The purpose of this research was to investigate consumption and satisfaction of Takju (Makgeolli) among consumers ages 20 to 29 living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. It was found that 86.2% of the respondents drank Takju once or twice a month, and the high satisfaction group drank Takju with a frequency of 8 times a month (P<0.01). Respondents selected market (44.4%) and restaurants (34.9%) as the most common place of purchase, whereas pub (42.2%) and Takju bar (32.8%) were the drinking places selected. Regarding the preferred ingredients, respondents liked pear the most followed by Lycium chinense, corn, pine nuts, ginseng, and citrus fruit. The most compatible foods with Takju were identified as Buchimgae (Jeon) (97.4%), Kimchi (45.6%), Bokkeum (36.4%), Namul & Muchim (25.0%), and Jjim (21.5%). Pajeon was mentioned as the most compatible food with Takju, followed by Bulgogi, Gamjatang, Agwijjim, Dubukimchibokkeum, and Ojingeotwigim. Regarding consumers' satisfaction of Takju, taste was the most highly valued, with color, price, alcohol content, function, flavor, diversity of raw materials, and accuracy of label also highly considered. Further, to formulate a plan to encourage consumption of Takju, the high satisfaction group decided that promotion of local festivals and events related to Takju, standardization of quality, creation of brands, expansion of distribution network, and organization of relevant departments are the most important compared to other items (P<0.05).

In this research the problems and ways to improve the three mural villages and how to make use of digital contents have been sought. Three ways of solutions were searched for the problems. Firstly, The geographical and cultural advantages of the villages were not in practical use, so in long term, making proper brands of the villages is recommended. Secondly, most of the paintings are wall paintings. So in the aspects of esthetics, more wall paintings are encouraged to be made with ceramic works. Lastly, there should be various festivals in connection with the villages. Various smart phone applications should be prepared for easier use of digital contents such as sights, foods, and accommodation, Mural villages have become one of attractions for both local and foreign tourists. More tourists should feel free to visit the mural villages.
Tainan was the capital of Taiwan and was the largest commercial city in Taiwan with a significant number of ports. However, after the end of the Qing era, the functions of the capital and major ports were shifted to Taipei and Kaohsiung, thus leading Tainan to lose its position. This article focuses on festivals in the city. The Qing dynasty administrative agency set up a local government that grouped multiple villages based on the religious beliefs which were closely related to the concept of the urban space as the primary temple. Mazu is an object of worship that attracted the attention of city residents from the Taisho era to the colonial era. At the Mazu temple in Tainan, which has acquired a new mystery, a Mazu festival was conducted with Mazu patrols. This festival was conducted from 1915 to 1937, when it was canceled due to the temple reorganization movement. At the festival, multiple participating groups used to compete to earn the luxury of running the pavilions. The procession ran through the north side of the city on the first day and the south side of the city on the second day. During this festival, in addition to going around the villages of the old city, a touring route was planned for the procession to pass through major landmarks related to the colonial administration and the Ginza-dori Shopping Street, which was newly created during the Taisho era. Therefore, this procession was unique because it ensured that people could explore the old and new streets that were transformed through urban remodeling during the colonial period. Moreover, passing through the licensed quarters called Shin-machi, which was relocated through urban remodeling by the administrative agency, allowed people to visualize the urban structure of colonial Taiwan. Tainan city was renewed through remodeling during the colonial period, thus leading to the formation of a new commercial area. The spirit of the people in Tainan city can be gauged based on the fact that the festival was financially and religiously supported by the merchants who promoted it. The restoration of Mazu during the colonial period indicates the restoration of urban commerce in Tainan, which had fallen from its position as the primary port city in Taiwan since the end of the Qing period. Therefore, it can be considered to represent the restoration of the city.
