Direct Liquid Injection Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition of $HfO_2$ Thin Films Using $Hf(dimethylaminoethoxide)_4$.

  • 본 논문에서는 gate 산화막을 위한 Hf oxide 박막을 $Hf(dmae)_4$ (dmae=dimethylaminoethoxide) 전구체로 Direct Liquid Injection Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (DLI-MOCVD)방법을 이용하여 p-type Si(100) 기판 위에 증착하였다. 이 전구체를 이용하여 $150^{\circ}C$의 낮은 증착 온도에서도 낮은 carbon 농도와 roughness를 가지는 양질의 박막을 증착할 수 있었다. 증착된 박막은 비정질 구조를 나타내었지만 annealing 온도를 증가시킴에 따라서 결정성(monoclinic phase)을 나타내었다. $500{\AA}$으로 증착한 박막을 C-V 와 I-V curve를 통하여 전기적 특성을 평가하였다. 열처리 온도가 증가함에 따라 유효유전상수(k)는 증가하지만 열처리 온도가 $900^{\circ}C$ 이상이 되면 계면층의 형성에 의해 유효유전상수는 감소하게 되고 이에 따라 누설 전류도 감소하게 된다. 산소분위기 $800^{\circ}C$에서 annealing한 $HfO_2$ 박막의 유전상수는 20.1이고, 누설 전류 밀도는 SV에서 $2.2\times10^{-6}A/\textrm{cm}^2$ 로 좋은 전기적 특성을 가진다.

  • The ion beam system of 20keV C-W (Cockroft Walton) type composed of the AuGe alloy LMIS(Liquid Metal Ion Source) has been designed and constructed. For the fabrication of the ohmic contact to the n-GaAs, the ion beam extracted from the AuGe alloy source was implanted into the n-GaAs, and it was measured by contact resistivity. The stable AuGe ion beam(2.5\ulcorner/cm\ulcorner was obtained at the extraction voltage of 14.5kV. The measurements of the contact resistivity were done by the TLM (Transmission Line Model) method and the specific contact resistivity was found to be 2.4x10**-5 \ulcornercm\ulcornerfor the implanted sample by the 1.9x10**20/cm**3 and the annealed sample at 30\ulcorner for 2 min.

  • 액체 금속로(LMIR) 핵연료교환장치의 기본설계를 위해서는 여러 분야(예를 들면, 기구학, 동역 학, 재료역학 등)의 해석을 동시에 수행해야 한다. 그러나 이와 같은 해석들은 각각 별개로 연속적으로 수행되는 것이 아니라, 상호 유기적인 연관을 갖고 수행되어야 한다. 이와 같은 해석에 적합한 기법이 MDO 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 MDO기법에 의한 핵연료교환장치 구조해석의 한 단계로 핵연료교환장치의 기구 동역 학 해석을 수행하여 핵연료 교환장치 작동에 대한 기구운동학적 특성 및 동역학적 특성을 분석하였다. 분석결과 해석대상 핵연료교환장치는 예상한대로 원활하게 작동됨이 확인되었다. 아울러 이 분석 결과를 토대로 핵연료교환장치의 정적 휨 변형을 구하기 위한 재료역학해석에서 요구되는 정적구조를 결정하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 MDO기법에 의한 핵연료교환장치의 구조해석 단계 중 핵연료교환장치의 휨 변형을 구하는 재료역학해석을 수행하였다. 이는 액체 금속로(LMR) 핵연료교환장치의 기본설계를 위하여 매우 중요하다. 해석대상 핵연료교환장치의 정적구조는 기 수행한 핵연료교환장치의 기구 동역 학 해석 결과를 활용하였다. 네 가지 핵연료교환동작에 대하여 핵연료 봉의 무게를 100㎏에서 500㎏까지 100㎏씩 증가시켜 휨 변형의 크기를 구하였다. 그 결과 회전 중심 축에서 가장 멀리 있는 핵연료 봉을 교환하는 핵연료교환동작에서 최대 휨 변형이 발생함이 밝혀졌다. 또한 이 최대 휨 변형이 발생하는 핵연료교환장치구조에 대하여 부재의 단면두께를 축소하면서, 또 단면형상을 여러 가지로 바꾸면서 휨 변형크기를 구하여 비교하였다. 비교결과 비교대상 단면형상 중에서 중공직사각형 단면이 최소 휨 변형이 발생하는 최적단면형상임이 밝혀졌다.

