  • As modern warfare has changed into network centered, the ability to share situational awareness among allies become a core competency for performing operational missions. In an airborne environment, it uses a tactical data link such as Link-16 for shared situational awareness. There exist problems when it shares situational awareness over the existing data link that can not allocate slots dynamically or that can not change the number of a slot to be allocated. In addition, there was a problem that can not share this failure so that failed to improves situation awareness because of finite time slot resources. In this paper, we accommodate dynamic slot allocation and changes of slot allocation with mixed structure of TDMA (time division multiple access) and random access. We propose a technique that can be used when available slots are exhausted, and a load balancing method to prevent slot allocation delay when slot requesting or message sending is concentrated on a single subframe.

  • This paper presents a new hybrid soft switching dc-dc converter with a low circulating current and high circuit efficiency. The proposed hybrid converter includes two sub-converters sharing two power switches. One is a three-level PWM converter and the other is a LLC converter. The LLC converter and the three-level converter share the lagging-leg switches and extend the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) range of the lagging-leg switches from nearly zero to full load since the LLC converter can be operated at fsw (switching frequency) $\approx$ fr (series resonant frequency). A passive snubber is used on the secondary side of the three-level converter to decrease the circulating current on the primary side, especially at high input voltage and full load conditions. Thus, the conduction losses due to the circulating current are reduced. The output sides of the two converters are connected in series. Energy can be transferred from the input voltage to the output load within the whole switching period. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed converter is verified by experiments with a 1.44kW prototype circuit.

  • This paper studies a new three-level pulse-width modulation (PWM) resonant converter for high input voltage and high load current applications. In order to use high frequency power MOSFETs for high input voltage applications, a three-level DC converter with two clamped diodes and a flying capacitor is adopted in the proposed circuit. For high load current applications, the secondary sides of the proposed converter are connected in parallel to reduce the size of the magnetic core and copper windings and to decrease the current rating of the rectifier diodes. In order to share the load current and reduce the switch counts, three resonant converters with the same active switches are adopted in the proposed circuit. Two transformers with a series connection in the primary side and a parallel connection in the secondary side are adopted in each converter to balance the secondary side currents. To overcome the drawback of a wide range of switching frequencies in conventional series resonant converters, the duty cycle control is adopted in the proposed circuit to achieve zero current switching (ZCS) turn-off for the rectifier diodes and zero voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on for the active switches. Finally, experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.

  • In the microgrid, inverters for energy storage system are generally constructed in a parallel structure because of capacity expandability, convenience of system maintenance, and reliability improvement. Parallel inverters are required to provide stable voltage to the critical load in PCC and to accurately share the current between each inverter. Furthermore, when islanding occurs, the inverters should change its operating mode from grid-connected mode to stand-alone mode. However, during clearing time and control mode change, the conventional control method has a negative impact on the critical load, that is, severe fluctuating voltage. In this study, a parallel operation control method is proposed. This method provides seamless mode transfer for the entire transition period, including clearing time and control mode change, and has accurate current sharing between each inverter. The proposed control method is validated through simulation and experiment.

  • Power packet (PP) distribution system distributes power to different loads that share the same distribution cable in a packetized form. When compared with conventional power systems, a PP distribution system (PPDS) can reduce standby power, eliminate Point-of-Load (PoL) power conversion, and intelligently control the load demand from the source side. Due to the absence of PoL conversion, when multiple power sources at different voltage levels and conditioning requirements jointly send power to various loads at different voltage ratings, the generated voltage has an irregular shape. A large filter at each of the load sides is required to reduce such a large voltage ripple. In this paper, a single-inductor, multiple-input-single-output converter structure based multiple-energy-source mixer is proposed. It combines PP generation, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of renewable energy sources (RESs) and filtering at the source side. To demonstrate the possible renewable energy integration, a PV panel is used as a power source together with other constant voltage sources. The PV power is approximately tracked using the constant voltage method and it is used for each of the PP generations. The proposed PP distribution system is experimentally verified and it is shown that a conventional PI controller is sufficient for stable system operation.

  • The advantages of employing SCTP-based Concurrent Multipath Transfer (CMT) have been demonstrated to be very useful for data delivery over multi-homed wireless networks. However, there is still significant ongoing work addressing some remaining limitations and challenges. The most important concern when applying CMT to data delivery is related to handling packet reordering and buffer blocking. Another concern on this topic is that current sender-based CMT solutions seldom consider balancing the overhead and sharing the load between the sender and receiver. This paper proposes a novel Receiver-driven Cooperation-based Concurrent Multipath Transfer solution (CMT-Rev) with the following aims: (i) to balance overhead and share load between the sender and receiver, by moving some functions including congestion and flow control from the sender onto receiver; (ii) to mitigate the data reordering and buffer blocking problems, by using an adaptive receiver-cooperative path aggregation model, (iii) to adaptively transmit packets over multiple paths according to their receiver-inspired sending rate values, by employing a new receiver-aware data distribution scheduler. Simulation results show that CMT-Rev outperforms the existing CMT solutions in terms of data delivery performance.

  • This paper is to simulate a solar hot water heating system used in a medium-scale office building using the dynamic simulation. This study is focused chiefly on the annual variation of energy performance, the solar fraction with respect to the difference of hot water load temperature. For this purpose the simple model of a solar hot water heating system has been considered with TRNSYS program and the simulations were performed with the weather data in Seoul, Korea. The share ratio of solar hot water system of the summer season appeared higher than the winter season because that the decrease of the domestic hot water load was far despite the relative decrease of the solar radiation. As the temperature was lower from $60^{\circ}C$ to $50^{\circ}C$, the solar fraction increases 8.1 percent due to 20-percent decrease of annual hot water load.

  • The various services applied internet have been provided by the rapid development of wireless networks and providing multimedia contents are also increasing. It is caused a number of problems such as increasing of network traffic rapidly. P2P technique is gaining popularity for solving these problems. In particular, P2P technique in a wireless network environment has gained much popularity. Among them, MANET-based P2P techniques has been studied actively. It is not easy to be applied the existing technique as it is due to the dynamic topology and low bandwidth by moving nodes in MANET that is consisted of only mobile nodes. In this paper, we proposed sharing group construction technique for providing a stable connection between mobile nodes and reducing the load of network traffic and overhead of sharing group reconfiguration in order to improve data transmission performance between mobile nodes. The sharing group member nodes applied virtual sharing group generation technique with neighboring nodes of 1-hop distance in order to reduce traffic for file sharing. We performed comparative experiments with DHT technique to evaluate the performance of the proposed technique in this paper and the excellent performance is confirmed through experiments.

  • A general goal of the AT%(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network is to support connect across various network. On ATM networks, ABR services are provided using the remained ban after allocation CBR and VBR traffic. Realtime services such as transmitting audio or video data may be provided using CBR ado VBR which have a constrained transmission delay, but in these cases, the communications bandwidth may be wasted. In this paper a simulation has been performed to compare and evaluate the performance between the ERICA(Explicit Rate Indicate Avoidance) and EPRCA(Enhanced Proportional Rate Control Algorithm) switches which use Explicit Rate switch algorithm for ABR switch. The variation of the ACR at the source end system, the queue length, the utilization rate of the link bandwidth and the share fairness at the transient and steady states are used as the evaluation criteria for the simulation. As a result of simulation, ERICA algorithm switch was ten times long compared to ERPCA switch to achieve assigned fair share. so EPRCA switch is superior to ERICA about load response. For Fair share and stability, ERICA switch is excellent to EPRCA switch.
