The trajectory of a tag in RFID system is represented as a interval that connects two spatiotemporal locations captured when the tag enters and leaves the vicinity of a reader. Whole trajectories of a tag are represented as a set of unconnected interval because the location of the tag which left the vicinity of a reader is unknown until it enters the vicinity of another reader. The problems are that trajectories of a tag are not connected. It takes a long time to find trajectories of a tag because it leads to searching the whole index. To solve this problem, we propose a technique that links two intervals of the tag and an index scheme called SLR-tree. We also propose a sharing technique of link information between two intervals which enhances space utilization of nodes, and propose a split policy that preserves shared-link information. And finally, we evaluate the performance of the proposed index and prove that the index processes history queries efficiently.
In this study, travel time data collection of mine equipments was conducted in an underground mine using a reverse Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) system. In the reverse RFID system, RFID readers and antennas are mounted on mine equipments, and RFID tags are attached to the underground mine gallery. Indoor experiments were performed to analyze how RFID reader transmission power levels affect tag readable area and tag recognition rates. The results showed that travel time measurement become precise when the reader transmission power was reduced, however tag recognition rates were reduced. The field experiments indicated that setting the reader transmission power to 28 dBm maintained the tag recognition rate while minimizing the tracking location error. In addition, the results revealed that the reverse RFID system can be used successfully in an underground mine to collect the travel time data of haulage trucks.

Even more than 240 commercial geostationary communication satellites currently on orbit at the higher location than the GPS orbit altitude perform their own missions only by the support of the ground segment because of weak visibility from GPS. In addition, the orbit determination accuracy is very low without using two or more dedicated ground tracking antennas in intercontinental ground segment, since the satellite hardly moves with respect to the ground station. In this paper, we propose the GSPS(Geostationary Satellite Positioning System) in circular orbits of two sidereal days period higher than the geosynchronous orbit for orbit determination and autonomous satellite operation. The GSPS is conceived as a ranging system in that unknown positions of a geostationary satellite can be acquired from the known positions of the GSPS satellites. Each GSPS satellite transmits navigation data, clock data, correction data, and geostationary satellite command to control a geostationary satellite.

Recently, the needs of index structure which manages moving objects efficiently have been increased because of the rapid development of location-based techniques. Existing index structures frequently need updates because moving objects change continuatively their positions. That caused entire performance loss of the index structures. In this paper, we propose a new index structure called the TPKDB-tree that is a spatio-temporal index structure based on KDB-tree. Our technique optimizes update costs and reduces a search time for moving objects and reduces unnecessary updates by expressing moving objects as linear functions. Thus, the TPKDB-tree efficiently supports the searches of future positions of moving objects by considering the changes of moving objects included in the node as time-parameter. To maximize space utilization, we propose the new update and split methods. Finally, we perform various experiments to show that our approach outperforms others.

In this paper, we analyzed the mr detection and the stability of the object tracking system by an adaptive stereo object hacking using region-based MAD(Mean Absolute Difference) algorithm and the modified PID(Proportional Integral Derivative)-based pan/tilt controller. That is, in the proposed system, the location coordinates of the target object in the right and left images are extracted from the sequential stereo input image by applying a region-based MAD algorithm and the configuration parameter of the stereo camera, and then these values could effectively control to pan/tilt of the stereo camera under the noisy circumstances through the modified PID controller. Accordingly, an adaptive control effect of a moving object can be analyzed through the advanced system with the proposed 3D robot vision, in which the possibility of real-time implementation of the robot vision system is also confirmed.
MES(Manufacturing Execution System) is a control system which supports basic activities(scheduling, working process and qualify management, etc) to execute working on the shop floor. As especially MES is a system to decrease the gap between production planning and operating, it executes functions that make decision between management and labor using real-time data. MES for real-time information processing requires certain conditions such as data modeling of RFID, which has recently attracted attentions, and monitoring of each product unit from manufacture to sales. However, in the middle of processing the unit with a RFID tag, transponders(readers) can't often read the tag due to reader's malfunctions, intentional damages, loss and the circumstantial effects; for that reason, users are unable to confirm the location of the product unit. In this case, users cannot avoid tracing the path of units with uncertain clues. In this paper, we suggest that the unique MES based on RFID and Bayesian Network can immediately track the product unit, and show how to evaluate it.
With the development of deep learning technology, research is being actively carried out on user-friendly interfaces that are suitable for use in virtual reality or augmented reality applications. To support the interface using the user's hands, this paper proposes a deep learning-based fingertip detection method to enable the tracking of fingertip coordinates to select virtual objects, or to write or draw in the air. After cutting the approximate part of the corresponding fingertip object from the input image with the Grad-CAM, and perform the convolution neural network with Atrous Convolution for the cut image to detect fingertip location. This method is simpler and easier to implement than existing object detection algorithms without requiring a pre-processing for annotating objects. To verify this method we implemented an air writing application and showed that the recognition rate of 81% and the speed of 76 ms were able to write smoothly without delay in the air, making it possible to utilize the application in real time.

