The positive active material for polymer film-battery was prepared by using polyphenlenediamine(PPD) synthesized in our lab. and 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole(DMcT) with various mixture ratio. The transference measurement of surface morphology and thermal stability of the prepared composite film was carried out by using SEM and TGA, respectively. Electrochemical property and electrical conductivity of the composite film were also measured by using cyclic voltammetry and four-probe method in dry box, respectively. The thermal stability of prepared composite film was up to $200^{\circ}C$. The electrical conductivity of the composite film increased and showed the highest value(about 3 S/cm) when doped at 0.4% $LiCIO_4$ solution. And we could confirm that DMcT was effective on reactivation of PPD through cyclic voltammogram.

The purpose of this study Is to research and develop $V_{6}O_{13}$ composite cathode for lithium thin film battery. $V_{6}O_{13}$ represents a class of cathode active material used in Li rechargeable batteries. In this study, we investigated cyclic voltammetry and charge/discharge characteristics of $V_6O_{13}$/SPE/Li cells. Cyclic voltammogram of $V_{6}O_{13}$/SPE/Li cell at scan rate 1mV/sec showed reduction peaks of 2.25V and 2.4V and oxidation peaks of 2.4V and 2.2V. The discharge curve of $V_{6}O_{13}$/SPE/Li cell showed 4 potential plateaus. The discharge capacity was decreased in the beginning of charge/discharge cycling. After 8th cycling, the discharge capacity was stable. The discharge capacity of 1st cycle and 15th cycle was 290mAh/g and 147mAh/g at $25^{\circ}C$, respectively.
In general, the battery and the(electric) condenser are pictured as electrical energy storage devices. Although there were lots of inventions and utilizations of morden conveniences according to enormous growth of the science and technologies after the Industrial Revolution, a speed of technology development on these devices being closely used in civilized human lives and many electric or electronic systems as a core component are relatively slower to the other fields of technologies. Nevertheless, based on a remarkable progress of the material science and technologies for the last ten years, a new type of electrical energy storage device so called as 'electrochemical capacitors' are being developed and used practically. The electrochemical capacitors exhibit their own characteristics of much enhanced capacitance over the conventional condensers and also distinctively exhibit a longer lift time and higher power capability that the nickel hydrogen batteries and secondary batteries such as lithium ion and polymer batteries does not show up so for. Hence, in this paper, it is intended to introduce a fundamental understanding and updated technology trends on the electrochemical capacitors.

Bimodal tram is designed to run on a dedicated path in automatic mode using a magnetic track system in order to realize a combination of the accessibility of a bus and the constant regularity of a railroad. This paper presents design and test results of the series hybrid propulsion system of the bimodal tram on both test track and public road, which uses CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) engine and Lithium polymer battery pack. This paper describes the real-time data measuring equipment for the series hybrid propulsion system of the bimodal tram. Using this measurement equipment, the performance of the prototype vehicle's driving on test track and public road was verified and the fuel consumption and the efficiency of CNG engine have been investigated.
This study introduced a carbon-free electrode for $Li-O_2$ cells with the aim of suppressing the side reactions activated by carbon material. Micro-particles of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT), a conducting polymer, were used as the base material for the air electrode of $Li-O_2$cells. The PEDOT micro-particles were treated with $H_2SO_4$ to improve their electronic conductivity, and LiBr and CsBr were used as the redox mediators to facilitate the dissociation of there action products in the electrode and reduce the over-potential of the $Li-O_2$ cells. The capacity of the electrode employing PEDOT micro-particles was significantly enhanced via $H_2SO_4$ treatment, which is attributed to the increased electronic conductivity. The considerable capacity enhancement and relatively low over-potential of the electrode employing $H_2SO_4$-treated PEDOT micro-particles indicate that the treated PEDOT micro-particles can act as reaction sites and provide storage space for the reaction products. The cyclic performance of the electrode employing $H_2SO_4$-treated PEDOT micro-particles was superior to that of a carbon electrode. The results of the Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopic analysis showed that the accumulation of residual reaction products during cycling was significantly reduced by introducing the carbon-free electrode based on $H_2SO_4$-treated PEDOT micro-particles, compared with that of the carbon electrode. The cycle life was improved owing to the effect of the redox mediators. The refore, the use of the carbon -free electrode combined with redox mediators could realize excellent cyclic performance and low over-potential simultaneously.
We studied the electrochemical phenomena and increase of capacity according to the polymer composite electrode of two different polymeric materials with different the voltage range and capacity. Polyaniline (PANI) with relatively high voltage and small capacity and poly [1,2] bis-thio[1,8]-naphthylidine (PTND) with slightly low voltage and large capacity were used as polymer composite electrode materials. After PTND was synthesized, PANI was synthesized on the surface of PTND. The synthesis and the fine structure were analyzed by FT-IR, XPS, FE-SEM, and FE-TEM. Charge/discharge capacity and cyclic voltammetry measurements were carried out for the electrochemical performance as a polymer cathode active material for lithium secondary batteries. The discharge capacities of PANI/PTND after 1,5, and 10 cycles at 1.3~4.0 V voltage range and room temperature 167 mAh/g, 90 mAh/g, and 81 mAh/g. When we compared with PANI (80, 67, and 62 mAh/g), the discharge capacity after 10 cycles was improved about 30%. After 50 cycles, the discharge capacity of PANI/PTND was 67 mAh/g.

