냉장고 사이클 특성에 미치는 열손실량의 영향 (Effect of heat Leak on Cycle Characteristics of Refrigerator)

  • The refrigerator consists of many components such as compressor condenser expansion valve evaporator and the cabinet which filled by urethane foam. In this paper the heat leakage of refriger-ator is measured by the new experiment method which is different from a present method, The devi-ation of the UA(overall heat transfer coefficient times area) between the simulation and experiments is about 7-8%. Using the modeling of various components of refrigeration system a performance analysos of CFC 12 and HFC 134a is performed numerically on the UA. As the results of this study according to increase the heat leakage the refrigeration load and mass flow rate of refrigerant are increased. And the increase of the mass flow rate results in the increase of the condensing and evapo-rating temperature. Therefore according to increase of the heat leakage the COP leads to increase because the increase of refrigeration capacity is larger than the increase if compressor power.

R134a용 터보냉동기의 성능시험 (Performance Test of a R134a Centrifugal Water Chiller)

  • A centrifugal water chiller using alternative refrigerant R134a have been developed. The prototype was designed to have refrigeration capacity of 300RT. Its compressor employs a single high-speed impeller, airfoil diffuser and collector. Newly developed enhanced tubes were installed in the evaporator and the condenser to reduce the required head for the compressor. Off-design characteristics at various conditions, performance test of the compressor and analysis of the refrigeration cycle were performed. So the probability of use in part load condition was checked and the direction for revision was suggested.

Probability-based design charts for stone column-improved ground

  • A simplified probability-based design charts for stone column-improved ground have been presented based on the unit cell approach. The undrained cohesion ($c_u$) and coefficient of radial consolidation ($c_r$) of the soft soil are taken as the most predominant random variables. The design charts are developed to estimate the diameter of the stone column or the spacing between the stone columns by employing a factored design value of $c_r$ and $c_u$ so as to satisfy a specific probability level of the target degree of consolidation and/or a target safe load that needs to be achieved in a specified timeframe. The design charts can be used by the practicing engineers to design the stone column-improved ground by considering consolidation and /or bearing capacity of the improved ground.

  • 일반적으로 기초는 여러 개의 단일말뚝이 상부 구조체에 의해 연결된 상태로 군말뚝을 의미한다. 하지만, 군말뚝에 상부 하중 재하 시 지반에 작용하는 응력 범위는 단일말뚝에 비해 더 넓은 폭과 깊이로 확장되고, 중복되기 때문에 전체적인 지지력은 감소할 수 있다. 이러한 지지력 감소비를 군말뚝 효율이라 하나 일반적인 말뚝과 지반의 접촉 조건에 따른 영향을 분석한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지반 구성 및 군말뚝의 배치, 간격, 지반과 말뚝간의 접촉 특성을 해석 변수로 설정하고, 군말뚝 효율 및 군말뚝을 구성하는 개별말뚝의 거동을 분석하였다. 해석 결과, 지반 종류에 따라 마찰계수 증가 시 군말뚝 효율은 수렴 또는 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 이를 통해 최적 군말뚝 효율을 분석하였다. 또한, 개별말뚝 분석을 통한 하중 감소비 파악 결과, 군말뚝 내부에 위치한 말뚝의 경우 하중을 상대적으로 적게 받았으며, 이는 내부 지반에 대한 영향인 것으로 판단된다.

마이크로 ESPI기법을 이용한 동 박막의 인장 특성 측정 (Measurement of Tensile Properties of Copper Foil using Micro-ESPI Technique)

  • Micro-tensile testing system, consisting of a micro tensile loading system and micro-ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) system, has been developed for measurement of micro-tensile properties of thin micro-materials. Micro-tensile loading system had a load cell with the maximum capacity of 50N and micro actuator with resolution of 4.5nm in stroke. The system was used to apply a tensile load to the micro-sized specimen. During tensile loading, the micro-ESPI system acquired interferornetric speckle patterns in the deformed specimen and measured the in-plane tensile strain. The ESPI system consisted of a CCD-camera with a lens and the window-based program developed for this experiment. Using this system, stress-strain curves for 4 kinds of electrolytic copper foil 18$\square$m thick were obtained. From these curves, tensile properties, including the elastic modulus. yielding strength and tensile strength, were determined and also values of the plastic exponent and coefficient based on Ramberg-Osgood relationship were evaluated.

철도차량용 고무스프링 특성해석 및 평가 (Finite Element Analysis and Evaluation of Rubber Spring for Railway Vehicle)

  • Chevron rubber springs are used in primary suspensions for rail vehicle. Chevron rubber spring have function which reduce vibration and noise, support load carried in operation of rail vehicle. Prediction and evaluation of characteristics are very important in design procedure to assure the safety and reliability of the rubber spring. The computer simulation using the nonlinear finite element analysis program executed to predict and evaluate the load capacity and stiffness for the chevron spring. The non-linear properties of rubber which are described as strain energy functions are important parameters. These are determined by material tests which are uniaxial tension, equi-biaxial tension and shear test. The appropriate shape and material properties are proposed to adjust the required characteristics of rubber springs in the three modes of flexibility.

