Preference on the locations of Future House in Metropolitan Area, In Case of Taegu-si and Its Neighboring Areas (대도시권 지역의 미래 주택입지 선호도, 대구광역시권을 사례로)

  • This study analyzes the decision-making processes for university students to choose the location of their future houses in metropolitan area. Based on their intuitive judgment, the university students prefer the general criteria, transportation, facility, education and society, and economy in order. The Kendall coefficient of concordance W which determines the association among the rankings of the students' judgement on the importance of the general criteria is so low. It means that the students highly disagree their rankings of the importance of the general criteria. The rankings of the importance of the criteria like as transportation and education society are concentrated on a mean value, but those of the criteria like natural environment and economy are relatively dispersed. The students prefer the area between the center of Taegu-si center and its outskirts, the outskirts of Taegu-si, and the center of Taegu'si in order as an alternative location of their future house. From the specific criteria like the price of land and house, the student's preferences on the alternative locations of future house are varied as compared with those of the general criteria. According to a sensitivity analysis, the student's preference on the center of Taegu-si is increased, but that on the the outskirts of Taegu-si is decreased as the importance of facility and transportation factor is increased. On the contrary, the student's preference on the outskirts of Taegu-si is increased, but that on the center of Taegu-si is decreased as the importance of natural environments is increased.

A Study on the Planning Criteria for Thalassotherapy Facility (해양치유시설 계획기준에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide planning criteria for the thalassotherapy facility. Among the various contents of the planning criteria, the crucial parts of the thalassotherapy facility planning are the location, facility environment, and room space. To do this, we first examined the characteristics of the thalassotherapy facility and inquired about the thalassotherapy resources and treatments that are the basis of the thalassotherapy facility planning. And then, the overseas qualification criteria related to thalassotherapy facility were analyzed. Based on the above research results, the criteria for the thalassotherapy facility planning on location, facility environment, and spaces of rooms are presented. The location is within 1km of the coastline, where there is no pollutant emission facility, and the climate conditions are maintained more than 80% throughout the year below 'caution' level of the thermal sensation index and sensory temperature. The water quality of the facility environment meets the stricter criteria among the domestic standards or ISO 17680 standards, and the air quality is 60% of the atmospheric environment standard of the 「Framework Act on Environmental Policy」 and SO2, NO2, O3 and PM10 concentration shall ensure that the annual number of exceeding standards meets the EU standard, and noise is less than 50dB per daytime, 40dB per night. Therapy spaces have to meet the standards of the 「Building Act」, the working standards of architectural planning and international standards according to their function and use.

Mother's perception for the importance of selected criteria of day care center according to the demographic characteristics (사회인구학적 변인에 따른 어머니의 보육시설 선택기준에 대한 중요도)

  • The primary goals of this study were to find out how is the mother's perception for the importance of criteria when choosing day care center, and to examine how different there are according to the demographic characteristics, futhemore to investigate how different the importance of criteria when mothers choose an ideal day care center are given the present situation, when mother choose day care center are according to the related variables. The major results of this research are shown as follow: 1. Generally, there was significant differences in the mother's perception for the importance of quality criteria of day care center according to the demongraphic characteristics. 2. There were statistically significant differences in the importance of criteria when mothers choose day care center in 2 conditions: 1) given the present situation(income, trasportation, location of workplace etc.). when mothers choose day care center 2) when mothers choose an ideal day care center regardless of the present situation) according to several demographic variables.

  • A BIS(Bus Information System) collects, processes and analyzes information such as real-time location and operation status during bus operation. And It is a system that provides valid information to citizens, drivers, traffic centers and bus companies. Transport information system sent by an each bus is collected through GPS(Global Positioning System), DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communications), Beacon and passed to transport information center. BIS data by collected is handled and analyzed. Next, it is transmitted to citizen, drivers and bus companies in real time. The result of 5 times simulation satisfied the test criteria(error range ${\pm}10m$) with an average error range of 3.306m, and the reliability is increased. In this paper, we propose a improved location transfer component that can provide users to quicker and more accurate location information than existing BIS using GPS of smart phone. It can be seen that reliability is improved by securing improved bus position data.

