Permeation grouting is of great significance for consolidating geo-materials without disturbing the original geo-structure. To dip into the filtration-induced pressure increment that dominates the grout penetration in permeation grouting, nonlinear filtration coefficients embedded in a convection-filtration model were proposed, in which the volume of cement particles in grout and the deposited particles of skeleton were considered. An experiment was designed to determine the filtration coefficients and verify the model. The filtration coefficients deduced from experimental data were used in simulation, and the modelling results matched well with the experimental ones. The pressure drop revealed in experiments and captured in modelling demonstrated that the surge of inflow pressure lagged behind the stoppage of flow channels. In addition, both the consideration of the particles loss in liquid grout and the number of filtrated particles on pore walls presented an ideal trend in filtration rate, in which the filtration rate first rose rapidly and then reached to a steady plateau. Finally, this observed pressure drop was extended to the grouting design which alters the water to cement (W/C) ratio so as to alleviate the filtration effect. This study offers a novel insight into the filtration behaviour and has a practical meaning to extend penetration distance.
This study focused on hand sanitizer as a medium that can replace ultrasonic gel, which is vulnerable to contamination by bacteria that reside on the hand. Hand sanitizer produces a strong sterilization effect from germs resident on the hands through different sterilization principles depending on the ingredients. Select products of gel type, cream type, and foam type, except for liquid type with low viscosity, and ultrasonically apply one 62% ethanol gel type and one cream type, one benzalkonium chloride 0.066% cream type and one foam type, respectively. Using ATS-539 as a medium, image evaluation was performed on the axial and lateral resolution and penetration depth, and the presence or absence of an air layer between the probe and the phantom. As a result, in the evaluation of the axial and lateral resolution and the depth of penetration, all four experimental groups met the evaluation criteria. However, in the case of the foam type, although it was suitable for the evaluation criteria of resolution and penetration depth, dark shadows appeared on both sides except for the center of observation during image evaluation. Through this experiment, it was possible to confirm the possibility that the remaining three types of hand sanitizers except the foam type could replace the ultrasonic gel.
Estimation of the penetration rate of humectants has been considered to be important in effective control of food processing when intermediate moisture food is manufactured by the moist-infusion method. In this study, when shark (Isurus glaucus) muscle was soaked in four common humectants (sucrose, sorbitol, glycerol, and propylene glycol), the equation of their penetration rate was drawn as a function of time using high performance liquid chromatography analysis. Penetration rates increased with soaking temperatures and decreased inversely with molecular weights of humectants. The penetrated amounts for 10% humectant solution reached about equilibrium after soaking for 10 hours and for 30% humectant after soaking for about 7 hours. In consideration with the penetration rate of the sample soaked in 10% humectant and complex solution of each 10% humectant, little difference was found between them. When the sample was soaked in 10% humectant and 30% humectant, it seemed to be able to apply the following regression equation to estimate the penetrated amounts: M = a log (c.t)+ b where M = penetrated amounts; c = concentration of humectant; t= soaking time; a, b = constant and c.t should be within $10^3\;-\;4{\times}10^4$.
Using the results from laboratory soil test, field vane test and piezocone penetration test, the engineering characteristics of the soft ground at east side of Gwangyang Port, which is located at south coast of Jeollanam-do, were investigated and optimal piezocone penetration test depth was derived to calculate piezocone factor. In this paper, the results of 61 laboratory soil tests, 226 times of field vane tests and 26 piezocone penetration tests were used. The result of laboratory soil test suggested that some physical properties such as specific gravity, moisture content, liquid limit and plastic index and others are higher than other south coast regions, meanwhile uniaxial compression strength, undrained shear strength, defined as mechanical property, appeared to be relatively small, distributed widely. According to the plastic chart, the ground was classified as high compressibility clay and low compressibility clay, mostly represent to Type 3 clay by Robertson (1990)'s classification chart. Piezocone factor was calculated by empirical method, based on the undrained shear strength which was obtained by the field vane test. According to the analysis with 3 different depth range, to set the appropriate measured depth range of piezocone penetration for comparation, using average value of the range of 5 times the vane length showed the highest correlation.

The percentages of sperm motility and normal acrosome on the liquid boar semen diluted and preserved at $4^{\circ}C$ with lactose hydrate, egg yolk and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (LEN) diluent were significant differences according to preservation day and incubation time, respectively. The sperm motility steadily declined from 96.9% at 0.5 h incubation to 78.8% at 6 h incubation at 1 day of preservation. However, the sperm motility rapidly declined after 4 day of preservation during incubation. The normal acrosome steadily declined from 93.3% at 0.5 h incubation to 73.8% at 6 h incubation at 1 day of preservation. However, the normal acrosome rapidly declined after 3 day of preservation during incubation. The rates of sperm penetration and polyspermy were higher in 5 and $10{\times}10^6$ sperm/ml than in 0.2 and $1{\times}10^6$ sperm/ml. Mean numbers of sperm in penetrated oocyte were highest in $10{\times}10^6$ sperm/ml compared with other sperm concentrations. The rates of blastocysts from the cleaved oocytes (2-4 cell stage) were highest in $1{\times}10^6$sperm/ml compared with other sperm concentrations. In conclusion, we found out that liquid boar sperm stored at $4^{\circ}C$ could be used for in vitro fertilization of pig oocytes matured in vitro. Also, we recommend $1{\times}10^6$sperm/ml concentration for in vitro fertilization of pig oocytes.

