SEM Study of Sperm Penetration in Polyspermic Urodele Amphibian (Ambystoma mexicanum) Eggs (유미양서류 Ambystoma mexicanum란의 다수정 현상에 대한 주사 전자현미경적 연구)

  • A series of observation on sperm penetration in urodele (Ambystoma mexicanum) eggs are reported. The whole sperm including the tail appears to penetrate the egg surface. It can be demonstrated that the Ambystoma mexicanum egg is typically polyspermic. Each sperm penetration point is marked by a distinct crater on the egg surface the so called sperm pit. Initially, no sign of disruption in the surface structure observed. Once sperm penetration was complete, the site of entry became covered with long microvilli.

  • 그 동안 M2M 시장은 각 분야에서 IT를 융합하다가 자연발생적으로 형성되기 시작하면서, 복잡한 Supply Chain과 Long-Tail적 사업 특성을 가져 크게 활성화되지는 못하였다. 하지만 최근 무선기술의 발달, 글로벌 시장의 성장, 비용의 하락으로 인해 새로운 전기를 맞고 있다. 이에 따라 M2M 시장에 대해 KT는 M2M 인프라 구축과 제공, M2M 시장 창출과 활성화, 정부의 M2M 관련 사업에 대한 적극적인 참여 등을 기본방향으로 하여 추진 중이다. 특히 시장 창출과 활성화를 위해 저가 범용의 M2M 모듈을 개발하고, 요금상품을 재구성하는 증 비용 절감과 함께 M2M 플랫폼을 직접 구축, 외부 사업자에 제공하여 진입장벽을 낮추며, Open Ecosystem을 통해 관련 사업주체 간에 상호 Win-Win할 수 있는 사업환경을 만들어 나가고 있다. 본 원고는 종합 통신 사업자로서의 KT가 공공의 이익과 기업의 영리를 함께 고려하면서 M2M 사업을 진행해나가는 내용을 다루고 있다.

  • The digital information society that developed along with the 21st century is the 'Open-source Making Movement' which produces collective intelligence through open-source sharing and digital manufacturing tools, which is called 'Makers Movement'. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the case of Makers Movement in furniture design through 'IKEA Hacking' which arose simultaneously with the Makers Movement, and to study and present the prospect and direction of furniture design in the change of manufacturing industry. In this study, four design features were compared with IKEA hacking cases along with the establishment of 'community' which is a feature of Makers Movement. Four characteristics are first customized design, second derivative design through open source, third long -Tail effect design, and fourth, design using digital manufacturing tools. The prospect and direction of furniture design through this study are as follows: first, democratization of furniture design manufacturing, second job creation, third, coexistence of large and small enterprises, fourth promotion of various new technologies, and fifth, discovery of various furniture designers through 'Open System Organization'.

  • This paper investigates effects of reaction control jet on the aerodynamic performance of generic interceptor missile operating at supersonic flight condition. Parallelized CFDS code is used as a viscous flow solver. The generic interceptor missile configuration composed of a long and slender body and fixed tail fins. The behavior of normal force, axial force and pitching moment characteristics at altitude conditions corresponding to 10 km is studied according to the given control jet conditions, different angle of attacks based on the analysis of aerodynamic characteristics.

Isolation of Bacteriophage from Haloarcular sp, EH-1 (Haloarcular sp. EH-1에 의한 bacteriophage의 분리)

  • The extremely halophilic archaebacteriurn Haloarcular sp. EH-1 was isolated from solar salts. Halophages found in Haloarcular sp. EH-1 were isolated from fermented anchovy sauce. Halophages were isolated from fermented anchovy sauce using Haloarcular sp. EH-1 as a host bacterium. The isolated halophage produced 0.5∼l.0 mm in diameter clear plaques. The halophage consists of an symmetrical head, measuring 68 nm in diameter, and a contractile tail, 100 nm long and base plates were observed. Total size of phage DNA genome obtained 20 Kbp and its sequence homology was 52.87% with H. Salinarium.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation for Bilayers of Alkyl Thiol Molecules at Solid-Solid Interfaces

  • We present the results of molecular dynamics simulations for three different systems of bilayers of long-chain alkyl thiol [S(CH2)15CH3] molecules on an solid-solid interface using the extended collapsed atom model for the chain-molecule. It is found that there exist two possible transitions: a continuous transition characterized by a change in molecular interaction between sites of different chain molecules with increasing area per molecule and a sudden transition from an ordered lattice-like state to a liquid-like state due to the lack of interactions between sites of chain molecules on different surfaces with increasing distance between two solid surfaces. The third system displays a smooth change in probability distribution characterized by the increment of gauche structure in the near-tail part of the chain with increasing area per molecule. The analyses of energetic results and chain conformation results demonstrate the characteristic change of chain structure of each system.

