISO 2631-1 for working on board.

독립 핀-튜브 열교환기의 열전달 성능특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Discrete Fin-and-tube Heat Exchangers)

  • The objective of this study Is to investigate the heat transfer performance of plate discrete fin-and-tube heat exchangers with large fin pitch. In this study, twenty-two heat exchangers were tested with a variation of fin pitch, number of tube row, longitudinal tube pitch and fin alignment. Discrete fin type exchangers improved heat transfer performance more than 10% compared to tile continuous fin type heat exchangers. The air-side heat transfer coefficient decreased with a reduction of the fin pitch and an increase of the number of tube row, The staggered fin alignment improved heat transfer performance more than 6% compared to the inline fin alignment. The effect of longitudinal tube pitch was insignificant on the j-factor and experiments found opposite effects on the j-factor with respect to fin alignment. Heat transfer correlations were developed from the measured data for flat plate discrete fin-and-tube heat exchangers with large fin pitch. The correlations yielded good predictions of the measured data with mean deviations of 1,4% and 0.3% for tire inline and staggered tube alignment, respectively.

Study on High Performance and Compact Absorber Using Small Diameter Heat Exchanger Tube

  • The effect of tube diameter on heat and mass transfer characteristics of absorber in absorption chiller/heater using LiBr solution as a working fluid has been investigated by both of numerical and experimental study to develop a high performance and compact absorber. The diameter of the heat exchanger tube inside absorber was changed from 15.88mm to 12.70mm and 9.52mm. In numerical study a model of vapor pressure drop inside tube absorber based on a commercial 20RT absorption chiller/heater was performed. The effect of tube diameter, longitudinal pitch, vapor Reynolds number, longitudinal pitch to diameter ratio on vapor pressure drop across the heat exchanger tube banks inside absorber have been investigated and found that vapor pressure drop decreases as tube diameter increases, longitudinal pitch increases, vapor Reynolds number decreases and longitudinal pitch to diameter ratio increases. In experimental study, a system includes a tube absorber, a generator, solution distribution system and cooling water system was set up. The experimental results shown that the overall heat transfer coefficient, mass transfer coefficient. Nusselt number and Sherwood number increase as solution flow rate increases. In both of study cases, the heat and mass transfer performance increases as tube diameter decreases. Among three different tube diameters the smallest tube diameter 9.52mm has highest heat and mass transfer performance.

열 회수 시스템의 최적 설계를 위한 격자 및 경계 조건 검증에 관한 연구 (VALIDATION OF GRID AND BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FOR OPTIMAL DESIGN OF HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM)

  • In this study, we tried to validate FLUENT solver model and domain setting for the problem of convective heat transfer in multiple tube bank under transitional zone. We have paid special attention to verify proper boundary conditions and the grid convergence. Through validation work, it is found that unsteady solution method with two-dimensional simulation domain can produce reasonable accurate results compared with existing experimental data. Simulation results with steady solution generates relatively large error. We found that both steady and unsteady method for three-dimensional domain shows acceptable accuracy. Further parametric study for deriving correlation from transverse and longitudinal pitch is currently underway.

비행선 자세각에 따른 부력중심 이동 및 종적 정안정성

  • 비행선의 자세각 변화는 내부의 헬륨 가스의 쏠림에 의한 부력중심 이동을 수반하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 자세각에 따른 부력중심 이동거리를 산출하고, 그에 따른 정적 종안 정성을 고찰하였다. 또한, 부력중심 이동 거리를 줄이기 위하여 비행선 내부에 설치된 격막에 의한 효과를 검토하였다. 부력중심은 정적 종안정성을 저하시키는 방향으로 이동하므로, 현 설계에서는 격막의 설치가 필수적이다. 속도에 대한 종적 정안정성을 고찰한 결과, 현 설계에서는 매우 낮은 속도 영역에서 정적으로 안정함을 알 수 있다.
