A reliability evaluation or prediction can be defined as MTBF which stands for mean time between failures (Exclusively for repairable failures). Spindle system has huge effect on performance of machine tools and working quality as well as is required of high reliability. Especially, it takes great importance in producing automobiles which includes a large number of working processes. However, it is unusually difficult to predict reliability because there are lack of data and research about reliability of spindle system. Standards and methods of examinations for reliability evaluation of machine tools are scarce at local and abroad as well. Therefore, this research is meant to improve the reliability of spindle system before mass produced with developing standards of reliability and methods of examinations through FMEA to assess reliability of spindle system in prototype stages of developing high speed spindle system of machining center.

This study presented the selection of ozone ($O_3$) potential factors and designed and assessed its potential prediction model using multiple-linear regression equations in Ulsan area during the springtime from April to June, $2000{\sim}2004$. $O_3$ potential factors were selected by analyzing the relationship between meterological parameters and surface $O_3$ concentrations. In addition, cluster analysis (e.g., average linkage and K-means clustering techniques) was performed to identify three major synoptic patterns (e.g., $P1{\sim}P3$) for an $O_3$ potential prediction model. P1 is characterized by a presence of a low-pressure system over northeastern Korea, the Ulsan was influenced by the northwesterly synoptic flow leading to a retarded sea breeze development. P2 is characterized by a weakening high-pressure system over Korea, and P3 is clearly associated with a migratory anticyclone. The stepwise linear regression was performed to develop models for prediction of the highest 1-h $O_3$ occurring in the Ulsan. The results of the models were rather satisfactory, and the high $O_3$ simulation accuracy for $P1{\sim}P3$ synoptic patterns was found to be 79, 85, and 95%, respectively ($2000{\sim}2004$). The $O_3$ potential prediction model for $P1{\sim}P3$ using the predicted meteorological data in 2005 showed good high $O_3$ prediction performance with 78, 75, and 70%, respectively. Therefore the regression models can be a useful tool for forecasting of local $O_3$ concentration.
Accurate knowledge of land use/land cover (LULC) features and their relative changes over upon the time are essential for sustainable urban management. Urban sprawl growth has been always also a worldwide concern that needs to carefully monitor particularly in a developing country where unplanned building constriction has been expanding at a high rate. Recently, remotely sensed imageries with a very high spatial/spectral resolution and state of the art machine learning approaches sent the urban classification and growth monitoring to a higher level. In this research, we classified the Quickbird satellite imagery by object-based image analysis of Dempster-Shafer (OBIA-DS) for the years of 2002 and 2015 at Karbala-Iraq. The real LULC changes including, residential sprawl expansion, amongst these years, were identified via change detection procedure. In accordance with extracted features of LULC and detected trend of urban pattern, the future LULC dynamic was simulated by using land transformation model (LTM) in geospatial information system (GIS) platform. Both classification and prediction stages were successfully validated using ground control points (GCPs) through accuracy assessment metric of Kappa coefficient that indicated 0.87 and 0.91 for 2002 and 2015 classification as well as 0.79 for prediction part. Detail results revealed a substantial growth in building over fifteen years that mostly replaced by agriculture and orchard field. The prediction scenario of LULC sprawl development for 2030 revealed a substantial decline in green and agriculture land as well as an extensive increment in build-up area especially at the countryside of the city without following the residential pattern standard. The proposed method helps urban decision-makers to identify the detail temporal-spatial growth pattern of highly populated cities like Karbala. Additionally, the results of this study can be considered as a probable future map in order to design enough future social services and amenities for the local inhabitants.