Liquid Phase Deposition of Transition Metal Ferrite Thin Films: Synthesis and Magnetic Properties

  • We report on the synthesis of highly uniform, single phase zinc and cobalt thin films prepared by the Liquid Phase Deposition (LPD) method. X-Ray diffraction, TGA and EDX measurements support the assumption that the as deposited films are constituted by a mixture of crystallized FeOOH and amorphous M(OH)$_2$ (M=Co, Zn) which is converted upon heat treatment in air at 600?C into the corresponding zinc ferrites. The films with adjustable chemical compositions are identified with a crystal structure as spinel-type and present a spherical or rod-like microstructure, depending on the both the nature and concentration of the divalent transition metal ions. Zinc ferrite thin films present a superparamagnetic behavior above blocking temperatures which decrease with increasing the Zn content and are ferromagnetic at 5 K with coercivities ranging between 797.8 and 948.5 Oe, whereas the cobalt ferrite films are ferromagnetic at room temperature with magnetic characteristics strongly dependent on the chemical composition.

  • This paper presents the MHD characteristics of the liquid metal flow using an electromagnetic force. The flow velocity has been calculated by treating the Lorentz force as a source term in the Navier-Stokes equation. The liquid metal flow in duct using an electromagnetic pump was analyzed with the Lorentz force varied.

  • The liquid metal ion sources(LMIS) in FIB system have many advantages of high current density, high brightness, and low ion energy spread. Most FIB systems use LMIS because the beam spot size of LMIS is smaller than of gas field ionization sources(GFIS). LMIS basically consists of a emitter(needle, anode), a reservoir(gallium) and a extractor(cathode). But several LMIS have new electrode called the suppressor. We investigated characteristics of LMIS with a suppressor. The characteristics of the threshold voltage and current-voltage (I-V) were observed under the varying extracting voltage with floated suppressor voltage, and under the varying suppressor voltages with fixed extractor voltage. We also simulated LMIS with the suppressor through CST(Computer Simulation Technology). We can explain characteristics of LMIS with a suppressor using the electric field.

  • To reduce the construction cost and enhance the safety of sodium cooled liquid metal reactors, various kinds of new design concepts were evaluated using the KALIMER operation condition. The required equipment sizes were set for plant electricity output to be similar to that of KALIMER. The evaluations were made focusing on the plant performance and implementation practicality. Each design concept was evaluated for the concept itself and design impacts to interfacing systems. Through the evaluation of the concepts, it was found that the most favorable design concept is the integrated steam generator with forced convection using lead bismuth as the intermediate heat transfer fluid between the primary sodium tube and feed water/steam tube in the steam generator.

Metallurgical Failure Analysis on a Suspension Clamp in 154kV Electric Power Transmission Tower

  • Failure of a suspension clamp made of hot dip galvanized cast iron in 154kV transmission tower was investigated. Metallurgical analysis of a crack of the clamp was performed using a digital microscope, an optical microscope, and a scanning electron microscope. It was revealed that the crack surface was covered by continuous zinc layer. Distinctive casting skin was found underneath both the outer surface and crack surface. The result showed that pre-existing crack had been formed in the fabrication, and liquid metal embrittlement during hot dip galvanization may assist crack propagation.

반응결합 소결에 의한 TiC-Co/Al 복합체의 미세구조 및 기계적 특성 (Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of TiC-Co/Al Composites Prepared by Reaction-Bonded Sintering)

  • The TiC-Co/Al reaction-sintered products were prepared by the infiltration of various Co/Al metal mixture into the preform, and their microstructure, phases, and mechanical properties were investigated. With increasing the atomic ratio of Co/Al, tiC grain shape was changed from spherical to platelet particles, and the grain size increased. The crystalline phases found in the liquid matrix formed by the infiltration of Co/Al metal mixture were determined to be Al5Co2 and AlCo by EDS and XRD, and the two crystalline phases were located dominantly between TiC grains, when the Co/Al atomic ratio was lower than an unity. There was a tendency that the density, bending strength and fracture toughness increase with Co/Al atomic ratio until the infiltrated metal was 100% Co. The maximum value was achieved by the composition containing 100% Co infiltrated metal. The Vickers hardness decreased as Co/Al atomic ratio increased.
