20세기 초 덕수궁·창덕궁에 유입된 리놀륨(Linoleum) 바닥재 연구: 리놀륨의 제작 방식과 특성 및 사용을 중심으로 (A Study on the Linoleum of the Deoksugung and Changdeokgung Palaces in the Early 20th Century: focusing on its manufacturing process, characteristics, and usage)

  • 리놀륨은 실용적이고 위생적이며 친환경적인 바닥재이다. 영국의 월튼(Frederik Walton)에 의해 1863년에 개발된 이것은 코르크와 아마인유, 삼베를 주 재료로 한 유연한 방수 재질로서 20세기 초반 전 세계에서 유행했다. 화학제품인 장판과 달리 뒷면의 삼베 바탕을 한 리놀륨은 병원, 사무실과 같은 상업 공간뿐만 아니라 부엌, 욕실, 심지어 거실과 같은 주거 공간에도 널리 사용되었다. 글로벌한 소재의 하나로서 리놀륨은 20세기 초 국내에도 수입·유통된 정황이 파악되고 우리나라의 덕수궁과 창덕궁 내의 여러 건물에서도 쓰였다. 덕수궁의 경우 1915년에 작성된 『덕수궁원안(德壽宮原案)』에 의하면 함녕전, 덕홍전, 정관헌과 같은 주요 전각을 비롯한 여러 곳에 리놀륨이 사용되었음이 확인된다. 이는 주로 청색과 갈색 무지로서 영국의 제품으로 추정된다. 20세기 초 수출입 자료에 따르면 리놀륨은 영국과 미국을 중심으로 국내에 수입되었다. 창덕궁의 경우 이왕직청사의 건물 평면도에는 곳곳에 리놀륨이 표기되어 있으며 대조전과 희정당 일곽에는 그 원형이 남아 있는 곳도 있다. 대조전과 희정당은 1920년에 개수될 당시 서양식 실내 장식과 근대적 설비를 갖추면서 화장실, 이발소, 서행각과 같은 일부 공간에 리놀륨을 사용했다. 여기에 사용된 것은 검정색 무지, 검정 패턴, 그리고 다색 꽃무늬 타일 패턴으로서 아메리칸 리놀륨 매뉴팩처링 컴퍼니(American Linoleum Manufacturing Company)나 암스트롱 코르크 컴퍼니(Armstrong Cork and Tile Company of Lancaster)와 같은 미국 제품들과 유사성이 크다. 본 연구를 통해 리놀륨의 특성과 사용에 대한 이해를 넓히고 이를 기초로 향후 창덕궁의 복원·재현뿐만 아니라 리놀륨이 사용된 근대 실내 복원의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있기를 바란다.

추출조건이 홍삼엑기스의 지방과 유리지방당 조성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Extracting Condition on the Crude Fat and Free Fatty Acids of Red Ginseng Extract)

  • The effect of temperature and ethanol concentration on lipids yield and free fatty acids were investigated during 1-5 times of 8 hours extraction. The crude lipids recovered was generally increased as the ethanol concentration increased while it was decreased at higher extraction temperature. Fatty acids composition in free fatty acids showed linoleum and plasmatic acids to be the major fatty acids, accounting 60% of 16 fatty acids identified. Fatty acids pattern was little affected by the changes in ethanol concentration while increase in temperature resulted significant changes in fatty acids composition.

전통 초가의 현대적 적용 사례에 관한 연구 -식음료 판매 공간의 실내구성요소를 중심으로- (A Study on the Modern Adaptation of Traditional Thatched Roof House -Special Reference to Interior Elements of Restaurants and Cafes-)

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate actual condition about the modem adaptation of interior elements(floor, wall, ceiling, door & window) in traditional thatched roof house. The examined objects were interior space of 36 restaurants and cafes in Seoul and Kyung-Ki Do area. 1. Floor: Jang-pan was mostly alternated with linoleum which huts Jang-pan pattem. Wumul-maru was adapted from the original and Jang-maru was alternated with wood or linolium which has western state Jang-maru pattern. Mud was adapted from the original or alternated with slate stone or rough finish cement. 2. Wall: Rice proper was alternated with rice paper book witch has chinese character, paper for parcels or modem wall paper. Plaster-white paint or white handy coat. Mud-mud color paint or bamboo stick witch located in the mud wall orginal. Log-half cut log. Wooden board-without cross bar or irregular form. 3. Ceiling: Yondung-Chongang was mostly adapted from the original and Banja-Chonjang was alternated with rice paper book which has Chinese character or modem wall paper. 4. Door and Window: Ttisal-mun and Panjang-mun were adapted from the original. Wan and A’character door and window were simplified character itself.