This study analysed changes in rural tourism between before and after COVID-19 using LDA topic analysis. In order to understand the changes in rural tourism, blog data including the keyword 'Gochang-gun travel' was used. As a result of LDA topic analysis with blog data retrieved, the study found nine topics in 2019 and 2020. 2019 and 2020 are, generally, consistent in topics, but the three topics related to rural experiential tourism that appeared in 2019 did not appear in 2020. In 2020, three new topics emerged: Beach vacations and campings. New travel activities of noncontact with other people(Untact tourism in Korean context) in the COVID-19 era, and The negative impacts on travel businesses and behaviours from COVID-19. Especially, the adverse effects of COVID-19 have made an enormous decline in rural experience tourism destinations and cancellation of local festivals. On the other hand, new tourism activities have emerged due to COVID-19. Those activities have included camping, drive-thru destinations, and cycling. Ecological and natural tourist sites such as Ungok Wetland, Seonunsan Mountain, Seonunsa Temple, and Gusipo Beach appeared. These tourist destinations have a quiet atmosphere and less density place noncontacting with other people when visiting. Also, because overseas travel has become difficult, long-term stay travel in rural areas has appeared. This study indicates that COVID-19 has less impacted rural tourism than other tourism destinations with these positive and negative impacts.
The operation method of offline venues such as local festivals usually has problems such as the absence of real-time events and booth information, wasting time in the process of purchasing and receiving goods, and stagnating the movement of guests. This study increases the convenience of guests and managers by integrating all contents in the venue in the form of booth, thereby increasing the uniformity of event information and the efficiency of booth operation. In addition, a system was designed to minimize movement problems and improve performance by detecting the movement of guests within the venue and increasing the efficiency of arranging booths based on location data. It has been developed as a low-cost system that measures wireless packets with portable wireless LAN APs and control units. This has advantages in the operation of the venue, which consists of the installation and dismantling of variable booths in a short period of time. It is expected that the integrated operation of the venue will be utilized by linking the movement data of guests to activate visits and increase sales through data-based promotions.

On October 29, 2022, a very large number of people gathered in Itaewondong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Korea for a Halloween festival, and as crowds pushed through narrow alleys, 159 deaths and 195 injuries occurred, making it the largest crushing incident in Korea. There have been a number of stampede deaths where crowds gathered at large-scale festivals, event venues, and stadiums, both at home and abroad. When the density increases, the physical contact between bodies becomes very strong, and crowd turbulence occurs when the force of the crowd is suddenly added from one body to another; thus, the force is amplified and causes the crowd to behave like a mass of fluid. When crowd turbulence occurs, people cannot control themselves and are pushed into he crowd. To prevent a stampede accident, investigation and management of areas expected to be crowded and congested must be systematically conducted, and related ministries and local governments are planning to establish a crowd management system to prepare safety management measures to prevent accidents involving multiple crowds. In this study, based on national data, a continuous digital topographic map is modeled in 3D to analyze the risk of crowding and present a plan for selecting high-risk walking routes. Areas with a high risk of crowding are selected in advance based on various data (numerical data, floating population, and regional data) in a realistic and feasible way, and the analysis is based on the visible results from 3D modeling of the risk area. The study demonstrates that it is possible to prepare measures to prevent cluster accidents that can reflect the characteristics of the region.

This paper aims to analyze success factors for the construction of Supdari(a traditional wooden bridge to connect small streams temporarily), which is a citizens' initiative project to revitalize local community in Jeonju-River, Jeonju City. Recently Supdari has been restored for the use of belongings in local festivals. But Jeonju-River Supdari was designed and built to unite local citizens and connect river-divided villages. This project shows how investing social capital like Supdari makes the community vitalize through citizen's active participation. As a citizen leading project, there were several critical factors for sucess. At first, there were some noticeable ways to encourage local citizen's participation in online and offline. In the online, the Supdari internet cafe introduced what is a Supdari, how to make it and where we build using various media of UCCs and photos. In the offline, the small scaled model of Supdari was made and exhibited in the entrance of the village and related several seminars were hosted to discuss how to construct Supdari with citizens, local assembly men and public officials together. The Second is the movement to restore traditional and cultural resources for the community recovery triggered the supports from local councils and many civic groups. Civic groups supported ecological and structural expertise to guarantee environment friendly and stable construction. And local councils mediated citizen's and administrative office's opinions. The third is flexible administrative management to help citizen's ideas to be realized. Officials extended setting period of Supdari on the condition with the civic-control safety management.
