In this paper, a prototype Cartesian Parallel Manipulator (CPM) is demonstrated, in which a moving platform is connected to a fixed frame by three PRRR limbs. Due to the orthogonal arrangement of the three prismatic joints, it behaves like a conventional X-Y-Z Cartesian robot. However, because all the linear actuators are mounted at the fixed frame, the manipulator may be suitable for applications requiring high speed and accuracy. Using a geometric method and the practical assumption that three revolute joint axes in each limb are parallel to one another, a simple forward kinematics for an actual model is derived, which is expressed in terms of a set of linear equations. Based on the error model, two calibration methods using full position and length measurements are developed. It is shown that for a full position measurement, the solution for the calibration can be obtained analytically. However, since a ball-bar is less expensive and sufficiently accurate for calibration, the kinematic calibration experiment on the prototype machine is performed by using a ball-bar. The effectiveness of the kinematic calibration method with a ball-bar is verified through the wellknown circular test.

In general, NIR reflectance spectra (whether recorded using log(1/R) or the Kubelka-Munk function) are not linear functions of the concentration of the absorbers which we are measuring. There are several causes for this non-linearity, the most commonly cited one being front surface reflection. However, non-linearity also arises from the effects of particle size, sample thickness, void fraction, and experimental arrangement. In this talk, we will attempt to isolate the effects of the various causes, and show the effects of each, using both theoretical calculations and actual data. The listener should then be able to assess where we stand in our quest to produce “linear” data through pre-processing and/or alternate collection schemes.

In this study, we analyzed the accuracy of the conversion from DLT parameters to physical camera parameters and optimized the use of DLT model for non-metric cameras in photogrammetric tasks. Using the simulated data, we computed two sets of physical camera parameters from DLT parameters and Bundle adjustment for various cases. Comparing two results based on the RMSE values of check points, we optimized the arrangement of GCPs for DLT.

At present surveillance equipment on the ground of the army is distributed and located by experience element and intellience preparation of the battle field. Therefore, it is hard to utilize the optimal detection capability. This paper is forcused on improving watch ratio of the named area interested(NAI) and maximizing detection area. A linear programming model is developed and network model is established on the basis of the linear programming model. And then Out-of-Kilter algorithm is utilized for the optimal solution. Finally, one of the example is provided it shows that this model minimizes the non-detection area.

In order to overcome the demerit and to improve the operation characteristics of Moving Coil type Linear Oscillatory Actuator(MC-LOA) with single-pole permanent magnet, this paper presents two models having the balanced magnetic circuit by multi-pole permanent magnet. They are short coil type with two-pole single-sided and two-ple double-sided permanent magnet. The characteristics between single-pole and multi-pole permanent magnet type MC-LOA are compared. As a result, multi-pole type MC-LOA has more merits than single-pole type about operation characteristics improvement and machine volume. The characteristics analysis is performed by their dynamic analysis composed of kinetic and electric equations and Finite Element Method(FEM). The propriety of multi-pole type MC-LOA model is verified with analysis results.

In this paper, we apply the LMMSE(: Linear Minimum Mean Square Error) algorithm to overcome the Doppler effect according to the UAV(: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) velocity in multipath fading channel environment. Simulation results show that the performance difference depends on the pilot arrangement and pattern, and we confirmed that the frame structure proposed in this paper can provide a stable secondary link for high speed UAV system.
The problem in improving the positioning precision of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) is the large detent force caused by the permanent magnet. The detent force is thought to arise from the difference of the position of a permanent magnet end and a tooth position. In this paper, Three methods of reducing detent force is presented The first method is adjusting the width of permanent magnet. The second method is varying the shape of armature teeth. The third method is the arrangement of the permanent magnet end. This paper compares with the ratio of reducing the detent force according to the three methods.
This paper is intended to introduce a set of static and dynamic experiments for a better characterization of the linear permanent magnet oscillatory machine. The experiment have been peformed on two prototypes; one with buried permanent magnets with flux concentration while the other with surface permanent magnets. Though the testing arrangement allows for it, temperature, noise and vibration have not been in this paper.

Green Frame is a method for Rahmen structure construction composed of composite PC members. The composite PC members of Green Frame which are based on in-situ production can reduce the construction cost and are more likely to secure quality when compared to production in factories. Previous studies developed forms for in-situ production of Green Frame composite PC members and proposed algorithms to arrange them on site. However, it requires not only their arrangement, but also calculation of an accurate production period to produce the required PC members in a limited space and supply them in a timely manner. In particular, it is necessary to clearly define the properties of detailed processes for in-situ production of PC members and to calculate the time required for respective process. To do so, this study is a basic research on calculating the time for in-situ production using a linear scheduling method.
The dynamic response characteristics of a floating ocean city are examined for presenting the basic data for the design of huge offshore structures supported by a large number of floating bodies in waves. The numerical approach which is accurate in linear system is based on combination of a three dimensional source distribution method, wave interaction theory and the finite element method of using the space frame element. The hydrodynamic interactions among the floating bodies are taken into account in their exact form within the context of linear potential theory in the motion and structural analysis. The method is applicable to an arbitrary number of three dimensional bodies having any individual body geometries and geometrical arrangement with the restriction that the circumscribed, bottom-mounted. Imaginary vertical cylinder for each body does not contain any part of the other body. The validity of this procedure was verified by comparing with experimental results obtained in the literature.
