일축압축하 결정질암석 공식체에서의 응력분포 및 파괴에 대한 연구 (A study of stress distribution and subsequent failure in crystalline rock specimens under uniaxial compression)

  • In rock, there are many microsopic structures which influence the mechnical behavior of rock. Many microstructures interact with each other, and furthermore, material constants vary discontinuously within rock, as most rocks are composed of several minerals. Taking into account this feature, it may be possible to contemplate a microstructure of rock as a unit cell by which the rock is constituted periodically. If this idealization is acceptable, the homogenization method can be applied. In this research, various microcracks on rock specimens were observed through a stereoscopic microscope under uniaxial compression. On the other hand, local stress distribution in the periodic-micro structure was calculated by the homogenization method. Then it is shown that there is a possibility to establish a relation between the behavior of microcrack and macroscopic load quantitatively by the linear fracture mechanics.

Lane Detection and Tracking Using Classification in Image Sequences

  • We propose a novel lane detection method based on classification in image sequences. Both structural and statistical features of the extracted bright shape are applied to the neural network for finding correct lane marks. The features used in this paper are shown to have strong discriminating power to locate correct traffic lanes. The traffic lanes detected in the current frame is also used to estimate the traffic lane if the lane detection fails in the next frame. The proposed method is fast enough to apply for real-time systems; the average processing time is less than 2msec. Also the scheme of the local illumination compensation allows robust lane detection at nighttime. Therefore, this method can be widely used in intelligence transportation systems such as driver assistance, lane change assistance, lane departure warning and autonomous vehicles.

  • 본 논문에서는 HOLA(고차국소자동상관계수)를 이용한 특징추출과 BP(Backpropagation Network) 알고리즘을 이용하여 얼굴을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 동일한 환경, 즉 일정한 조도 하에서 카메라로부터 동일거리에 있는 영상을 256$\times$256 크기의 그레이 스케일(Gray Scale)로 취득하여 영상내의 잡음을 가우시안(Gaussian) 필터를 이용하여 제거한다. 차영상을 이용하여 얼굴영역을 분리한 후 얼굴영역의 특징벡터를 구하기 위하여 HOLA(고차 국소 자동 상관함수)를 사용한다. 계산된 특징벡터는 BP 신경망의 학습을 통하여 얼굴인식을 위한 데이터로 사용된다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 알고리즘에 의한 인식률향상과 속도 향상을 입증한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 자기상관함수의 국소적 특징을 사용하여 에지 특징을 추출한 후, 이를 이용해 유사이미지를 검색하는 방법을 제시한다. 자기상관함수의 국소적 특징을 이용하여 이미지를 검색할 경우 크기, 밝기, 색상등과 같은 이미지 요소가 서로 다를 경우에도 영향을 받지 않고 에지 특징정보를 추출해 낼 수 있다. 이는 얻어진 에지 특징을 이미지 크기와 고차 국소 자기상관함수의 변위에 의해 변하지 않도록 정규화를 하고, 동일 이미지에 대해 밝기가 조금 달라지면 검색효율이 떨어지는 점을 해결하기 위해 거리척도로서 방향여현거리(direction cosine distance)를 이용함으로써 가능하다. 이렇게 추출된 특징벡터를 자기조직화 맵에 의하여 클러스터링하고, 유사이미지 검색의 효율성을 비교해본 결과, 본 논문에서 제시한 방법을 사용하여 검색한 경우 재현율이 기존의 방법에 비해서 비교적 높은 수치를 나타냈다.

Design Feature-Based Jetfighter Shape Modeling

  • A jetfighter shape modeling method based on design features is researched, to improve the efficiency of shape modeling in the stage of conceptual aircraft design. The aircraft's general design features and shape parameters, including geometric and position parameters, are described. The coordinate systems of the entire aircraft and its components are defined. As a sample of local shape, a method of inlet intake modeling is introduced. The whole process of the modeling method is proposed. Three examples of different jetfighters are listed, to describe the achievement of basic layout, which includes four main elements. The Fusion of Components can be achieved by regulating the details of the sections of the fuselage. Sample Cases of typical layouts are shown to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, which provides the basis for further analysis and optimization.

  • In this paper, the fault analysis program that is convenient to analyse fault records of a digital relay and to set a digital relay is described. The key feature of this fault analysis program is as follows. - analysing fault records stored in a local PC and/or a digital relay - analysing events - setting a digital relay. This program is for a digital bus protection relay using a conventional variable percentage current differential relaying algorithm. So this program adds a function analysing the characteristic of each variable percentage current differential function and the connection state of the transmission lines at double-bus system.

  • In this study, a rotor blade of a Curtis turbine is investigated. Bezier curve is generally used to define the profile of turbine blades. However, this curve gives a feature of global control, which is not proper to a supersonic impulse turbine blade. Thus, a blade design method is developed by using B-spline curve so that local control is possible to obtain an optimized blade section. To design a Curtis turbine blade section systematically, the blade section has been changed by varying three design parameters using central composite design method. Flow analyses have been carried out for the blade sections, and the effects of design parameters are evaluated.

Region-based Corner Detection by Radial Projection

  • We propose a novel method which detects convex and concave corners using radial projection. The sum of two neighbors' differences at the local maxima or minima of the radial projection is compared with the angle threshold for detecting corners. In addition, the use of oriented bounding box trees and partial circles makes it possible to detect the corners of complex shapes. The experimental results show that the proposed method can separately detect the convex and concave corners, and that this method is scale invariant.

  • Interpenetrating phase composites of $TiB_2$-Cu system were produced via Spark-Plasma Sintering (SPS) oi nanocomposite powders. Under simultaneous action of pressure, temperature and electric current titanium diboride nanoparticles distributed in copper matrix move, agglomerate and form a fine-grained skeleton. Increasing SPS-temperature and he]ding time promote densification due to local melting of copper matrix When copper melting is avoided the compacts contain 17-20% porosity but titanium diboride skeleton is still formed representing the feature of SPS . High degree of densification and formation of titanium diboride network result in increased hardness of high-temperature SPS-compacts.

모바일로봇의 정밀 실내주행을 위한 개선된 ORB-SLAM 알고리즘 (Modified ORB-SLAM Algorithm for Precise Indoor Navigation of a Mobile Robot)

  • In this paper, we propose a modified ORB-SLAM (Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) for precise indoor navigation of a mobile robot. The exact posture and position estimation by the ORB-SLAM is not possible all the times for the indoor navigation of a mobile robot when there are not enough features in the environment. To overcome this shortcoming, additional IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) and encoder sensors were installed and utilized to calibrate the ORB-SLAM. By fusing the global information acquired by the SLAM and the dynamic local location information of the IMU and the encoder sensors, the mobile robot can be obtained the precise navigation information in the indoor environment with few feature points. The superiority of the modified ORB-SLAM was verified to compared with the conventional algorithm by the real experiments of a mobile robot navigation in a corridor environment.
