In this paper an exciter which performs modulation and amplification is composed of high power(30dBm) VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) using push-pull circuit. Modulation is FSK using PLL(Phase Locked Loop). A single loop PLL synthesizer having sequency range of 42.5-100.5MHz, 25KHz channel spacing and switching time of 1msec converts down the exciter VCO frequency to 1.25MHz. This signal mixed with the FSK modulated signal coming in the phase detector of exciter. The acquisition time of exciter for frequency hoppng is less than 200usec, so the total acquisition time for transmission is less that 1.5msec. There is no need of additional power amplification because power amlifiction by high power VCO is high enough to communicate within near distance. The proposed frequency synthesizer is not complex so it is suitable for low cost slow frequency hopping spread spectrum communication.
We propose a slot antenna consisting of a rectangular slot on the ground plane, fed by a microstrip line with a rectangular-ring-shaped tuning stub that can be deployed in ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems to avoid interference with wireless local area network (WLAN) communication. Our antenna can achieve a single band-notched property from the 5 GHz frequency to the 6 GHz frequency owing to a controllable band notch that uses L- and J-shaped parasitic elements. The antenna characteristics can be modified to tune the band-notched property (4 GHz to 5 GHz or 6 GHz to 7 GHz) and the bandwidth of the band notch (1 GHz to 2 GHz). Furthermore, the shifted notch with enhanced width of the band notch from 1 GHz to 1.5 GHz is described in this paper. The UWB slot antenna and L- and J-shaped parasitic elements also provide the band-rejection function for reference in the WiMAX (3.5 GHz) and WLAN (5 GHz to 6 GHz) regions of the spectrum. Experiment results evidence the return loss performance, radiation patterns, and antenna gains at different operational frequencies.

The seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures with irregularities leading to soft first floor is studied using capacity assessment procedures. The soft first story effect is investigated for the cases: (i) slab-column connections without beams at the first floor, (ii) tall first story height and (iii) pilotis type building (open ground story). The effects of the first floor irregularity on the RC frame structure performance stages at global and local level (limit states) are investigated. Assessment based on the Capacity Spectrum Method (ATC-40) and on the Coefficient Method (FEMA 356) is also examined. Results in terms of failure modes, capacity curves, interstory drifts, ductility requirements and infills behaviour are presented. From the results it can be deduced that the global capacity of the structures is decreased due to the considered first floor morphology irregularities in comparison to the capacities of the regular structure. An increase of the demands for interstory drift is observed at the first floor level due to the considered irregularities while the open ground floor structure (pilotis type) led to even higher values of interstory drift demands at the first story. In the cases of tall first story and slab-column connections without beams soft-story mechanisms have also been observed at the first floor. Rotational criteria (EC8-part3) showed that the structure with slab-column connections without beams exhibited the most critical response.

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare disease characterized by prominent eosinophilic tissue infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract. Here, we report a case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis in an 18-year-old patient with prolonged nephrotic syndrome who presented with abdominal pain and peripheral hypereosinophilia. During the previous 2 years, he had visited local Emergency Department several times because of epigastric pain and nausea. He had been treated with steroid-dependent nephrotic syndrome since 3 years of age. Tests ruled out allergic and parasitic disease etiologies. Gastroduodenoscopy with biopsy revealed marked eosinophilic infiltration in the duodenum. Renal biopsy findings indicated minimal change disease spectrum without eosinophilic infiltration. The oral deflazacort dosage was increased, and the patient was discharged after abdominal pain resolved. To our knowledge, this is the first report of eosinophilic gastroenteritis in a patient with minimal change disease.
This paper proposes fast millimeter-wave (mm-wave) beam training protocols with receive beamforming. Both IEEE standards and the academic literature have generally considered beam training protocols involving exhaustive search over all possible beam directions for both the beamforming initiator and responder. However, this operation requires a long time (and thus overhead) when the beamwidth is quite narrow such as for mm-wave beams ($1^{\circ}$ in the worst case). To alleviate this problem, we propose two types of adaptive beam training protocols for fixed and adaptive modulation, respectively, which take into account the unique propagation characteristics of millimeter waves. For fixed modulation, the proposed protocol allows for interactive beam training, stopping the search when a local maximum of the power angular spectrum is found that is sufficient to support the chosen modulation/coding scheme. We furthermore suggest approaches to prioritize certain directions determined from the propagation geometry, long-term statistics, etc. For adaptive modulation, the proposed protocol uses iterative multi-level beam training concepts for fast link configuration that provide an exhaustive search with significantly lower complexity. Our simulation results verify that the proposed protocol performs better than traditional exhaustive search in terms of the link configuration speed for mobile wireless service applications.

