최적화용 신경망의 성능개선을 위한 새로운 최적화 기법 (A new optimization method for improving the performance of neural networks for optimization)

  • This paper proposes a new method for improving the performances of the neural network for optimization using a hyubrid of gradient descent method and dynamic tunneling system. The update rule of gradient descent method, which has the fast convergence characteristic, is applied for high-speed optimization. The update rule of dynamic tunneling system, which is the deterministic method with a tunneling phenomenon, is applied for global optimization. Having converged to the for escaping the local minima by applying the dynamic tunneling system. The proposed method has been applied to the travelling salesman problems and the optimal task partition problems to evaluate to that of hopfield model using the update rule of gradient descent method.

  • We present a practical method for removing biotches and restoring their mission data. To detect blotches, we employ a robust approach of local analysis of spatiotemporal anisotropic brightness continuity Our approach uses first-order spatiotemporal directional derivatives to select the smoothest direction for each examined pixel, and puts out the incorruption probability that he examined pixel may not be corrupted by blotches. As the restoration filter, were employ a spatiotemporal fuzzy filter whose response is adaptively controlled according to a fuzzy rule defined by the incorruption probability. The fuzzy filter is composed of the two different filter of the identity filter and the spatiotemporal directional-weighted-mean filter, and will put out an intermediate value between the original input brightness and the directional-weighted-mean brightness. We design the fuzzy rule in advance by a standard supervised learning fuzzy rule in advance by a standard supervised learning method. The computer simulations are presented.

  • 영상 강조를 위하여 새로운 셀룰러 오토마타의 천이규칙을 제안하고 그것을 이용한 첨예화 알고리즘을 제안한다. 천이 규칙은 순차적이고 병렬적인 움직임을 가지며 Lyapunov함수를 만족한다. 영상 첨예화는 셀룰러 오토마타의 고정된 점으로 수렴하는 동적인 특성을 이용하여 천이 규칙을 개발, 실험하였다. 영상에 대한 사전지식 없이 상대적으로 밝기값의 차이가 완만한 부분에 연산을 집중해 효율적인 첨예화된 영상을 얻을 수 있다.

  • 본 논문은 시계열자료의 ARMA 모형화를 위해 계층적(Hierarchical) 문제해결 방식인 인공신경망 기초 의상결정트리분류기상의 인공신경망 구조를 개선하여 지역문제(Local Problem)를 해결하는 복수개의 인공신경망 결과를 Dempster's rule of combination을 이용하여 종합하는 병행적인 (Parallel) ARMA 모형활르 위한 방법론을 제시함으로써 의사결정트리분류기에 근거한 방법론의 단점을 보완하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 ARMA 모형화를 위한 방법론은 세 단계로 구성되어 있다: 1) ESACF 특성 벡터 추출단계; 2) 개별 인공신경망에 의한 부분적 모델링 단계; 3) Conflict Resolution 단계, 제시한 방법론을 검증하기 위해 모의실험용 자료와 실제 시계열자료를 이용하여 제시된 방법론을 검증하였으며 실험결과 기존 연구에 비해 ARMA 모형화와 정확도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Iterative global-local approach to consider the local effects in dynamic analysis of beams

  • This paper introduces a numerical procedure to incorporate elasto-plastic local deformation effects in the dynamic analysis of beams. The appealing feature is that simple beam type finite elements can be used for the global model which needs not to be altered by the localized elasto-plastic deformations. An overlapping local sophisticated 2D membrane model replaces the internal forces of the beam elements in the predefined region where the localized deformations take place. An iterative coupling technique is used to perform this replacement. Comparisons with full membrane analysis are provided in order to illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of the method developed herein. In this study, the membrane formulation is able to capture the elasto-plastic material behaviour based on the von Misses yield criterion and the associated flow rule for plane stress. The Newmark time integration method is adopted for the step-by-step dynamic analysis.

  • An expert system that diagnoses the malfunction of local area network is developed. The system detects specific devices in the network as the source of thd deta disconnection. These soures are sct to goals in the knowledge base and rules are constructed by uncluding all possible occurrences un thd connection of therminals and host computers. An approach via OR graph is employed for thd systematic rule generation. The system is implemented in a shell and illustrative inference processes are presented.

국소적인 연결을 갖는 신경회로망을 이용한 스테레오 정합 (Stereopsis with cellular neural networks)

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach of solving the stereopsis problem with a discrete-time cellular neural network(DTCNN) where each node has connections only with its local neithbors. Because the matching process of stereo correspondence depends on its geometrically local characteristics, the DTCNN is suitable for the stereo correspondence. Moreover, it can be easily implemented in VLSI. Therefore, we employed a two-layer DTCNN with dual templates, which are determined with the back propagation learning rule. Based on evaluation of the proposed approach for several random-dot stereograms, its performance is better than that of the Marr-Poggio algorithm.

퍼지 규칙 기반 모델링 기법을 이용한 감성 만족도 모델 개발 (User Satisfaction Models Based on a Fuzzy Rule-Based Modeling Approach)

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy rule-based model as a means to build usability models between emotional satisfaction and design variables of consumer products. Based on a subtractive clustering algorithm, this model obtains partially overlapping rules from existing data and builds multiple local models each of which has a form of a linear regression equation. The best subset procedure and cross validation technique are used to select appropriate input variables. The proposed technique was applied to the modeling of luxuriousness, balance, and attractiveness of office chairs. For comparison, regression models were built on the same data in two different ways; one using only potentially important variables selected by the design experts, and the other using all the design variables available. The results showed that the fuzzy rule-based model had a great benefit in terms of the number of variables included in the model. They also turned out to be adequate for predicting the usability of a new product. Better yet, the information on the product classes and their satisfaction levels can be obtained by interpreting the rules. The models, when combined with the information from the regression models, are expected to help the designers gain valuable insights in designing a new product.

Finger Vein Recognition Using Generalized Local Line Binary Pattern

  • Finger vein images contain rich oriented features. Local line binary pattern (LLBP) is a good oriented feature representation method extended from local binary pattern (LBP), but it is limited in that it can only extract horizontal and vertical line patterns, so effective information in an image may not be exploited and fully utilized. In this paper, an orientation-selectable LLBP method, called generalized local line binary pattern (GLLBP), is proposed for finger vein recognition. GLLBP extends LLBP for line pattern extraction into any orientation. To effectually improve the matching accuracy, the soft power metric is employed to calculate the matching score. Furthermore, to fully utilize the oriented features in an image, the matching scores from the line patterns with the best discriminative ability are fused using the Hamacher rule to achieve the final matching score for the last recognition. Experimental results on our database, MMCBNU_6000, show that the proposed method performs much better than state-of-the-art algorithms that use the oriented features and local features, such as LBP, LLBP, Gabor filter, steerable filter and local direction code (LDC).
