  • In the previous test, the verification of the standard floor impact source was carried out comparing the physical characteristics with living impact sources. The result was appeared the validation of the standard impact source was very low because of differences of physical characteristics. This study aims to evaluate annoyance and loudness of standard impact source which is used for the measurement of floor impact sound, and to compare the annoyance and loudness of living impact sources which are produced in real life. The impact sources considered are tapping machine, tire and impact ball as standard sources, and nine real sources which were chosen from the existing researches. The result showed differences of annoyance and loudness between standard impact sources and living impact sources, which means the standard impact sources may rate the performance of floor system inappropriately. In the future, the rating method should be examined how the standard impact sources are similar with real sources in the point of rating the performance of floor system.

The subjects were the elderly couple households over the age 65 of household head. Total number of subject was 1,649 households. Used data was Annual Report surveyed by National Statistical Office on the Family Income and Expenditure. Analysis of data was done through frequency, percentage, means, median using SAS Program. The results of this study were as follows: Their standard living cost was 844,980 won by pure relative standard line and 842,300 won by quasi relative standard lines. And minimum living cost was 713,400 won by the former, by the latter was 557,600 won (3/2 of median). And abundant Living cost was 1,068,020 won by the former, by the latter 1,263,450 won. The living cost of elderly households was about 81-83%, comparing with non-elderly households. Among the item of expenditure, the proportion of housing and medical care cost was larger than any other items.

  • The standard impact sources, standardized to rate the sound insulation performance of floor structure, should simulate well the real floor impact sources, which is very important to grade the floor structure then to establish counter plan to improve the performance of floor. Recently the tire, the standard heavyweight impact source, has been discussed that the impact force is too big to represent the real impact force. And researches have been carried on the applicability as a substitute or a supplementary. In addition, tapping machine, the standard lightweight impact source, is also questionable if it is representative of real lightweight impact source. This study aims to examine the similarity of standard impact sources with living impact sources, comparing the physical characteristics such as impact force, frequency contents and sound level. The result showed that the physical characteristics of standard impact sounds were somewhat different with that of living impact sounds, and the standard sources couldn't be verified from this result. Later subjective evaluation should be followed to compare how the physical differences make relationship with the subjective differences.

The results of this study indicated that Korean consumers eagerly aspired socially oriented standard of living which is farely materially oriented and mainly composed of a fixed list of famous brands. The physiological and welfare elements of the standard of living were not expressed in 12 narrators' stories. The personal and individual elements were also expressed within a limited extend. • The purpose of this study was to examine the determinants of expenditure adequacy of eldery households. Data for this study were collected from 2002 House Income and Expenditure Survey of Korea National Statistical Office, which is consisting of a sample of 918 eldery households. Expenditure adequacy was investigated by the Spending to Income ratio and Expenditure to Minimum standard of living ratio. The results showed that 48% of households spent more than 100% of their taken-home income or less than the minimum standard of living. Multiple logistic regression was used to investigate the determinants of expenditure adequacy. Gender, age, education, job status, family size, and level of income were significant determinants of spending to income ratio and Expenditure to Minimum standard of living ratio. Family size had negative effect on expenditure adequacy, householder's job status and the level of income had positive relationship with it.

  • The aim of this study is to offer the basic data concerning the architectural characteristics of the recently constructed farmhouses built by the residents’ self-planning after 1987, compared with the standard housing plan, for the desirable farmhouse planning. The 77 farmhouses, scattered in Milyang-gun, Yangsan-gun and Ulsan-gun near Ulsan city, were selected for the field measurement and the data, compared with the 14 standard housing plans, were analysed by the qualitative method. The farmhouses studied here showed average size of 25-pyongs(82.5m2) and took the flat slab type of roof by the masonry construction of the red blicks. The characteristics in planning were \circled1 the Anbang placed adjacent above the living room, \circled2 a pare of double-sliding doers for the Anbang. \circled3 a pare of double-sliding doors between the living room and the yard for the openness of the living room, \circled4 a door between the living room and the kitchen, \circled5 the multiuse-room by the kicthen for supplemental use, and \circled6 the storage space as attics secured indoor. The standard housing plans, different from these of the recently constructed farmhouses, placed emphasis on the separativeness of each space using the one hinged doors. The farmhouses built recently therefore were not affected by the characteristics of the standard housing plans.

  • The nutritional status and chronic disease occurrence of the elderly living in local areas is affected by certain factors, including low energy intakes, low food diversity, poor nutritional quality and living alone. Moreover, elderly people who live alone may have low incomes and be socially isolated. Thus, we have provided them adjustable and balanced menus using standard recipes. In this study, we investigated aspects of nutritional status and living conditions in the elderly status, in relation to food, activities of daily living(ADL), nutrition risk index, average intake of calories and nutrients, the mini dietary assessment index score, depression score, menu satisfaction, menu demand, satisfaction with menu offerings. The result indicated significant nutritional improvements by providing menus to the elders and suggest that by providing adjustable and balanced menus using standard recipes, the nutritional status of isolated elders can be changed and improved.

The findings of the study are as follows. First, there is low correlation between income-poverty and housing-poverty. Second. there is differences of household characteristics between only housing-poverty household and only income-poverty household or income and housing poverty household. Third, living in sub-standard housing conditions has statistically significant negative effect on school achievement even after controlling for income-poverty, sex, self-esteem, adaptation to school life, family type, mother's education, private education cost, rearing behavior.
