  • Urban is more intelligent continuously with the help of the convergence with IT technology. And it requires an integrated control system, which can manage urban facilities or monitor large-scale events based on GIS data, to provide its citizen with various ubiquitous services such as u-Health, u-Traffic, context-awareness etc. In order to realize the intelligent city geo-sensors that have the functionalities of generic sensing as well as location awareness will be established everywhere in the near future. Our system we presented have a rule engine to handle a atomic event as well as complex events that contain control flow or branch among them. And it can allow for visualization and monitoring the results through KML (Keyhole Mark-up Language) in the Google Maps. This paper describes au-GIS event processing system that can deal effectively with u-GIS events coming from various geo-sensor data in ubiquitous computing environments.

  • EPCIS(EPC Information Services) system is a core component of EPCglobal Architecture Framework offering information of the freights, the time of awareness and the location of awareness on the EPCglobal Network. The role of EPCIS is to exchange information based on EPC. There are four kinds of event data which are object event data, aggregation event data, quantity event data, and transaction event data. These EPCIS events data are stored and managed in EPCIS repository. This paper deals with the method which diversifies the data flow load of intensive EPCIS events and effectively manages EPCIS repository for exchanging data smoothly. In order to verify a effectiveness, we measure the performance of the system using a simulation by comparing the existing method with the suggested method.

  • Location awareness is one of the key functions to build U-city. Recently, many of works for location-aware systems are emerging to commercially apply to on-going large-scale apartment complex. As dwellers or cars being attached with active tags are moving in the U-city complex, the active tags periodically broadcast their own identifiers mu routers fixed along the street or in a building use those information to calculate location of thorn. There are several issues to be considered for such an environment. In this paper we propose i) a new architecture for location-aware system considering such issues ii) technical issues to implement it using active tags, and iii) a mathematical analytic model to investigate overall performance and verify it by comparing with actual experimental results. Through mathematical analysis, we can show that it is more efficient for the routers to send location signals than the tags do. We also show that there are several additional services available in the apartment complex. We conduscted several experiments hi a real ease parking lot to show that our system can locate the location of dwellers or cars.

  • In ubiquitous spaces, a user wants to be provided with a VOD service while moving one space to another freely. Since the traditional VOD system is dependent on user location, the VOD server transmits video data to a single client during a session. If the user moves to another space, he/she should close the old session and make a new request for the same video. However, the location-aware VOD system supports user mobility by closing and opening the session automatically. That is, the VOD system automatically perceives the movement of a user and allows the server to change the data flow so that a client near the user can receive the video data. This paper proposes a location-aware VOD service architecture and a session handoff scheme to provide a mobile user with continuous video delivery and implements a location-aware VOD prototype system based on Jini and Java. In experiment, we show that the proposed handoff scheme has a smaller handoff delay than the other handoff scheme.

  • In this study, the effectiveness of the warning signs was investigated. n order to survey, adult men and women surveyed 131 peoples. Findings are as follows. Warning level, warning statements, warning size, warning location, warning color is influenced consumers' perception level. However, the location of warning labels, the number of alerts, warnings, symbol type, fonts had no impact on the level of perception. In addition, Awareness have a positive impact on repurchase intention and recommend intention.

  • The goal of our research is to develop a smart context-aware guide system that provides a smart and personalized guide services based on implicit awareness of context. As a context-aware guide application, we have developed a location-aware smart bus guide system for Seoul based on PDA and GPS. It guides users to the nearby bus stops and provides users with information about the bus lines at the bus stops.

  • The awareness of boundaries in wireless sensor networks has many benefits. The identification of boundaries is especially challenging since typical wireless sensor networks consist of low-capability nodes that are unaware of their geographic location. In this paper, we propose a simple, efficient algorithm to detect nodes that are near the boundary of the sensor field as well as near the boundaries of holes. Our algorithm relies purely on the connectivity information of the underlying communication graph and does not require any information on the location of nodes. We introduce the 2-neighbor graph concept, and then make use of it to identify nodes near boundaries. The results of our experiment show that our algorithm carries out the task of topological boundary detection correctly and efficiently.