농촌부엌의 개선 및 표준화에 관한 연구(I) -부엌의 물리적 측면을 중심으로- (Improvement and Standardization of Rural Korean Kitchen Space: Field Survey on Architectural Elements and Facilities(1))

  • The purpose of this study was to identify kitchen space needs in regard to the architectural elements and facilities of rural houses. Three rural villages, Kum-Sung Ri, Young-San 1 Ri, and Yu-Bang 2.5 Ri were selected for this study. The present and past condition of the kitchen space was investigated by the field survey method. The major findings were that: 1) The interior floor materials of the kitchen had been changed from mostly mudplastered floor to linoleum, and the former low level of the kitchen floor had been lifted to the same level of the house plane. This change was made possible by the separation of the cooking from the heating system. 2) Western style kitchen, work centers and kitchen cabinets had been installed in the most of the rural houses. 3) On the basis of this study, the rural Korean kitchen space was classified into six types.

인화성액체를 촉진제로 사용한 방화화재의 감식기법에 관한 연구 (Arson Fire Analysis Involving the Use of Flammable Liquilds as Accelerants)

  • 본 연구에서는 연소잔류물에 남아있는 미세한 인화성액체의 성분을 검출하기 위해 가스검지관, Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), 열분해분석장비를 활용하였다. 일반적으로 연소했을 경우와 인화성액체를 첨가하여 연소된 경우의 성분분석결과를 비교하였다. 결과적으로 인화성액체를 첨가하지 않고 연소 후 생성된 화재잔해물에서도 가스검지관이 반응하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 일반적인 연소와 열분해를 통해 생성된 화학성분의 차이가 있었으며, 이는 연소 환경의 차이로 인한 것으로 판단된다. 대표적인 석유화학제품인 우드데코타일(PVC) 시료는 인화성액체를 첨가하지 않고 일반적으로 연소시켰을 경우에도 감정인의 정확한 판단을 방해할 수 있는 방해물질인 Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Undecane, Dodecane 등이 검출되는 것을 확인하였다.

안전한 노인요양시설 환경을 위한 실내 바닥마감재에 관한 연구 (A Study on Interior Flooring Materials for Safe Elderly Nursing Home Environment)

  • The number of elderly who wants to access to Nursing Homes (NH) will increase due to the rapid aging society and domestic changes. Those who move into NH expect 24/7 care service in safe environment. Providing space free from danger, especially from fall, for the frail elderly is essential. The purpose of this study is to categorize performance needs of flooring materials in the aspect of safety, and analyze materials so that adequate ones for each space in NH can be suggested. Performance needs are as follows; slip resistance (dry/wet), fire resistance, resilience, water resistance, soil retardant, anti-bacterial, gloss, sound absorbtion. maintenance, durability, ease replacement, color and pattern variety, visual and tactual texture, tactile warmth, IAQ, sustainable material (before use), impact to nature (after use). They are categorized under function, economy, sensibility and sustainability. It was found that there are better materials than common ones that has been used repeatedly in NHs, such as vinyl sheets and VCT. In overall, Cork flooring and nylon carpet met all four categories, followed by wool carpet, rubber and linoleum. For bedroom, wood flooring, Cork, rubber, wool carpet, nylon carpets were suggested. In bathroom with shower, rubber, vinyl sheet and porcelain tiles were safe materials. As living/dining room and corridor floors, wool carpet, nylon carpet, cork flooring would be excellent as they are resilient and durable. The result of this paper can be used by both NH managers and material companies, resulting better quality of life of the elderly by providing safe environment.

알레르기질환 아동의 가정 내 환경요인과 문제행동의 관계: 2015년 한국아동패널 자료를 바탕으로 (Association between Environmental Factors in Home and Behavioral Problems in Children with Allergic Diseases: Based on 2015 Panel Study of Korean Children Survey)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the association between indoor environmental exposures and behavioral problems in children with allergic diseases. Methods: We used data from 2015 Panel Study of Korean Children (PSKC). The subjects of this study included 825 children aged 7 years with asthma, allergic rhinitis, or atopic dermatitis. The data was analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Factors influencing behavioral problems in children with allergic diseases were passive smoking (β=.15, p<.001), painting from 1year after birth until 1 year ago (β=.13, p<.001), using of linoleum as floor materials (β=.09, p<.001), change of wallpaper From 2 years before pregnancy until 1year after birth (β=.08, p<.001), change of wallpaper from 1year after birth until 1 year ago (β=.07, p<.001), keeping hot food or water in plastic container (β=.06, p<.001), remodeling from 1 year after birth until 1year ago (β=.04, p<.001), using of plastic container (β=.03, p<.001), and change of floor materials from 1 year after birth until 1year ago (β=.01, p=.006) which explained about 10% of behavioral problems. Conclusion: This study showed that indoor environmental exposures were associated with behavioral problems in children with allergic diseases. Based on the findings of this study, programs focusing on controlling of indoor environmental exposures may help to prevent and reduce behavioral problems in children with allergic diseases.
