무선 애드 혹 망에서 빠른 경로 복구를 위한 LBN 방법의 시뮬레이터 구현 (A Simulator of LBN Method for Fast Link Recovery over Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks)

  • 무선 Ad-Hoc 망에서는 중심 노드 없이 노드들끼리 경로를 설정하고 데이터를 전송한다. 이 때문에 경로상의 노드들이 기기 장애나 이동으로 인해 경로가 끊어지게 되면 데이터 전송 지연을 초래하고 경로를 찾기 위한 일련의 과정은 네트워크의 오버헤드를 초래하게 된다. 우리는 통신기기의 기능장애로 링크가 손상되었을 경우 MAC 계층에서의 패킷 재전송으로 새로운 경로를 찾는 방법 대신에, 기기가 기능장애를 예상하고 이웃들에게 고정된 형태의 메시지를 보내어 링크가 손상된 것을 알림으로서 효과적으로 경로를 재탐색을 하게 하는 방법을 제안하고, 그 효율성을 NS2를 이용한 시뮬레이터를 구현하고 TCP/IP 단에서 성능 향성을 보였다.

Protection of a Multicast Connection Request in an Elastic Optical Network Using Shared Protection

  • Elastic Optical Networks (EONs) allow to solve the high demand for bandwidth due to the increase in the number of internet users and the explosion of multicast applications. To support multicast applications, network operator computes a tree-shaped path, which is a set of optical channels. Generally, the demand for bandwidth on an optical channel is enormous so that, if there is a single fiber failure, it could cause a serious interruption in data transmission and a huge loss of data. To avoid serious interruption in data transmission, the tree-shaped path of a multicast connection may be protected. Several works have been proposed methods to do this. But these works may cause the duplication of some resources after recovery due to a link failure. Therefore, this duplication can lead to inefficient use of network resources. Our work consists to propose a method of protection that eliminates the link that causes duplication so that, the final backup path structure after link failure is a tree. Evaluations and analyses have shown that our method uses less backup resources than methods for protection of a multicast connection.

TCP Performance Improvement Considering ACK Loss in Ad Hoc Networks

  • In mobile ad hoc networks, packet loss is unavoidable due to MAC contention, link failure or the inherent characteristics of wireless link. Since TCP relies on the timely reception of TCP ACK packets to progress the transmission of the TCP DATA packets, ACK loss obviously affects the performance due to two main problems: (a) Frequent occurrence of spurious retransmissions caused by timeout events and (b) impairment of the fast retransmit mechanism caused by the lack of a sufficient number of duplicate ACK packets. In particular, since most reactive routing protocols force the packets buffered over a path to be discarded while performing a route recovery, the performance degradation becomes more serious due to such ACK loss. In this paper, therefore, TCP with two piggybacking schemes (called TCP-pgy) is proposed in order to resolve the above-mentioned problems over reactive routing protocols. Through extensive simulations using the ns-2 simulator, we prove that our proposed schemes contribute to TCP performance improvements.

  • This paper describes the Petri Net(PN) model for reliability analysis of fault-tolerant dual Ethernet which Is applied in Naval Combat System. The network for Naval Combat System performs failure detection and auto path recovery by handling redundant path in case of temporary link failure. After studying the behavior of this kind of network, the reliability analysis model is proposed using stochastic Petri Net and continuous-time Markov chains. Finally, the numerical result is analyzed according to changing the failure rate and the recover rate of link.

  • Visible light communication(VLC) is one type of short-range, optical, and wireless communication system utilizing light emitting diode(LED) and laser diode(LD) as optical source. In a VLC system, visible light is used as a transmission medium and used to illuminate. Using VLC has a lot of advantages: it is harmless to human body; it transmits with high power, and it has excellent security, a high data rate, and a license free frequency band. With such a unique blend of communication and illumination in one system, the most common application would be an indoor environment. We aim at reviewing key issues in VLC network such as : FOV(field of view), priority MAC, cooperative MAC, link switching, LED-ID technique, cell site diversity, and link recovery.

