  • When a fault occurs on a transmission line, it is important to identify the fault location as speedily as possible for improvement of the power supply reliability. Generally, distance to fault location is estimated by off line from the recorded data. Conventional fault recorder uses the fault data at one end. This paper deals with the design of an advanced fault recorder for enhancement accuracy of the fault distance estimation and fast detection a fault occurrence position. The major emphasis of the paper will be on the description of the hardware and software of the fault recorder. The fault locator algorithm utilizes a GPS time-synchronized the fault data at both ends. The fault data is transmitted to the other side substation through communication. The advanced fault locator includes a Power module, MPU(Main Processing Unit) module, ADPU(Analog Digital Processing Unit) module, and SIU(Signal Interface Unit) modules. The MMI firmware and software of an advanced fault recording device was implemented.

  • This paper focuses on recontextualizing geography curriculum, i.e. examining recent changing aspects in three geography curriculum locators-society, student and discipline of geography-and searching future directions of geography curriculum in light of such changes. For conciliation and reflection of changing aspects of each locators, this paper dealt with social issues and societal changes in terms of locator of society, increased concern to student and development of cognitive science in terms of students, and challenging views on science and the meaning of epistemological changes in geography in terms of discipline. As a result, three future directions in geography curriculum are searched : issue-based geography curriculum, thinking geography curriculum, geography curriculum toward equity and accessbility.

  • Implant supported removable partial denture (ISRPD) using the implants enables favorable rehabilitation by complementing biomechanical limitations of the conventional removable partial denture (RPD). However, continuous recall check is necessary for evaluation of the mechanical and biological complications to ensure good long-term prognosis of ISRPD. This clinical report describes the complication and management in patient of Kennedy class I edentulism with ISRPD using healing abutment. The wear and fracture of healing abutment occurred at 36 months after delivery. So, healing abutment was replaced by connecting $Locator^{(R)}$ abutment for altering into the implant retained partial overdenture.

  • An IP address is used as a host identifier and a locator to bind hosts and applications to their location in existing Internet. Several protocols are proposed to eliminate this binding. Most of these protocols use IPv6-based host identifiers to maintain compatibility with existing Internet, but these identifiers cannot be handled by standard IPv6 routers because such identifiers are unroutable. Therefore, host identifiers need to be usually converted to locators at hosts, and the standard IPv6 protocol should be modified to interoperate with these protocols. In this paper, we propose a network-based host identifier locator separating scheme in software-defined networking. The proposed scheme separates the underlying network into Host Identity and IP domains in order to directly forward unroutable identifiers. The Host Identity domain operates as an overlaid network over IP domain, and it makes the unroutable identifiers to be routable using distributed hash table based routing strategy. For the evaluation, we compared the proposed scheme with the previous scheme using signaling costs and packet delivery costs. The result shows that the proposed scheme is more suitable in the recent mobile-based environments.

  • Successful cases of the implant-assisted removable partial denture and implant overdentures are reported in which a few implants are additionally placed to secure the maintenance, support, and stability of the denture when there are a few residual teeth. When the lateral force applied to the tooth abutment and implant surveyed crown is minimized, the horizontal and rotational movement of the denture is significantly reduced which is an effective method that can improve the address in patients who complain of reduced retention and stability of their dentures. In this case, a small number of implants were placed to fabricate an implant-assisted removable partial denture with implant surveyed crown in the maxilla and implant overdenture with Locator® attachment in the mandible to improve the retention, stability, and support of the dentures. The patient was satisfied with both functional and aesthetic aspects after the final dentures were delivered.

  • A new RS(Reed Solomon) Decoder design method, using Galois Subfield GF($2^4$) Multiplier, is described. The Decoder is designed using Normalized error position stored ROM. Here New Inverse Calculator in GF($2^8$) is designed, which is simpler and faster than the classical GF($2^8$) direct inverse calculator, using the Galois Subfield GF($2^4$) Arithmatic operator.

  • In this paper, Modular cell approach was applied to custom IC design or RS decoder. For the design of RS decoder by modular cells, 3 basic cells and one extra circuit are designed, these are, SYN cell for syndrome calculation, AL cell for error locator polynomial calculation, and REM cell for remaining error transform calculation. RS decoder design by these basic cells is very simple and regular, and naturally suitable for VLSI RS decoder design.