A three-dimensional mesoscale atmospheric dispersion modeling system consisting of the Lagrangian particle dispersion model (LPDM) and the meteorological mesoscale model (MM5) was employed to simulate the transport and dispersion of non-reactive pollutant during the nuclear spill event occurred from Sep. 31 to Oct. 3, 1999 in Tokaimura city, Japan. For the comparative analysis of numerical experiment, two more sets of foreign mesoscale modeling system; NCEP (National Centers for Environmental Prediction) and DWD (Deutscher Wetter Dienst) were also applied to address the applicability of air pollution dispersion predictions. We noticed that the simulated results of horizontal wind direction and wind velocity from three meteorological modeling showed remarkably different spatial variations, mainly due to the different horizontal resolutions. How-ever, the dispersion process by LPDM was well characterized by meteorological wind fields, and the time-dependent dilution factors ($\chi$/Q) were found to be qualitatively simulated in accordance with each mesocale meteorogical wind field, suggesting that LPDM has the potential for the use of the real time control at optimization of the urban air pollution provided detailed meteorological wind fields. This paper mainly pertains to the mesoscale modeling approaches, but the results imply that the resolution of meteorological model and the implementation of the relevant scale of air quality model lead to better prediction capabilities in local or urban scale air pollution modeling.

We would like to develop a short-term model to predict the time-related concentration of ozone whose reaction mechanism is complex. The paper targets Seoul where an ozone alert system has recently been employed. In order to develop a short-term prediction model for ozone, we suggested the Ozone Peak Indicator(OPI), an equivalent of the potential daily maximum ozone concentration, with precursors being the only limiting factor, and we calculated the Ozone Peak Indicarot as OPI={$rac{(O_3)_{max}cdot(H_{eH})_{max}(Rad)_{max}$ to preclude the influence of mixing height and solar radiation on the daily maximum ozone concentration. The OPI on the day of the prediction is to be calcultated by using the relation between OPI and the initial value of precursors. The basic prediction formula for time-related ozone concentration was established as $O_3(1)={(OPI)cdot Rad(t-2)H_{eH}}$, using the OPI, solar radiation two hours before prediction and mixing height. We developed, along with the basic formula for predicting photochemical oxidants, "SEOM"(Seoul Empirical Oxidants Model), a Fortran program that helps predict solar radiation and mixing height needed in the prediction of ozone pollution. When this model was applied to Seoul and an analysis of the correlation between the observed and the predicted ozone concentrations was made through SEOM, there appeared a very high correlation, with a coefficient of 0.815. SEOM can be described as a short-term prediction model for ozone concentration in large cities that takes into account the initial values of precursors, and changes in solar radiation and mixing height. SEOM can reflect the local characteristics of a particular and region can yield relatively good prediction results by a simple data input process.t process.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the urban heat island (UHI) intensity and the corresponding surface temperature forecast obtained using the local data assimilation and prediction system (LDAPS) of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) against the AWS observation. The observed UHI intensity in Seoul increases during spring and winter, while it decreases during summer. It is found that the diurnal variability of the UHI intensity peaks at dawn but reaches a minimum in the afternoon. The LDAPS overestimates the UHI intensity in summer but underestimates it in winter. In particular, the model tends to overestimate the UHI intensity during the daytime in summer but underestimate it during the nighttime in winter. Moreover, surface temperature errors decrease in summer but increase in winter. The underestimation of the winter UHI intensity appears to be associated with weak forecasting of urban temperature in winter. However, the overestimated summer UHI intensity results from the underestimation of the suburban temperature forecast in summer. In order to improve the predictability of the UHI intensity, an urban canopy model (MORUSES) that considers urban effects was combined with LDAPS and used for simulation for the summer of 2017. The surface temperature forecast for the city was improved significantly by adopting MORUSES, and there were remarkable improvements in urban surface temperature morning forecasts. The urban canopy model produced an improvement effect that weakened the intensity of the UHI, which showed an overestimation during summer.