The aims of this study concerning tourists travelling in the island of Jeju include: to identify and assess the promotional efforts for traditional Jeju cuisine; and to identify the impacts of those efforts on customers and tourists. The analyses revealed that continuous promotion efforts, along with changes in the cooking methods and the development of new menus, are needed for the items of traditional Jeju cuisine that are relatively unknown to tourists and that fail to satisfy customers. Customers seeking Jeju food reported high satisfaction with such items as grilled meat and fish, steamed meat and fish, and raw fish(hoe), so those cooking methods must also be continually improved. Promotional efforts had impacts on the satisfaction and revisit rates of customers while the recognizability of foods offered had impacts on all areas, including the satisfaction and revisit rates of customers as well as word-of-mouth advertising among them. There needs to be an experience-oriented or educational program that introduces customers to traditional Jeju cuisine. Since customers and tourists gain information on traditional Jeju cuisine from the recommendations and word-of-mouth advertising from the locals they meet on the island, traditional Jeju cuisine should also be advertised to the local residents. The commercial merchandising of Jeju culinary culture and making festivals based on it must, therefore, be preceded by studies on how to increase the locals' awareness of local traditional cuisine.
As an increasing amount of Korean animation is being produced for Hollywood films, and/or winning prizes at international animation festivals, Korean animation is proving its growth potential and competitive power. In order for such domestic cartoons and animation to stably develop and maintain firm competitive power in international markets, cartoonists and animators need programs to support their creations, and locations where they can create their works. They also keenly demand the development of various programs and support policies that fit Korea's situation. In addition, if independently produced cartoons and animations have stable locations where they can be shown and commercialized, they can receive public benefits, beyond short-term commercial effects. Based on these views, this study sheds light on the concept, formation, and vitalization of a creation space and resident program, through the intentions of a studio where young and would-be artists create their works. In addition, this study has a significant meaning in that it offers a more effective and positive policy direction, as well as more opportunities to re-educate artists. As a result, it is expected that this study will contribute toward recovering the identity of cartoons and animation, which have been recognized as commercial genres, and to firm up their competitive power in international markets. It also demonstrates that these creation spaces, beyond the simple logic in which a creation space only motivates an artist's desire to create, will help in developing Korean cartoons and animation through cultural and personal exchanges with artists of foreign countries, and through an understanding of other cultures, offer communication programs to connect Seoul and other local communities, and establish the cultural identity of local communities where such creation facilities are located. In this way, the public can more easily understand and access cartoons and animation in their daily lives through these creation spaces.
Traditional music not only reveals Korean culture to foreigners but also it enhances the pride of national identity for Koreans themselves. Objectives of this study are how can we encourage and appreciate traditional music to ordinary visitors (non-musicians). Music festivals could be a means to educate and captivate them towards the appreciation of Korean traditional music. For this purpose, this study checked the satisfaction level between local residents and domestic visitors(including foreigners) concerning music festival programs, and also proposed a practical implications to traditional music organizers. According to the result, local visitors' satisfaction level were higher than other domestic visitors. Visitors showed higher interest in the music instruments like a 'Gayageum' they are able to relate to, rather than with other traditional unfamiliar musical instruments. It is thus crucial to encourage students and ordinary citizens to interact with traditional music instruments so as to enhance the satisfaction levels of domestic visitors. Some practical implications for traditional music organizers are that it is recommendable to have more guides who have thorough knowledge of traditional Korean music and who is able to interpret festival programs in foreign languages for foreign visitors.