  • 인터넷의 발달과 온라인 음악서비스로 인해 많은 사람들이 손쉽게 원하는 곡들을 선택하여 청취할 수 있다. 수많은 곡들 중 자기가 선호하는 음악을 듣고 찾기엔 많은 시간이 필요할 뿐만 아니라 검색하기 위해 곡 제목이나 아티스트 및 연도에 관한 정보도 숙지해야 할 것이다. 또한 질의에 해당하는 키워드가 포함되는 리스트만 제공되는 기존 음악 다운 사이트의 환경을 개선하고자, 영국 헤리엇와트 대학 연구진의 결과를 토대로 한 성격유형을 매칭시켜 해당된 장르를 구하고 컨텐트 기반인 음색유사도를 통해 질의에 해당된 음악을 추천해 주는 시스템을 설계하고자 한다. 4Shared.com과 비교 분석하였고 누구나 아는 유명한 곡들보다 한번도 들어보지 못한 곡들을 추천함으로써 유용성에 대한 기대감을 높이고자 한다.

  • Cholesteryl methyl ether$(CH_3OC_{27}H_{45})$ crystallizes in the monoclinic space group $P2_1$with a = 11.740 (8), b = 7.576 (5), c = 15.492 (10)${\AA},\; {\beta}\;= 110.39 (5)^{\circ}$, Z = 2, Dc = 1.03 g/$cm^3$ and Do = 0.96 g/$cm^3$. The intensities were collected on a Nonius CAD-4 diffractometer with Nb-filtered Mo-$K_{\alpha}$ radiation. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full matrix least-squares methods. The final R factor was 0.085 for 1479 observed reflections. Compared with other cholesterol derivatives, the cholesteryl ring and tail region of the molecule are normal. The molecular long axes are parallel to the [101] axis and molecules are packed together in a similar way to those in cholesteryl cliloride and bromide.

  • 검색 엔진에 입력되는 질의 중 입력 빈도는 낮지만 상대적으로 길이가 긴 질의를 롱테일 질의라고 일컫는다. 롱테일 질의가 전체 검색 로그에서 차지하는 비중은 높은 반면, 그 형태가 매우 다양하고 검색 의도가 상세하며 개별 질의의 양은 충분하지 않은 경우가 많기 때문에 해당 질의에 대한 적절한 검색어를 추천하는 것은 어려운 문제다. 본 논문에서는 롱테일 질의 입력 시 적절한 검색어 추천을 제공하기 위하여 질의-문서 클릭 정보를 활용한 추출기반 모델 및 Seq2seq와 GPT-2 기반 생성모델을 활용한 질의 확장 방법론을 제안한다. 실험 및 결과 분석을 통하여 제안 방법이 기존에 대응하지 못했던 롱테일 질의를 자연스럽게 확장할 수 있음을 보였다. 본 연구 결과를 실제 서비스에 접목함으로써 사용자의 검색 편리성을 증대하는 동시에, 언어 모델링 기반 질의 확장에 대한 가능성을 확인하였다.

Empennage Design of Solar-Electric Powered High Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (고고도 장기체공 전기 동력 무인기의 꼬리 날개 설계)

  • KARI is developing a solar-electric powered HALE UAV(EAV-3). For demonstrating the technology, EAV-2H, a down-scaled version of EAV-3, is developed and after EAV-2H's initial flight test, the directional stability and control need to be improved. Thus, the vertical tail and rudder of EAV-2H are redesigned with Advanced Aircraft Analysis(AAA). Size of the rudder is increased from mean chord ratio of rudder to vertical tail, $C_r/C_v(%)=30$ to $C_r/C_v(%)=60$ and size of the vertical tail is reduced 15%. As a result, the directional control to side wind($v_1$) is improved to sideslip angle, ${\beta}(deg)=25^{\circ}$ and $v_1(m/sec)=3.54$. Also, variation of airplane side force coefficient with sideslip angle ($C_{y_{\beta}}$) and variation of airplane side force coefficient with dimensionless rate of change of yaw rate ($C_{y_r}$) are reduced 15% and 22%, respectively to minimize the effect of side wind. The empennage design of EAV-2H is verified with flight tests and applied to design of KARI's solar-electric-powered EAV-3.