This present study was carried out to examine the effect of maturation media and liquid boar semen on in vitro maturation and feritilization of pig oocytes. The results obtained were as follows : When the oocytes were cultured for 36∼42 hours in mTCM-199, Waymouth MB 725/1 and mTLP-PVA medium, the maturation rates were 90%, 92% and 88%, respectively. The sperm penetration rates of pig oocyte matured in vitro were 87%(mTCM-199), 90%(Waymouth MB 725/1) and 86%(mTLP-PVA), respectively. The rates of nuclear maturation and fertilization of pig oocytes among three different media did not differ. However, the rate of male pronucleus formation of pig oocytes was significantly higher in pig oocytes matured in Waymouth MB 725/1(91%) than oocytes matured in mTCM-199(66%) and mTLP-PVA(62%) medium (P<0.05). When the collected sperm-rich fraction without diluent was used fro in vitro fertilization in mTCM-199 fertilization medium, the fertilization rate was 87.9%. However, when the liquid boar semen diluted with B tschwiler diluent was used at day 3 and 5 after dilution, the fertilization rate was 40.8% and 0.0%, respectively.
In this study, piezocone coefficients of clays (Hwasung, Gunsan, Changwon, Busan) were analyzed from piezocone penetration tests those accompanied with vane shear and UU tests. Piezocone coefficients of west sea clays (Hwasung, Gunsan), i.e, Nkt is 12.6 and Nqu is 8.8, while those of south sea clays are 16.5 and 9.2 respectively. The difference of liquid limit between south and west clays causes main roles those which west sea clay is generally lower than 50%, i.e, CL, and liquid limit of south sea clay is mostly higher than 50%, i.e CH. Piezocone coefficients obtained from several tests show similar trends even though they still have some differences depending on each test. However, they show clear differences depending on liquid limit. Therefore, piezocone coefficients need to be used with caution depending on LL.

To analyze the mixture formation process of evaporating diesel spray is important for emissions reduction in actual engines. Then the effects of change in density of ambient gas on spray structure in high temperature and pressure field have been investigated in this study. The ambient gas density was changed from ${\rho}_a=5.0kg/m^3$ to ${\rho}_a=12.3kg/m^3$ with CVC(Constant Volume Chamber). Also, simulation study by modified KIVA-II code was conducted and compared with experimental results. The ambient temperature and injection pressure are kept as 700K and 72MPa, respectively. The images of liquid and vapor phase in the evaporating free spray were simultaneously taken by exciplex fluorescence method. As experimental results, with increasing ambient gas density, the tip penetration of the evaporating free spray decreases due to the increase in the drag force from ambient gas. The spatial structure of a diesel spray can be verified as 2-regions consisted of liquid with momentum decrease and vapor with large-scale vortex. The calculated results obtained by modified KIVA-II code show good agreements with experimental results.

Dampening in printing is not only used with plain water but also used with various substances like dampening additive, in order to improve the wetting property by lowering the surface tension and to control material for modifing the ink transfer characteristic with proper emulsification. We have studied the printing quality according to these, looking into interrelationship among the dampening solution's pH, electrical conductivity and IPA content, prescribing the proper usage and minimum usage of fountain solution and dampening additive. In this study, it shows good result when mixing at the 7 wt% dampening with additive solution, which is result from the color density of printed sheets in accordance with the change of dampening solution condition. And the printed density value calculated 1 hour after printing, it shows relatively safe value at the etch liquid 4 wt% and IPA addition 2 wt%. The dry down at this test showed similar results regardless of various dampening conditions on coated paper, but in case of uncoated paper, the dry down showed a quite gap of different due to the fast penetration to the paper.

Rubber hoses for automobile radiators are apt to be degraded and thus failed due to the influence of contacting stresses of air and coolant liquid under thermal and mechanical loadings. The aging behaviors of the skin part of the hoses due to thermo-oxidative and electro-chemical stresses were experimentally analyzed. Through the thermo-oxidative aging test, it was shown that the surface hardness IRHD(International Rubber Hardness Degrees) of the rubber increased with a considerable reduction of failure strain as the aging time and temperature increased. On account of the penetration of coolant liquid into the skin part influenced by the electro-chemical degradation(ECD) test the weight of the rubber hose increased, whereas their failure strain and IRHD hardness decreased. The hardness of the hose in the side of the negative pole was the most deteriorated at the test site of the hose skin just below the coolant surface.
