  • Digital Magnetic Compass(DMC) has a robust feature against interference in the indoor environment better than compass which is easily disturbed by electromagnetic sources or large ferromagnetic structures. Ultrasonic Sensors are cheap and can give relatively accurate range readings. So they ate used in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping(SLAM). In this paper, we study the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping(SLAM) of mobile robot in the indoor environment with Digital Magnetic Compass and Ultrasonic Sensors. Autonomous mobile robot is aware of robot's moving direction and position by the restricted data. Also robot must localize as quickly as possible. And in the moving of the mobile robot, the mobile robot must acquire a map of its environment. As application for the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping(SLAM) on the autonomous mobile robot system, robot can find the localization and the mapping and can solve the Kid Napping situation for itself. Especially, in the Kid Napping situation, autonomous mobile robot use Ultrasonic sensors and Digital Magnetic Compass(DMC)'s data for moving. The robot is aware of accurate location By using Digital Magnetic Compass(DMC).

  • In this paper, it provides social network service using context-aware for tourism. For this the service requires Anthropomorphic natural process. The service object need to provide the function analyzing, storing and processing user action. In this paper, it provides an algorithm to analysis with personalized context aware for users. Providing service is an algorithm providing social network, helped by 'Friend recommendation algorithm' which to make relations and 'Attraction recommendation algorithm' which to recommend somewhere significant. Especially when guide is used, server analysis history and location of users to provide optimal travel path, named 'Travel path recommendation algorithm'. Such as this tourism social network technology can provide more user friendly service. This proposed tour guide system is expected to be applied to a wider vary application services.

  • Sensor network consists of a large number of sensor nodes that are densely deployed either inside the phenomenon or very close to it. The life time of each node in the sensor network significantly affects the life time of whole sensor network. A node which drained out its battery may incur the partition of whole network in some network topology The life time of each node depends on the battery capacity of each node. Therefore if all sensor nodes in the network live evenly long, the life time of the network will be longer. In this paper, we propose Cluster-Based Power-Efficient Routing (CBPER) Protocol which provides scalable and efficient data delivery to multiple mobile sinks. Previous r(luting protocols, such as Directed Diffusion and TTDD, need to flood many control packets to support multiple mobile sinks and many sources, causing nodes to consume their battery. In CBPER, we use the fact that sensor nodes are stationary and location-aware to construct and maintain the permanent grid structure, which makes nodes live longer by reducing the number of the flooding control packets. We have evaluated CBPER performance with TTDD. Our results show that CBPER is more power-efficient routing protocol than TTDD.

  • In this paper, we propose ubiTrack, a system which tracks users' location in indoor environments by employing infrared-based proximity method. Most of recently developed systems have focussed on performance and accuracy. For this reason, they adopted the idea of centralized management, which gathers all information in a main system to monitor users' location. However, these systems raise privacy concerns in ubiquitous computing environments where tons of sensors are seamlessly embedded into environments. In addition, centralized systems also need high computational power to support multiple users. The proposed ubiTrack is designed as a passive mobile architecture to relax privacy problems. Moreover, ubiTrack utilizes appropriate area as a unit to efficiently track users. To achieve this, ubiTrack overlaps each sensing area by utilizing the TDM (Time-Division Multiplexing) method. Additionally, ubiTrack exploits various filtering methods at each receiver and utilization module. The filtering methods minimize unexpected noise effect caused by external shock or intensity weakness of ID signal at the boundary of sensing area. ubiTrack can be applied not only to location-based applications but also to context-aware applications because of its associated module. This module is a part of middleware to support communication between heterogeneous applications or sensors in ubiquitous computing environments.

  • The existing electronic tagging system traces the location of a sex offender through communicating with GPS satellites and mobile phone base stations in order to prevent repeated crimes. However, the GPS satellite communication method does not work well in the interiors of downtown buildings or on the subways where it is difficult to receive satellite signals. In such cases, the location can be traced through communication with mobile phone base stations. But the distance between mobile phone base stations is several hundred meters, and as a result the margin of error for location tracing can be maximum of 2km in accuracy reduction. Take for example, if a kindergarten is located on the 2nd floor and a coffee shop and the sex offender are located on the 3rd floor in a 5-story building that is downtown, the existing electronic tagging system cannot trace the location of the sex offender as the GPS satellite communication does not work in the interior of the building and the exact floor that the sex offender is located on cannot be recognized through communication with mobile phone base stations. This occurrence is a big problem for the existing electronic tagging system, which is based on position recognition. Therefore, this study suggests a smart electronic tagging system that can monitor sex offenders by using a Ubiquitous Sensor Network in such extreme situations where position recognition is not possible.