With the development of information technology, the size of insurance fraud is increasing rapidly every year, and the method is being organized and advanced in conspiracy. Although various forms of prediction models are being studied to predict and detect this, insurance-related information is highly sensitive, which poses a high risk of sharing and access and has many legal or technical constraints. In this paper, we propose a machine learning insurance fraud prediction model based on blockchain, one of the most popular technologies with the recent advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We utilize blockchain technology to realize a safe and trusted insurance information sharing system, apply the theory of social relationship analysis for more efficient and accurate fraud prediction, and propose machine learning fraud prediction patterns in four stages. Claims with high probability of fraud have the effect of being detected at a higher prediction rate at an earlier stage, and claims with low probability are applied differentially for post-reference management. The core mechanism of the proposed model has been verified by constructing an Ethereum local network, requiring more sophisticated performance evaluations in the future.

This study was conducted to performance appraisal of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs), especially in terms of performance on development & reduction plan and water quality status of unit watershed. Because load allocations for pollution sources were predicted redundantly by uncertainty of prediction, TMDLs master plan has been frequently changed to acquire load allocation for local development. Therefore, It need to be developed more resonable prediction techniques of water pollution sources to preventing the frequent change. It is suggested that the reduction amount have to be distributed properly during the planning period. In other words, it has not to be concentrated on the specific year (especially final year of the planning period). The reason why, if the reduction amount concentrate on the final year of the planning period, allotment loading amount could not be achieved in some cases (e.g., insufficiency of budget, extension of construction duration). If the development plan was developed including uncertain developments, it is necessary to be developed reduction plan considered with them. However, some of the plans in the reduction plan could not be accomplished in some case. Because, it is not considered financial abilities of local governments. Consequently, development plan must be accomplished to avoid uncertain developments, and to consider financial assistance to support the implementation of effective plan. Water quality has been improved in many unit watersheds due to the TMDLs, especially in geum river and yeongsang/seomjin river.
A social phenomenon that occurs in a physical space is said to be a complex system. However, space syntax, which is commonly employed by researchers to identify such social phenomena, has various limitations in interpreting their complexity. On the other hand, agent-based modeling considers a variety of factors including the personality of the agent, objective-oriented work flows, estimation according to time flows and better prediction of space use through diverse parameters depending the situation, as well as the characteristics of the space. The agent-based method thus has the potentials to be developed as an alternative to space syntax techniques. In particular, discrete event driven simulation(DEVS), which is part of the agent-based modeling method, embraces the concept of networks just like space syntax, which allows a possible theoretical linkage in the future. This study suggests a procedural model of agent-based DEVS reflecting two different connection methods, i.e. connections between adjacent areas and those of the entire space, and attempts to identify the relationship between the local and regional indices of space syntax. A number of spaces were selected as examples-one for a preliminary experiment and eight modified for the main experiment-and space syntax and DEVS were applied to each of them. The comparative analysis of the results led to the conclusions as follows: 1) Adjacent connections were closely related to local indices, while the whole-space approach to regional indices. Local integration shows both characteristics. 2) Observation of the time flow model indicated a faster convergence with the range of 1 to 3-fold of the total time of one lap, with the error of less than 10%. 3) The heat map analysis showed more obvious characteristics of using the space for the entire space rather than adjacent connections. 4) Space syntax shows higher eligibility than ABM.
The initial and boundary conditions are important factors in regional chemical transport modeling systems. The method of generating the chemical boundary conditions for regional air quality models tends to be different from the dynamically varying boundary conditions in global chemical transport models. In this study, the impact of real time Copernicus atmosphere monitoring service (CAMS) re-analysis data from the modeling atmospheric composition and climate project interim implementation (MACC) on the regional air quality in the Korean Peninsula was carried out using the community multi-scale air quality modeling system (CMAQ). A comparison between conventional global data and CAMS for numerical assessments was also conducted. Although the horizontal resolution of the CAMS re-analysis data is not higher than the conventionally provided data, the simulated particulate matter (PM) concentrations with boundary conditions for CAMS re-analysis is more reasonable than any other data, and the estimation accuracy over the entire Korean peninsula, including the Seoul and Daegu metropolitan areas, was improved. Although an inland area such as the Daegu metropolitan area often has large uncertainty in PM prediction, the level of improvement in the prediction for the Daegu metropolitan area is higher than in the coastal area of the western part of the Korean peninsula.