절리면의 거칠기에 따른 암석 절리의 전단강도 및 변형거동에 관한 연구 (Shear Strength and Deformation Behavior of Rock Joint with Roughness)

  • Direct shear tests were carried out on the rock joints and artificial discontinuities to investigate the influence of joint roughness on the shear strength and deformation behaviour. Single direct shear testing apparatus used in experiment was designed and manufactured. Its capacity is 200 tons of shear load, 20 tons of normal load and 50$\textrm{cm}^2$ of maximum shear area. Test samples were cement mortar with artificial discontinuity and sandstone with natural joint. Peak shear strength was increased as joint roughness or normal stress was increased, especially, linearly increased with roughness angle in cement mortar. If joint roughness angle was constant at low normal stress, shear strength was not affected by width and height of joint roughness in cement mortar. Peak shear strengths obtained from tests were larger than the values calculated by Barton's equation, and shear stiffness was increased with joint roughness coefficient.

Static behaviour of multi-row stud shear connectors in high- strength concrete

  • In regions of high shear forces in composite bridges, headed stud shear connectors need to be arranged with a small spacing in order to satisfy the design requirement of resisting the high interface shear force present at this location. Despite this, studies related to groups of headed studs are somewhat rare. This paper presents an investigation of the static behaviour of grouped stud shear connectors in high-strength concrete. Descriptions are given of five push-out test specimens with different arrangements of the studs that were fabricated and tested, and the failure modes, load-slip response, ultimate load capacities and related slip values that were obtained are reported. It is found that the load-slip equation given by some researchers based on a single stud shear connector in normal strength concrete do not apply to grouped stud shear connectors in high-strength concrete, and an algebraic load-slip expression is proposed based on the test results. Comparisons between the test results and the formulae provided by some national codes show that the equations for the ultimate capacity provided in these codes are conservative when used for connectors in high-strength concrete. A reduction coefficient is proposed to take into account the effect of the studs being in a group.

Reliability analysis of external and internal stability of reinforced soil under static and seismic loads

  • In this study, the reliability analysis of internal and external stabilities of Reinforced Soil Walls (RSWs) under static and seismic loads are investigated so that it can help the geotechnical engineers to perform the design more realistically. The effect of various variables such as angle of internal soil friction, soil specific gravity, tensile strength of the reinforcements, base friction, surcharge load and finally horizontal earthquake acceleration are examined assuming the variables uncertainties. Also, the correlation coefficient impact between variables, sensitivity analysis, mean change, coefficient of variation and type of probability distribution function were evaluated. In this research, external stability (sliding, overturning and bearing capacity) and internal stability (tensile rupture and pull out) in both static and seismic conditions were investigated. Results of this study indicated sliding as the predominant failure mode in the external stability and reinforcing rupture in the internal stability. First-Order Reliability Method (FORM) are applied to estimate the reliability index (or failure probability) and results are validated using the Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method. The results showed among all variables, the internal friction angle and horizontal earthquake acceleration have dominant impact on the both reinforced soil wall internal and external stabilities limit states. Also, the type of probability distribution function affects the reliability index significantly and coefficient of variation of internal friction angle has the greatest influence in the static and seismic limits states compared to the other variables.

KURT 내 열전달계수 결정에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Determination of Heat Transfer Coefficient for the KURT)

  • 고준위 방사성 폐기물 처분장의 경우 폐기물의 방사성 붕괴에 의해 발열 현상이 나타나게 되며, 암반을 통한 열전달에 의해 처분장 주변 환경이 변화됨으로써 처분장의 안전성에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 그러므로 처분장의 안전성 확보를 위해선 적절한 처분장 내 환기장치가 필요하다. 적절한 환기시스템의 구축을 위해서는 암반 열물성치와 처분장 내 열전달계수의 산정을 통한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 연구가 핵심이라고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 KAERI Underground Research Tunnel(이하 KURT) 내부 환경 인자(건습구온도, 암반표면온도, 대기압)들의 측정을 통해 열전달계수를 산정하는 것에 초점을 맞추었다. KURT 내부 우측 연구모듈의 막장 벽면에 길이 2 m, 용량 5 kw의 히터가 $90^{\circ}C$로 암반 내부를 가열하고 있는 히터구간의 열전달계수 산정 결과, 태양의 위치에 따른 처분장 외부 대기의 온도변화에 의해 열전달계수의 수치 변화가 최대 7.9% 발생하였으며, 평균 열전달계수 h는 약 4.533 W/$m^2{\cdot}K$의 수치를 나타내었다.