Surgery with the computer navigation system can make it possible to identify important anatomical structures which are difficult to be confirmed with the naked eye in the operation, and has extended their applications in various surgical fields. The head and neck surgery especially requires detailed anatomical knowledges and these knowledges have influences on postoperative functions and esthetics of a patient. In the orthognathic surgery, we should take osteotomies in the precise locations of the jawbones and move segments to the intended positions. There are so many important anatomical structures around the osteotomy-sites in the orthognathic surgery that the prevention of damage to these structures to obtain satisfactory results without any complication. There are vessels of the pterygoid plexus posterior to the pterygoid plate in the maxilla and the mandibular nerve enters the mandibluar foramen in the mandibular ramus. These locations should be confirmed perioperatively to avoid any injury to these structures. The navigation-assisted surgery may be helpful for this purpose. We performed navigational orthognathic surgeries with preoperative CT images and obtained satisfactory results. The osteotomy was performed in the proper location and damaging the surrounding important anatomical structures was avoided by keeping the saw away from them with the real-time navigation. It may be required to develop proper devices and protocols for the navigation-assisted orthognathic surgery.

In order to verify the efficiency or availability and stability of photovoltaic(PV) generation systems, huge system apparatuses are needed, in general, in which an actual size of solar panel, a type of converter system and some amount of load facilities should be installed in a particular location. It is also hardly possible to compare a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control scheme with others under the same weather and load conditions in an actual PV generation system. The only and a possible way to bring above-mentioned problem to be solved is to realize a transient simulation scheme for PV generation systems using real weather conditions such as insolation and surface temperature of solar cell. The authors, in this paper, introduces a novel simulation method, which is based on a real-time digital simulator (RTDS), for PV generation systems under the real weather conditions. Firstly, VI characteristic equation of a solar cell is developed as an empirical formula and reconstructed in the RTDS system, then the real data of weather conditions are interfaced to the analogue inputs of the RTDS. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed simulation scheme in this paper. The results shows that the cost effective verifying for the efficiency or availability and stability of PV generation systems and the comparison research of various control schemes like MPPT under the same real weather conditions are possible.

RFID system is the contact-less recognition technology and use for distribution system, environment, transport, security and so on. However, it may create many security relevant problems such as privacy because constraints of RFID communication environment. So several methods of resolving these problems have been proposed. Recently, Shin and Park proposed an efficient RFID authentication protocol with protecting user's privacy using hash function and exclusive-OR.. But Ahn and Bu et al. poia problem that a attacker can to masquerade as malicious reader because their protocol can't providing mutual authentication.nted out weakness of Shin and Park's protocol and proposed more secure and efficient protocol. Unfortunately, Ahn and But's protocol has In this paper, We propose an improved RFID authentication protocol providing mutual authentication. The proposed protocol has advantages that providing mutual authentication between a tag and a reader, secure against replay attack and spoofing attack. Also, it guarantees anonymity of RFID tag and secure against location tracking attack by collusion of malicious readers.
