Conventional LDO regulator external capacitors can reduce transient response characteristics such as overshoot and undershoot. However, the capacitorless LDO regulator proposed in this study applied body technology to the pass transistor to improve the transient response and provide excellent current drive capability. The operating conditions of the proposed LDO regulator are set to an input voltage that varies from 3.3V to 4.5V, a maximum load current of 200mA, and an output voltage of 3V. As a result of the measurement, it was found that when the load current was 100 mA, the voltage was 95 mV in the undershoot state and 105 mV in the overshoot state.
In this paper present Low Drop-Out (LDO) regulator that improved load transient characteristics due to the push-pull detection structure. The response characteristic of the voltage delta value is improved due to the proposed push-pull sensing circuit structure between the input terminal of the LDO regulator pass transistor and the output terminal of the internal error amplifier. Voltage value has improved load transient characteristics than conventional LDO regulator. Compared to the conventional LDO regulator, it has an improved response speed of approximately 244 ns at rising time and approximately 90 ns at falling time. The proposed circuit was simulated by the samsung 0.13um process using Cadence's Specter and Virtuoso simulator.

Vibration transient generated by developing localized fault in gear can be used as indicators in gear fault detection. In this paper, we propose the zoomed phase map for a fault signal using continuous wavelet transfers to detect this vibration transient. Local fault induces the abrupt fluctuation of load exciting tooth and phase lag in the vibration signal measured on the gearbox. The relatively large fault like "tip breakage" easily can be detected by the clear fluctuation of exciting load. However, minor fault like "initial pitting"cannot be detected using the load fluctuation. To defect this kind of minor fault, the phase map for a fault signal is taken into account. The phase lag by minor fault is observed well in the zoomed phase map.

The utility-interactive inverter with critical loads should supply continuous and stable voltage to critical loads even during the grid fault. The conventional control method which performs current control for grid-connected mode and voltage control for stand-alone mode undergoes the critical load voltage variation during grid fault. The critical load voltage may have large transient when the inverter performs mode transfer after the islanding detection. Recently, the indirect current control method which does not have the transient state during not only islanding detection but also the mode transfer has been proposed. However, since the voltage control is maintained even during the grid-connected mode it is difficult to detect the islanding. This paper proposes an active anti-islanding method suitable for the indirect current control method which does not have NDZ(Non-Detection Zone).
This paper proposes an autonomous decentralized control for a parallel connected uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system based on a fast power detection method using a FPGA based hardware controller for a single phase system. Each UPS unit detects only its output voltage and current without communications signal exchange and a quasi dq transformation method is applied to detect the phase and amplitude of the output voltage and the output current for the single phase system. Fast power detection can be achieved based on a quasi dq transformation, which results in a realization of very fast transient response under rapid load change. In the proposed method, the entire control system is implemented in one FPGA chip. Complicated calculations are assigned to hardware calculation logic, and the parallel processing circuit makes it possible to realize minimized calculation time. Also, an Nios II CPU core is implemented in the same FPGA chip, and the software can be applied for non-time critical calculations. Applying this control system, an autonomous decentralized UPS system with very fast transient response is realized. Feasibility and stable operation are confirmed by means of an experimental setup with three UPSs connected in parallel. Also, rapid load change is applied and excellent performance of the system is confirmed in terms of transient response and stability.
Dynamic behavior of the harmonic detection part of an active power filter (APF) has an essential role in filter compensation performances during transient conditions. Instantaneous power (p-q) theory is extensively used to design harmonic detectors for active filters. Large overshoot of p-q theory method deteriorates filter response at a large and rapid load change. In this study the harmonic estimation of an APF during transient conditions for balanced three-phase nonlinear loads is conducted. A novel fuzzy instantaneous power (FIP) theory is proposed to improve conventional p-q theory dynamic performances during transient conditions to adapt automatically to any random and rapid nonlinear load change. Adding fuzzy rules in p-q theory improves the decomposition of the alternating current components of active and reactive power signals and develops correct reference during rapid and random current variation. Modifying p-q theory internal high-pass filter performance using fuzzy rules without any drawback is a prospect. In the simulated system using MATLAB/SIMULINK, the shunt active filter is connected to a rapidly time-varying nonlinear load. The harmonic detection parts of the shunt active filter are developed for FIP theory-based and p-q theory-based algorithms. The harmonic detector hardware is also developed using the TMS320F28335 digital signal processor and connected to a laboratory nonlinear load. The software is developed for FIP theory-based and p-q theory-based algorithms. The simulation and experimental tests results verify the ability of the new technique in harmonic detection of rapid changing nonlinear loads.
The feedback voltage detection structure is proposed to alleviate overshoot and undershoot caused by the removal of the existing external output capacitor. Conventional LDO regulators suffer from overshoot and undershoot caused by imbalances in the power supply voltage. Therefore, the proposed LDO is designed to have a more improved transient response to form a new control path while maintaining only the feedback path of the conventional LDO regulator. A new control path detects overshoot and undershoot events in the output stage. Accordingly, the operation speed of the pass element is improved by charging and discharging the current of the gate node of the pass element. LDO regulators with feedback voltage sensing architecture operate over an input voltage range of 3.3V to 4.5V and have a load current of up to 200mA at an output voltage of 3V. According to the simulation result, when the load current is 200mA, it is 73mV under the undershoot condition and 61mV under the overshoot condition.

An experimental study has been peformed to develop a scheme for fault detection and diagnosis(FDD) in a vapor compression refrigeration system. This study is to analyze fault effect on the system performance and to find efficient diagnosis rules for easy determination of abnormal system operation. The refrigeration system was operated with a variable speed compressor to modulate cooling capacity. The FDD system was designed to consider transient load conditions. Four major faults were considered, and each fault was detected over wide operating load range by separating the system response to the load change. Rule-based method was used to diagnose and classify the system faults. From the experimental results, COP degradation due to the faults in a variable speed system is severer than that in a constant speed system. The method developed in this study can be used in the fault detection of refrigeration systems with a variable speed compressor.

Infrared (IR) detectors are widely used for many applications, such as temperature measurement, intruder and fire detection, robotics and industrial equipment, thermoelstic stress analysis, medical diagnostics, and chemical analysis. Quantum detectors commonly need to be refrigerated below 80 K, and thus a cooling system should be equipped together with the detector system. The cooling load, which should be removed by the cooling system to maintain the nominal operating temperature of the detector, critically depends on the insulation efficiency of the cryochamber housing the detector. Thermal analysis of cryochamber includes the conduction heat transfer through a cold well, the gases conduction and gas outgassing, as well as radiation heat transfer, The transient cooling characteristics of an infrared detector cryochamber are investigated experimentally in the present study. The transient cooling load increases as the gas pressure is increased. Gas pressure becomes significant as the cooling process proceeds. Cool down time is also increased as the gas pressure is increased. It is also found that natural convection effects on cool down time become significant when the gas pressure is increased.
Identification of steady-state is the first step in developing a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) system. In a complete FDD system, the steady-state detector will be included as a module in a self-learning algorithm which enables the working system's reference model to "tune" itself to its particular installation. In this study, a steady-state detector of a residential air conditioner based on moving windows was designed. Seven representing measurements were selected as key features for steady-state detection. The optimized moving window size and the feature thresholds was suggested through startup transient test and no-fault steady-state test. Performance of the steady-state detector was verified during indoor load change test. From the research, the general methodology to design a moving window steady-state detector was provided for vapor compression applications.