  • A gigantic ship is constructed by assembling various types of ship blocks, each block being made by cutting and piecing the steel-plates together. The steel-plate piling process as the initial stage of ship construction sorts and manages the steel-plates according to the ship blocks that the steel-plates are used to make. The steel-plate piling process poses some problems such as process delay due to piling errors, safety vulnerability due to the handling of extra heavy-weight objects, and the uncertainty of work plan due to lack of information management in the pile spaces. We constructed a steel-plate piling process system based on the context-aware computing to resolve such problems. We built simulation system that can simulate the piling process and then established a smart space within the system by using tags, sensors and a real-time location system in order to collect context information. Workers receive an appropriate or intelligent service from the system.

  • The non-contact eye tracking is a nonintrusive human-computer interface providing hands-free communications for people with severe disabilities. Recently. it is expected to do an important role in non-contact systems due to the recent coronavirus COVID-19, etc. This paper proposes a novel approach for an eye mouse using an eye tracking method based on a context-aware based AdaBoost multi-region classifier and ASSL algorithm. The conventional AdaBoost algorithm, however, cannot provide sufficiently reliable performance in face tracking for eye cursor pointing estimation, because it cannot take advantage of the spatial context relations among facial features. Therefore, we propose the eye-region context based AdaBoost multiple classifier for the efficient non-contact gaze tracking and mouse implementation. The proposed method detects, tracks, and aggregates various eye features to evaluate the gaze and adjusts active and semi-supervised learning based on the on-screen cursor. The proposed system has been successfully employed in eye location, and it can also be used to detect and track eye features. This system controls the computer cursor along the user's gaze and it was postprocessing by applying Gaussian modeling to prevent shaking during the real-time tracking using Kalman filter. In this system, target objects were randomly generated and the eye tracking performance was analyzed according to the Fits law in real time. It is expected that the utilization of non-contact interfaces.

  • The recent wearable device's applications concentrates on providing diverse services such as location based service, context aware service to the users. These various services are implemented by the interactions between the wearable device and the user. In the legacy system, the interaction requires certain explicit configuration from the user. If the user is unfamiliar with the IT technology, it will be impossible to get the wanted service. Therefore, a new autonomous communication concept among neighbor devices is essential for people who is unfamiliar with the IT technology. The implicit human computer interface enables the user to acquire the services, even though the user don't know the IT technology. In this paper, we propose two BLE based protocols (B-LIDx protocol, B-PniP). B-LIDx protocol is the protocol for locationing the mobile device in indoor. B-PniP is a zero-configure opportunistic direct M2M communication protocol between neighbor devices to achieve the autonomous communication concept with zero-configuration. The protocol's evaluations are performed by measuring the time for finding the location of a mobile device in actual environment and aligning the time spent in services using the B-PniP.

  • An arbitration method is proposed to resolve a collision and arbitrate beacon transmissions in an indoor Positioning system consisting of multiple beacons and listeners. Although two or more beacons may compete to transmit signals simultaneously, a single winner in the competition is determined autonomously through the arbitration process while they are transmitting. So, it can continue to send its data, but the others give up their transmissions during the arbitration process. As a consequence, update rate for location information and channel utilization can be improved by avoiding that all beacons fail due to a collision. Once a beacon succeeds in transmitting its signal, a low-level priority is assigned to it. And a high-level priority is allocated to a beacon which gave up its transmission during arbitration process. This will guarantee every beacon has fair transmission opportunity with the arbitration method. As no centralized control is required among beacons, a Positioning system can still be easily deployed and expanded with this arbitration method.

  • In this paper, we propose ubiWarehouse system which can efficiently manages mass and many kinds of parts such as automotive parts. First, user's work situation is defined systematically as context type of 5W1H, context-aware system is separated on function, and each module operates independently. An efficient route is selected and relevant parts frequently treated at the same time are gathered by calculating the suitability of parts and racks. If other users currently are on a visit or are supposed to visit soon, the hun of visit is changed making a concession for preventing collision. As a result, the proposed system with avoiding competition can provide users with routes for inbound or outbound parts, and can effectively use spaces of a warehouse by arranging racks to gather relevant parts to near location. Also, individual service can be offered by evaluating user propensity using history of the warehouse job, and the accuracy of stock information can be improved by processing of unexpected context and real-time renewing of warehousing and delivering.
