A mathematical model for a long range water supply planning is develoted as a dynamic capacitated facility location problem, in which operation costs and two types of fixed costs are considered. The fixed costs are for water supply systems such as dams and reservoirs and for water conveyance systems of waterways or conduits from each water supply points. A Spreadsheet model is developed to support the efficiency of user interface and to implement a heuristic solution procedure. The proposed solution procedure utilizes SOLVER tool and it has been applied to a system with fictitious data but with reality and applicability in mind. As a result of the mathematical analysis, not only the most economic construction timings of surface water supply facilities and distribution systems but also the most economical water supply operating patterns are identified.

Unpreparedness of the maintenance regulations is regarded as the main reason for the short life span of the multi-owned commercial residential buildings. This study suggests that the followings should be prepared for the effective maintenance and life prolongation of the multi-owned commercial residential buildings : 1) Standard maintenance regulations for those buildings should be set up, 2) Building maintenance works should be performed by the specialists, like licensed building manager, mechanical and electrical engineers, etc., 3) Long-range repair expenses should be laid by on the monthly base according to the long-range repair plan, 4) Regulations concerning the defect repair should be provided properly.

Previous studies suggest that EphA7 plays a critical role in neural tube closure or cortical progenitor apoptosis. In this report, enhancer trap assay was used to modify various EphA7 BAC clones and screen a large genomic region spanning 570 kb downstream of the EphA7 gene. We found that the dorsal midline-specific EphA7 enhancer resides on the 457D20 EphA7 BAC clone and is localized to a 35 kb genomic region in between +345.7 kb to +379.8 kb downstream of the EphA7 transcription start site. Identification of the EphA7 BAC clone containing a long-range dorsal midline enhancer may constitute a useful tool for investigating the biological functions of EphA7 in vivo.

Decision Support System(DSS) is an advanced information system concept prevailing since 1980s. It supports managers' decision making activities by providing not only information but decision alternatives. It essentially consists of the components of database, modelbase and dialogue systems. With the development of its databases, POSCO needs a number of modelbases in establishing DSSs in various areas such as production planning and investment. This research particularly focuses on establishment of a mid-and long-range investment DSS and investigates the necessity and the problems of an investment DSS and the decision criteria for investment priority. We (1) propose a modelbase which uses the concepts of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and Zero-Base Budgeting(ZBB), along with an appropriate scoring method, database and dialogue system to support the investment manager in evaluating investment proposals ; (2) implement the system using relational database management system ; and (3) discuss the results of implementing the investment DSS.

This paper examines the persistence of relative consumer price indices for 15 regions in Korea including 6 metropolitan cities and 9 provinces over the period of 1990-2016. In particular, we ask if relative regional price indices contain a common stochastic trend and find that they are not. We then investigate how quickly these relative prices converge to their long run value and find that a half-life of a deviation from the long run value is in the range of 13 to 22 months for the aggregate consumer price indices and in the range of 7 to 13 months for the tradable goods price indices, which is much quicker than the estimates of previous studies. These estimates suggest that existing monetary models with the realistic duration of price rigidities can generate the persistence in relative price indices.

A ground resistance is a good index of performance in a grounding system, but it does not reflect the performance in transient states. Recently long vertical ground rods in urban areas are often installed. But because of the inductance of long ground rods the ground impedance at high frequency might be greater than its resistance at low frequency. In this paper, a ground impedance of deeply driven ground rod has been measured in the frequency range from 10 kHz to 50 MHz. As a result, the ground impedances of a deeply driven ground rods are almost constant at the frequency range less than 100 kHz. However at high frequency the ground impedance showed the strong frequency dependance.

This area is covered in Andesite of high compression strength and located in PUSAN SEO-KU. There are many old houses around shaft site. So, we must have a cautious blasting operation. A total of 40 blasts were test at DAE-SHIN Shaft site to study the magnitude and frequency characterization of blast-induced vibration. The effect of viblating frequency on structual damage and site-specific scaling to define th empirical equations were also discussed. The result can be summarized as follows: 1. Some empirical equations were obtained. $V=K\{{\frac{D}{W}}1/3\}^{-n}$ where the values for n and K are estimated to be -1.407 to -2.202 and 643.3489 to 7283.2104 respectively. 2. Dominant frequencies at short distance are in the range of about 75.0 to 91.8 Hz, with some exceptions of about 50Hz, Frequencies observed at long distance are in the range of 10 to 2Hz. It is apparent the shift of dominant frequency down to lower levels at long distance.

The purpose of this study is to provide basis data to understand the urban housewives' assets management behavior. The result can be summarized as follows: 1. The more urban housewives were educated, the more they were satisfied with methods of assets management. So it turned out that the educational improvement of husbands and wives brought forth the satisfaction of their lives. From this result, we can conclude that more improved education is essential to us. 2. Specifically, age is an important factor of the reasons of assets management. Among housewives below 40 years old. the preparation for purchasing durable goods and more leisure was the main reason for assets management. Among housewives from 40 to 50, the preparation for expenditures of education and marriage of their children was the main reason. Among housewives above 50, the preparation for their retirement was the main reason. As results, we can notice that they don't make a long-range plan positively but they usually prepare expenditures for their seasonable needs. So we have to emphasize on educating them to make a long-range plan.

A full-range analytic drain current model for depletion-mode long-channel surrounding-gate nanowire field-effect transistor (SGNWFET) is proposed. The model is derived from the solution of the 1-D cylindrical Poisson equation which includes dopant and mobile charges, by using the Pao-Sah gradual channel approximation and the full-depletion approximation. The proposed model captures the phenomenon of the bulk conduction mechanism in all regions of device operation (subthreshold, linear, and saturation regions). It has been shown that the continuous model is in complete agreement with the numerical simulations.

We present a fiber laser sensor that uses a fiber grating as a strain sensor head and an end-reflector of the laser cavity. A passive wavelength. The long-period grating band-rejection filter showed a wide usable filter wavelength range of about 25 nm, and the intensity of transmitted light increased by 16% for 1nm sensor wavelength shift in trhe measurement range.