위성 멀티미디어 시스템을 위한 랜덤 지연지터에 강인한 기준 클럭 복원 (A Robust Recovery Method of Reference Clock against Random Delay Jitter for Satellite Multimedia System)

  • 본 논문은 DVB-RCS 규격과 폐루프 버스트 동기 제어 방식을 적용한 양방향 위성 멀티미디어 시스템의 망동기 기준클럭 복원을 위한 정밀한 복원방식을 제안한다. 이러한 시스템의 단말은 TDMA 리턴링크 통신을 위한 기준클럭을 MPEG-2 규격에 정의된 PCR (Program Clock Reference)을 중심국에서 방송하고 단말은 이를 복원하여 사용한다. PCR은 중심국에서 시스템 클럭 (27MHz $\pm$ 30ppm)을 주기적으로 샘플링 하여 각 단말로 방송하는데 단말에서 수신되는 PCR값은 위성을 포함한 전송경로에서 발생되는 가변적인 전달 지연시간 변동으로 인한 오차 때문에 일반적인 디지털 PLL(DPLL) 방식에 의해서는 복원된 기준클럭의 주파수와 중심국의 기준클럭 주파수간의 동기를 주어진 범위 이내로 정확하게 유지하기가 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 수신되는 PCR 패킷의 랜덤한 전달지연시간 번동으로 인해 발생되는 기준클럭의 복원오차를 줄일 수 있는 방식을 제시하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 성능을 평가하였다. 제안한 방식은 일반적인 DPLL방식에 비해 기준클럭의 복원오차가 1/5로 현저하게 감소되는 성능을 보여 주었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 플라이휠에너지를 이용한 다이나믹 UPS 시스템에서 유도기를 이용하여 플라이휠의 에너지를 저장 및 재생하는 시스템 제어 기법을 제시하였다. 유도발전기의 슬립주파수 제어와 벡터제어 기법의 특성을 비교하고, 또한 벡터제어 기법을 사용 시 전동 모드에서 발전 모드로의 전환할 때 직류링크 커패시터 전압의 과도 특성을 개선하는 기법을 개발하였다. 32비트 DSP를 사용한 실험을 통하여 이 기법의 성능을 확인하였다.

  • The rapid growth of mobile communication technology has provided the expansion of mobile internet services, particularly mobile realtime transaction takes much weight among mobile fields. There is an increasing demand for various mobile applications to process transactions in a mobile computing fields. Thus, During transmission in wireless networks a base station failure inevitably causes data loss of the base station buffer. It is required to compensate the loss for communication. The existing methods for a base station failure are not adequate because they all suffer from too much overhead and resolve only the link failure. In this paper, we study an efficient recovry systems for a mobile DBMS. We propose SLL (Segment Log List) that enables the mobile host to compensate data loss efficiently in the case of base station failure. In SLL, a base station deliveries an output information of data cells to a mobile host. when a base station fails, the mobile host can retransmit just next data cells. We also prove the efficiency of new method.

  • In this paper, a transmission protocol including error recovery strategy on the data link layer for Ethernet using CSMA/CD media accessing method was proposed. So when considering the actual transmission error probability on the channel, it's performance was analyzed through a simulation. Performming the simmulation, the required parameters was taken as those given by Ethernet controller interface board.

Congestion Control in TCP over ATM-UBR Networks

  • In this paper we approach the problem of congestion control for TCP traffic over ATM-UBR networks by focusing on the fact that to get best performance. We study how to efficiently support TCP traffic in the subnet ATM model, when ATM is only a single link in the whole path. We show that when UBR connection. We analyze the ATM-UBR network service using the BSD 4.3 Reno, Tahoe TCP. However we found the fact that the characteristic of fast recovery algorithm makes a serious degradation of performance in multiple cell loss drop situation. We propose new fast recovery algorithm to solve the problem.