Safety issues in Li-ion battery system have been prime concerns, as demands for power supply device applicable to wearable device, electrical vehicles and energy storage system have increased. To solve safety problems, promising strategy is to replace organic liquid electrolyte with non-flammable solid electrolyte, leading to the development of all-solid-state battery. However, relative low conductivity and high resistance from rigid solid-solid interface hinder a wide application of solid electrolyte. Composite electrolytes composed of organic and inorganic parts could be alternative solution, which in turn bring about the increase of conductivity and conformal contact at physically rough interfaces. In our study, composite electrolytes were prepared by combining poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO) and $Li_7La_3Zr_2O_{12}$ (LLZO). The crystallinity, morphology and electrochemical performances were investigated with the control of LLZO contents from 0 wt% to 50 wt%. From the results, it is concluded that optimum content and uniform dispersion of LLZO in polymer matrix are significant to improve overall conductivity of composite electrolyte.

An investigation upon the characterization of MCMB anodes with different vapor grown carbon fiber (VGCF) content for application in lithium polymer battery(LPB) was carried out. When VGCF material was used as conducting agent with MCMB active material, the impedance and the initial coulombic efficiency of test cells were found to decrease with the increasing amount of VGCF. On the other hand, as a function of added VGCF the discharge capacity and the utilization linearly with increased. Impedance of test cell with MCMB anode containing $6wt\%$ VGCF exhibited the lowest value whereas the impedance of $8wt\%$ VUF contained anode was similar to that of MCMB anode without VGCF. Interestingly, $6wt\%$ VUF contained anode showed the best battery characteristics. Internal resistance and rate capacity of the cell were. respectively, $0.918{\Omega}\;at\;25C\;and\;93\%$ at 2C. Generally, rate capability and the cycleability of MCMB based test cells with $4\~6wt\%$ VGCF content exhibited better results than the other cells. In the case of $6wt\%$ VGCF containing anode, the discharge capacity of the cell faded slowly with an ultimate charge-discharge cycling capacity of 178mAh/g at the 100th cycle. Thereafter, the discharge capacity faded negligibly and the utilization of the cell at the 100th cycle was more than $90\%$. The effect of addition of VGCF is discussed in detail.
Si-C composites were prepared by the carbonization of silicon powder covered by polyaniline(PAn). Physical and electrochemical properties of the Si-C composites were characterized by the particle size analysis, X-ray diffraction technique, scanning electron microscope, and electrochemical test of battery. The average particle size of the Si was increased by the coating of PAn and somewhat reduced by the carbonization to give silicone-carbon composites. XRD analysis' results were confirmed co-existence of crystalline silicon and amorphous-like carbon. SEM photos showed that the silicon particle were well covered with carbonacious materials depend on the PAn content. Si-C|Li cells were fabricated using the Si-C composites and were tested using the galvanostatic charge-discharge test. Si-C|Li cells gave better electrochemical properties than that of Si|Li cell. Si-C|Li cell using the Si-C from HCl undoped PAn Precursor showed better electrochemical properties than that from HCl doped PAn Precursor. Using the electrolyte containing FEC as an additive, the initial discharge capacity was increased. After that the galvanostatic charge-discharge test with the GISOC(gradual increasing of the state of charge) condition was carried out. Si-C(Si:PAn:50:50 wt. ratio)|Li cell showed 414 mAh/g of the reversible specific capacity, 75.7% of IIE(initial intercalation efficiency), 35.4 mAh/g of IICs(surface irreversible specific capacity).
Using $Na_2CO_3$ and $MeSO_4$ (Me = Ni, Co and Mn) as starting materials, the precursor of $[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]CO_3$ has been synthesized by carbonate co-precipitation. The precursor was mixed with $Li_2CO_3$, and calcined at 750, 850, and$950^{\circ}C$ in air. Effect of calcinations temperature on characteristics of $Li[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]O_2$ cathode materials was investigated. The structure and characteristics of $Li[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]O_2$ were determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical measurements. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) results show that the intensity ratio of $I_{(003)}/I_{(104)}$ increased and the R-factor ratio decreased with the increase of calcinations temperature. And Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) result show that the primary particle size increased. Especially, the $Li[Ni_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}]O_2$ calcined at $950^{\circ}C$ for 24 H shows excellent electrochemical performances with reversible specific capacity of $165.3mAhg^{-1}$ [cut-off voltage 2.5~4.3 V, 0.1 C($17mAhg^{-1}$)] and good capacity retention of 95.4% after 50th charge/discharge cycles[cut-off voltage 2.5~4.3 V, 1 C($170mAhg^{-1}$)].
