  • Load measurement, which is performed based on IEC 61400-13, consists of three stages: the stage of collecting huge amounts of load measurement data through a measurement campaign lasting for several months; the stage of processing the measured data, including data validation and classification; and the stage of analyzing the processed data through time series analysis, load statistics analysis, frequency analysis, load spectrum analysis, and equivalent load analysis. In this research, we pursued the development of an analysis software in MATLAB to save labor and to secure exact and consistent performance evaluation data in processing and analyzing load measurement data. The completed analysis software also includes the functions of processing and analyzing power performance measurement data in accordance with IEC 61400-12. The analysis software was effectively applied to process and analyse the load measurement data from a demonstration research for a 750 kW direct-drive wind turbine generator system (KBP-750D), performed at the Daegwanryeong Wind Turbine Demonstration Complex. This paper describes the details of the analysis software and its processing and analysis stages for load measurement data and presents the analysis results.

  • Some conventional lateral load patterns for pushover analysis, and proposing a new accurate pattern was investigated in present research. The new proposed load pattern has load distribution according weight and stiffness variation in height and mode shape of structure. The assessment of pushover application with mentioned pattern in X type braced steel frames and steel moment resisting frames, with stiffness and mass variation in height, was studied completely and the obtained results were compared with nonlinear dynamic analysis method (including time history analysis). The methods were compared from standpoints of some basic parameters such as displacement, drift and shape of lateral load pattern. It is concluded that proposed load pattern results are closer to nonlinear dynamic analysis (NDA) compared to other pushover load patterns especially in tall and medium-rise buildings having different stiffness and mass during the height.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the J-R curve characteristics for the 5083 aluminum alloy weldment by the load ratio analysis. The results of the load ratio analysis are compared with those of the J-R curve which are obtained by the ASTM unloading compliance method. The crack length calculated by the load ratio analysis is agrees well with the measured final crack length. The slope of the exponential J-R curve estimated by the load ratio analysis is slightly smaller than that by the ASTM unloading compliance method. The exponential correlation of the J-R curve for the 5083 aluminum alloy base metal by the load ratio analysis is J = 93.88 ${\Delta}{\alpha}^{0.375}$. That for the weld metal and HAZ is J = 69.87 ${\Delta}{\alpha}^{0.389}$ and J = 70.59 ${\Delta}{\alpha}^{0.359}$ respectively. The J-R curve obtained by the ASTM unloading compliance method is overpredicted and should be offsetted due to the initial negative crack. On the other hand, the load ratio analysis method can evaluate the J-R curve by only load displacement curve without particular crack measurement equipment.

  • This paper examined the probabilistic load analysis for the tailplane during pitching maneuvering in the conceptual aircraft design phase. The flight load analysis based on the probabilistic distribution of design variables are compared with the results of the deterministic analysis. Two forms of variable distribution are used in this paper. One is standard normal distribution, the other distribution is calculated from the results of short-period longitudinal equation of aircraft motion. The influence of the distribution parameter on the probabilistic load analysis was investigated and the significant design variables that have an impact on the mean and variance of probabilistic load were identified. The comparison indicates that probabilistic load analysis provides more reliable probabilistic load distribution for the structural design than the traditional deterministic analysis.

  • In this study, an artificial wheel load generation method is proposed to assist practical engineers performing dynamic analysis with simple procedure. To generate an artificial wheel loads from running vehicle, PSD(Power Spectrum Density) profiles of actual wheel load were sampled in terms of various road roughnesses. A detailed truck and bridge models were used for sampling actual wheel load to represent the real motion of moving vehicle. These wheel load profiles were simplified for the artificial wheel load. The simplification of actual wheel load profiles was performed by regression analysis. The result showed that the artificial wheel load well represents the real profiles of wheel load.

  • Limit load of pressure bearing structures was reviewed in this article. By means of the finite element analysis, limit load of pressurized cylinder with nozzle was taken as an example. Stress classification method and Elastic-plastic finite element analysis combining with limit load determination methods were used to determine limit load of cylinder with nozzle. Comparison of limit load determined by different methods, the results indicated that limit load determined by linearization method was the smallest. Limit load determined by twice elastic slope criterion was the nearest than experimental results. Elastic-plastic finite element analysis had comparably computational precision, but required time consuming. And then the requirements of computer processing and storage capacity by power system became higher and higher. Most of criteria for limit load estimation included any human factors based on a certain substantive characteristics of experimental results. The reasonable criterion should be objective and operational.

  • In this study, we recognized about application of the load distribution factor for design of tunnel in 3D numerical analysis. Generally, load distribution factor of tunnel is applied to describe 3D arching effect that can not describe when 2D numerical analysis. Through result of 3D numerical analysis, we used to apply in numerical analysis for the load distribution factor that ratio of finally displacement to displacement of construction step. But 3D numerical analysis need to apply to load distribution factor for convenience of numerical analysis. Therefore, we proposed load distribution factor that reduce time and coast. It corrected variable of advanced length in load distribution factor of 3D numerical analysis.

  • Pushover analysis captures the behavior of a structure from fully elastic to collapse. In this analysis, the structure is subjected to increasing lateral load with constant gravity one. Neglecting the effects of the higher modes and the changes in the vibration characteristics during the nonlinear analysis are the main obstacles of the proposed lateral load patterns. To overcome these drawbacks, whereas some methods have been presented to achieve updated lateral load distribution, these methods are not precisely capable to predict the response of structures, precisely. In this study, a new method based on optimization procedure is developed to obtain a lateral load pattern for which the difference between the floor displacements of pushover and Nonlinear Dynamic Analyses (NDA) is minimal. For this purpose, an optimization problem is considered and the genetic algorithm is applied to calculate optimal lateral load pattern. Three special moment resisting steel frames with different dynamic characteristics are simulated and their optimal load patterns are derived. The floor displacements of these frames subjected to the proposed and conventional load patterns are acquired and the accuracy of them is evaluated via comparing with NDA responses. The outcomes reveal that the proposed lateral load distribution is more accurate than the previous ones.

  • The field of load modeling has attracted the attention since it plays an important role for improving the accuracy of stability analysis and power flow estimation. Also, load modeling is an essential factor in the simulation and evaluation of power system performance. However, conventional load modeling techniques have some limitations with respect to accuracy for nonlinear and composite loads. Thus, precision load modeling technique and reasonable application method is needed for more accurate power system analysis. In this paper, we develop an intelligent load modeling method based. on neural network and application techniques for power system. The proposed method makes it possible to effectively estimate the load model for nonlinear models as well as linear models. Reasonable application method is also proposed for stability analysis. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed method, various experiments are performed and their results are presented.