As conventional drug delivery system is being improved rapidly by target-based drug delivery system, finding suitable Drug Delivery System (DDS) for new drugs remains a challenge. Although there are many drug delivery vehicles in existence, a significant improvement is required to some DDS such as for local, implant-based treatments used for musculoskeletal infections. Many polymers have been considered for providing the improvement in DDS. Synthetic polymer, for example, has gained popularity for broad-spectrum physicochemical and mechanical properties. This article reviews the biomedical applications of Poly(TriMethylene Carbonate-co-Caprolactone) (PTMCC), which has attracted attention due to its biocompatibility, biodegradability and rubber-like properties. Its synthesis, physical properties, and degradation are also discussed here. Although it is relatively new in biomedical applications, it is readily usable for the fabrication of differing format of DDS of superior mechanical strength and degradation properties. The use of PTMCC is expected to increase in coming years as more is revealed about its potentials.

A series feedback DRO operating at 3.2 GHz applicable to the spectrum analyzer as the second local oscillator, is designed and fabricated. We can obtain a low noise by utilizing the small signal S-parameter of the transistor and adjusting the reflection coefficient from the coupling coefficient between dielectric resonator and microstrip line. The results show that output power is 10.50 dBm, a stable low phase noise is -116 dBc/Hz at a 10 kHz offset frequency and a harmonic characteristic is 19.33 dBc.

This paper describes the design for the resistive FET mixer with low If for the 4-Ch DBF(Digital Beam Forming) receiver This DBF receiver based on the direct conversion method is generally suitable for high-speed wireless mobile communications. A radio frequency(RF), a local oscillator(LO) and an intermediate frequency(If) considered in this research are 2.09 GHz, 2.08 CHz and 10 MHz, respectively. This mixer is composed of band pass filter, a low pass filter and a DC bias circuit. Super low noise HJ FET of NE3210S01 is considered in design. The RE input power, LO input power and Vcs are used -10 dBm, 6 dBm and -0.4 V, respectively. In the 4-Ch resistive FET mixer, the measured If and harmonic components of 10 MHe, 20 MHz and 2.087 CHz are about -19.2 dBm, -66 dBm and -48 dBm, respectively The If output power observed at each channel of 10 MHz is about -19.2 dBm and it is higher 28.8 dBm than the maximum harmonic component of 2.087 CHz. Each If output spectrum of the 4-Ch is observed almost same value and it shows a good agreement with the prediction.
The behavior of benzo[a]pyrene-7,8-dione (BPQ) in aqueous solution and its interaction with native DNA was investigated using conventional absorption and linear dichroism (LD) spectroscopy. The appearance of a broad absorption maximum at long wavelengths and its proportional relationship to solvent polarizability suggested that BPQ adopts a aggregated state for all solutions examined. Disappearance of this absorption band at higher temperatures in aqueous solution also supported BPQ aggregation. When associated with DNA absorption spectral properties were essentially the same as that in aqueous solution. However, two isosbestic wavelengths were found in the concentration-dependent absorption spectrum of the BPQ-DNA complex, suggesting the presence of at least two or more DNA-bound BPQ species. Both species produced $LD^r$ spectra whose magnitude in BPQ absorption region is larger or comparable to that in the DNA absorption region, suggesting that the molecular BPQ plane is near perpendicular relative to the local DNA helical axis. Therefore, BPQ molecules are aligned along the DNA stem in both DNA-aggregated BPQ species.

Device-to-device (D2D) communications underlaid cellular infrastructure is an competitive local area services technology to promote spectrum usage for next generation cellular networks. These potential can only be tap through efficient interference coordination. Previous works only concentrated on interference from D2D pairs whiles interference from CUs to D2D pairs were neglected. This work focus on solving uplink interference problem emanating from multiple CUs sharing its resource with multiple D2D pairs. The base station (BS) acting as a supervisor selfishly institute a pricing scheme to manage the interference it experience from D2D pairs based on its Quality of service (QoS) requirement. D2D pairs following the supervisor make power allocation decisions considering the price from the BS in a non-cooperative game fashion. In order for the D2D pairs to also meet their QoS requirement, they suggest a price to the BS called discount price which reflects the interference they receive from the CUs. Finally, we analyze the proposed approach.