Optimized Location Selection of Active Mounting System Applied to 1D Beam Structure

  • The objective of this article is finding optimized locations of active mounts applied to 6-DOF beam structure with two active paths. When sinusoidal excitation forces are applied to the beam structure, secondary forces from two active mounts which can minimize (ideally becoming zero) transmitted forces are calculated mathematically and the vibration attenuation performance is validated through computer simulations. When the force applied to two active mounts are relatively low, those specific locations are considered as optimized location of active mounting system. As the location of mount changes, amplitude and phase of secondary forces in each path are analyzed with 3D plots. Based on the simulation results, a criterion for selecting mounting location is suggested and it would be very useful for selecting actuators for active mounts appropriately.

  • The uncertainty or imprecision associated with vague parameters and weighting sets, reduces the ability to decide what alternative is better for a particular location. To efficiently reduce the effect of imprecision frequently arising in available information, fuzzy theory has been used to improve consideration of imprecision in a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) problem. Fuzzy logic offers a way to represent and handle imprecision present in continuous real world applications. A GIS implementing fuzzy set theory, (referred to in this paper as the "Spatial Fuzzy Approach") enables decision makers to express imprecise concepts associated with geographic data and provides decision makers the ability to have even more definition and discrimination in terms of the best alternatives for a particular spatial location. This study is focused on addressing questions pertaining to the methodology of floodplain analysis using GIS and Spatial Fuzzy MCDA to evaluate flood damage reduction alternatives. The issues will be examined in a case study of the Suyoung River Basin in Pusan, Korea.

  • This paper introduces test plan and scenario sets proposed by CDG(CDMA Development Group)for wireless location determination technologies performance evaluation, and proposes new test criteria and scenario sets which are more suitable in Korea environment. We propose two scenario sets. One is based on wireless network coverage, and another is based on test types. We evaluate the performance of AGPS(Assisted-GPS) receiver designed by Hanyang Navicom Co., ltd. and analyze the results according to proposed test criteria and scenario sets.

  • In the microcell or picocell-based system the frequent movements of mobiles bring about excessive traffics Into the networks. A mobile location estimation mechanism can facilitate both efficient resource allocation and better QoS provisioning through handoff optimization. Existing location estimation schemes consider only LOS model and have poor performance in presence of multi-path and shadowing. In this paper we study multi-criteria decision making which can increase estimation accuracy by considering other multiple decision parameters than the received signal strength.

Statistical Analysis of Ship Collision Accidents by Day and Night Times

  • Sunrise and sunset times differ depending on location and date. Previous studies conveniently but monotonously applied day and night times set up. This research defined the daytime and nighttime while considering the time of twilight according to the date and the location of ship collision accidents. Classifying the frequency of ship collision accidents with this standard, we conducted a chi-squared test for the difference between daytime and nighttime. The frequencies of ship collision accidents according to daytime and nighttime was compared by season, month, and time, and all of them showed statistically significant differences. The highest number of daytime ship collisions was 11.6 %, in June, and nighttime collisions peaked at 13.7 %, in December. The most frequent hour for daytime ship collisions was 0700h-0800h, at 10.2 %, and nighttime collisions peaked between 0400h-0500h, at 16.9 %. It is clear that the criteria used in previous studies cited was applied without any theoretical basis and likely only for the convenience of the researchers. It was found that results depend on what criteria are applied to the same research data. This study shows that statistical analyses of marine accidents, traffic volume, and congestion density should be carried out quantitatively while considering daytime and nighttime hours for each particular location and date.

  • Photovoltaic system is the core one among the new and renewable energy of the low Carbon and green growth. Recently, the necessity developing PV is emerging since its of less green hose gas emissions. However, a survey or research on the PV system has been hardly performed. It's not easy to find a appropriate location in consideration of environment. These circumstances encourages a systematic approach for the PV system development. The purpose of this study is to propose a methodology of the location analysis for developing PV system. With this, constraint and location criteria with weights of Analytic Hierarchy Process are established and quantification method of each factor is presented. The location analysis of PV system using the GIS were generalized and the results of analysis for redundant topographic features were presented as 3 criteria of the suitability rank.
