  • In this paper, an optimal allocation method of a hybrid active power filter in an active distribution network is designed based on the differential evolution algorithm to resolve the harmonic generation problem when a distributed generation system is connected to the grid. A distributed generation system model in the calculation of power flow is established. An improved back/forward sweep algorithm and a decoupling algorithm are proposed for fundamental power flow and harmonic power flow. On this basis, a multi-objective optimization allocation model of the location and capacity of a hybrid filter in an active distribution network is built, and an optimal allocation scheme of the hybrid active power filter based on the differential evolution algorithm is proposed. To verify the effect of the harmonic suppression of the designed scheme, simulation analysis in an IEEE-33 nodes model and an experimental analysis on a test platform of a microgrid are adopted.

  • This study suggests PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm that optimizes the snowplow route allocation and the location of the snow control material storage to improve the efficiency in snow removal works. The modified PSO algorithm for improving the search capacity is proposed, and this study suggests the solution representation, the parameter setting, and the fitness function for the given optimization problems. Computational experiments in real-world case are carried out to justify the proposed method and compared with the traditional PSO algorithms. The results show that the proposed algorithms can find the better solution than the traditional PSO algorithms by searching for the wider solution space without falling into the local optima. The finding of this study is efficiently employed to solve the optimization of the snowplow route allocation by minimizing the workload of each snowplow to search the location of the snow control material storage as well.

  • In the microcell- or picocell-based system the frequent movements of the mobile bring about excessive traffics into the networks. A mobile location estimation mechanism can facilitate both efficient resource allocation and better QoS provisioning through handoff optimization. Existing location estimation schemes consider only LOS model and have poor performance in presence of multi-path and shadowing. In this paper we study a novel scheme which can increase estimation accuracy by considering NLOS environment and other multiple decision parameters than the received signal strength.

  • Purpose: This study analyzes accessibility of 10 hydrogen charging stations in Seoul and identifies areas that were difficult to access. The purpose is to re-analyze accessibility by adding a new location in terms of equity and safety of location placement, and then draw implications by comparing the improvement effects. Method: By applying the location-allocation model and the service area model based on network analysis of the ArcGIS program, areas with weak access were identified. The location selection method applied the 'Minimize Facilities' method in consideration of the need for rapid arrival to insufficient hydrogen charging stations. The limit distance for arrival within a specific time was analyzed by applying the average vehicle traffic speed(23.1km/h, Seoul Open Data Square) in 2022 to three categories: 3,850m(10minutes), 5,775m(15minutes), 7,700m(20minutes). In order to minimize conflicts over the installation of hydrogen charging stations, special standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy applied to derive candidate sites for additional installation of hydrogen charging stations among existing gas stations and LPG/CNG charging stations. Result: As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that accessibility was significantly improved by installing 5 new hydrogen charging stations at relatively safe gas stations and LPG/CNG charging stations in areas where access to the existing 10 hydrogen charging stations is weak within 20 minutes. Nevertheless, it was found that there are still areas where access remains difficult. Conclusion: The location allocation model is used to identify areas where access to hydrogen charging stations is difficult and prioritize installation, decision-making to select locations for hydrogen charging stations based on scientific evidence can be supported.

  • The purpose of this research is to establish location models for public service facilities considering efficiency as well as equity. And it suggests the method of spatial evaluation reflected the real world. Finally, this research is applied to the analysis on the optimum location of cultural facilities in Geumsan. This research adopts the expert survey for site selection factors and applys AHP for the relative weights. Secondly, it assorts the urban area by satellite image for the spatial analysis on the real world. Next, it adopts the Location-Allocation Model for the location evaluation and embodies the unequal population distribution according to the location model establishment. Finally, it conducts the more specific spatial analysis reflected the real world through the two methods applications; both spatial analysis(Grid analysis) and Network analysis.

  • Decentralization to local governments and amending of Health Center Law are to promote the efforts of health planning at the level of local agencies. In the health facility planning, it is important to take into account that what to be built, where to be located, how far should be service area and so forth, because health facilities are immovable, and require capital as well as personnel and consumable supplies. The aim of our study, answering to the question of 'where to be located?', is to determine the best location of urban health sub-center. At the local level, planning is the matter of finding the best location of specific facilitiy, in relation to population needs. We confine the accessibility, which is basic to location planning, to geographic one. Location-Allocation Model is used to solve the problem where the location is to maximize geographic accessibility. To minimize the weighted travel distance, objective function, $R_k=\sum{\sum}a_{ij}w_{i}d_{ij}$ is used. Distances are measured indirectly by map measure-meter with 1:25,000 Suwon map, and each potential sites, 10 administrative Dongs in Kwonson Gu, Suwon, are weighted by each number of households, total population, maternal age group, child age group, old age group, Relief for the livelihood, and population/primary health clinics. We find that Kuwoon-Dong, Seodun-Dong, Seryu3-Dong, according the descending orders, are best sites which can minimize the weighted distance, and conclude that it is reasonable to determine the location of urban health sub-center among those sites.

  • In order to support a cell-independent traffic asymmetry, the conventional TDD system cannot avoid crossed time slot (CTS) interference. Moreover, the TDD/FDD hierarchical overlay cellular systems is taken into account as a generally accepted cell model in a heterogeneous radio environment. In this paper, we propose an interference resolving radio resource allocation technique in a TDD-OFDMA cellular system that overlays a FDD-CDMA cell. In our proposed scheme, we exploit under-used FDD-CDMA uplink resource by TDD mobile abiding by a region based time slot(TS) allocation which in turn mitigates CTS interference considerably. It is demonstrated that combined with under-used resource utilization scheme based on mobile's location, the proposed technique can reduce CTS interference considerably and support the asymmetric traffic in TDD system.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a 3 dimensional spatial planning model (3DSPLAM) for facilities allocation and visual evaluation in improvement planning of rural village. For the model development, this study developed both planning layers and a modelling process for spatial planning of rural villages. The 3DSPLAM generates road networks and village facilities location automatically from built area plan map and digital elevation model generated by geographic information system. The model also simulates 3-dimensional villagescape for visual presentation of the planned results. The 3DSPLAM could be conveniently used for automatic allocation of roads, easy partition of land lots and reasonable locating of facilities. The planned results could be also presented in the stereoscopic models with varied viewing positions and angles.

  • The cost and customer service level of a logistics system depend primarily on the system design of the physical supply system and physical distribution system. The study presents the mathematical model and a huristic solution method of a combined location - vehicle routing problem(LVRP). In LVRP the objective is to determine the number and location of the distribution centers, the allocation of customers to distribution centers, and the vehicle delivery routes, so as to minimize the logistics total cost and satisfy the customer.
