  • Current competition among companies than regional, the time constraints, it is globalization, Tilt the efforts of many to be operated by building the efficient distribution system to reduce logistics costs and improve customer service it is reality's there. Therefore, the need for industrial complexes environmentally friendly can be cost competitive companies perform cavitation region's increased. To build the distribution center these logistics system through a joint of freight and appropriate policy is required. In particular, efficient operation through the system construction of industrial complexes in the logistics system is very important in terms of friendly low-cost urban logistics, the environment. Since the traffic volume which is Jipufa and utilization of network is transported by a more appropriate technicians and means suitable operating model can efficiency is improved. However, despite these advantages, research network design has not been actively conducted due to the complexity of the problem. Therefore, in this study, by analyzing the logistics system, and presents the operating model through a simulation and basic settings for the model of the logistics complex based on the analysis result, the construction of infrastructure of logistics industry complex it is intended to present the article.

  • Companies are facing challenges to have high competitiveness because of continuous oil price rising and CO2 emissions regulations. Thus, companies are trying hard to construct effective logistics and operation system to achieve high customer service quality and saving cost. Also the ec-friendly idustrial complex is needed. Busan is in process to construct GILC(Global Industry Logistics City) in west Busan province to achieve high competitiveness and support lack of industrial complex. To construct this kind of logistics industrial complex, it needs logistics system through proper policy and freight transportation co-operation. Especially, efficient management through logistics hierarchy construction in industrial complex is very important for low cost and eco-friendly point of view. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze logistics system and suggest operation model to present logistics complex construction base data.

Heuristic Algorithms for Capacitated Collection Network Design in Reverse Logistics

  • Refuse collection, one of important elements in reverse logistics, is an activity rendering recyclables or wastes and moving them to some points where further treatment is required. Among various decisions in the collection activity, we focus on network design, which is the problem of locating collection points as well as allocating refuses at demand points to collection points while satisfying the capacity restriction at each collection point. Here, the collection point is the place where recyclables or wastes near the point are gathered, and locating the collection points is done by selecting them from a given set of potential sites. The objective is to minimize the sum of fixed costs to open collection points and transportation costs to move refuses from demand points to collection points. An integer programming model is developed to represent the problem mathematically and due to the complexity of the problem, two types of heuristics, one with simultaneous and the others with separate location and allocation, are suggested. Computational experiments were done on test problems up to 500 potential sites, and the results are reported. In particular, some heuristics gave near optimal solutions for small-size test problems, i.e., 2% gaps in average from the optimal solution values.

  • Purpose: The industrial sector, especially in developed countries, is seen as the primary threat to sustainability. As a result, contemporary organizations prioritize establishing sustainable business practices. This sustainability can be achieved by organizations being concerned with their external environments, which is referred to as going green. This study aims to provide a green logistics network design to explain how to attract green consumers. Research design, data and methodology: This study conducted a comprehensive process to obtain textual dataset in the current literature and finally the author could collect total 26 relevant prior studies to achieve the purpose of the study. All dataset was thoroughly screened and selected for the high-degree of validity. Results: Based on the intensive literature review, the author insists that the four findings presented in this study will be useful as they provide evidence of the importance of technology in achieving global sustainability.in the situation we face that technology has become an important part of human life. Conclusions: This study provides meaningful insights into the environmental strategies that organizations across the world can implement to achieve a green supply chain based on the solutions in this study. The strategies presented in this study are evidence-based and have been tested through different studies.

  • It has been recognized as an important issue to design optimally a firm's logistics network for minimizing logistics cost and maximizing customer service. It is, however, not easy to get an optimal solution by analyzing trade-off of cost factors, dynamic and interdependent characteristics in the logistics network decision making. Although there has been some developments in a system which helps decision making for logistics analysis, it is true that there is no system for enterprise-wise's on-site support and methodical logistics decision. Specially, E-biz process along with information technology has been made dramatic advance in a various industries, there has been much need for practical education closely resembles on-site work. The software developed by this study materializes efficient algorithm suggested by recent studies in key topics of logistics such as location and allocation problem, traveling salesman problem, and vehicle routing problem and transportation and distribution problem. It also supports executing a variety of experimental design and analysis in a way of the most user friendly based on Java. In the near future, we expect that it can be extended to integrated supply chain solution by adding decision making in production in addition to a decision in logistics.

  • Among various environmental issues, those for worn-out products are increasingly important due to rapid development and improvement of products, shortages of dumping sites and waste-incineration facilities, and legislation pressures and customer recognitions to protect the environment. Under such circumstances, collection and product recovery activities give rise to additional material flows from customers back to collectors and reprocessors. Reverse logistics, the opposite direction of the conventional forward logistics, is concerned with the management of this material flow. In this paper, we consider the emerging concept of reverse logistics. First, the concept of sustainable development is explained to explain the philosophical background of various environmental issues. Second, we explain the basics of reverse logistics, which includes the overall structure and the classification of network types. Finally, we review the previous research articles, especially in the aspect of industrial engineering, after classifying the decision problems into : (a) product recovery strategy; (b) network design and operation; (c) inventory management; (d) disassembly problems; and (e) remanufacturing problems.

  • In this paper, we develop a transportation planning system for the mail transportation network, which consists of 25 mail centers and one mail exchange center. The main functions of the system are adjustment of transportation plan, creation of new transportation plan, and calculation of expected exchange mail volume which are transported through mail exchange center. We develop an adjusting algorithm which gives a new transportation plan by deleting, adding or changing the current routes. The algorithm based on the transportation results of current transportation plan and mail volume data. We design and implement a planning system by installing the algorithm as the planning engine. For the practical use, the system is connected to the information system of Korea Post, PostNet.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to find out how shipping company recognizes making partnership with the third party logistics provider and to give implication. Research design, data and methodology - Personal interview and questionnaire by E-mail, Fax, Mail, and telephone were used. 700 copies of the questionnaires were distributed and 155 copied were returned. Among collected questionnaires, 20 copies were excluded because of insufficient content, and therefore 135 copies were used. Results - Korea should change into new paradigm from old one based on current economic and social systems which has stemmed from bureaucracy, inflexibility chauvinism and equalitarianism. Flexible policies, administration and systems will be needed for better business practices. The Domestic logistics corporation needs to preoccupy strategic logistics hub and network. Conclusions - To be a center of North East Logistics, Korea needs more reasonable business law, systems and policies. Social norms and orders should be established to accomplish political and social security. A paradigm of the policy ruling over development of capital city and satellite cities shall make change.

  • Recently the recognition of Logistics becomes important to enterprises as a means for improving their competition, but the Korea enterpries falls for far behind in management techniques for analyzing realities and problems in the logistic compare to the advanced countries. In describing a distribution network, we have stated that it is basically a system or a set of locations that ship, receive or store material plus the routes that connect these locations. Using a Dynamic Programming on logistics, we can decrease the inventory level and increase the service level on logistics and the management performance.
