  • Success in modern war depends on electronic warfare. Therefore, It is very important to identify the kind of Radar PRI modulations in a lot of Radar electromagnetic waves. In this paper, I propose an algorithm to identify Linear up Sliding PRI, Non-Linear up Sliding PRI and Linear Down Sliding PRI, Non-Linear Down Sliding PRI among many Radar pulses. We applied not only the TDOA(Time Difference Of Arrival) concept of Radar pulse signals incoming to antennas but also a rising and falling curve characteristics of those PRI's. After making a program by such algorithm, we input each 40 data to those PRI's identification programs and as a result, those programs fully processed the data in according to expectations. In the future, those programs can be applied to the ESM, ELINT system.

  • In recent years alternative navigation system such as a DBRN (Data-Base Referenced Navigation) system using geophysical information is getting attention in the military navigation systems in advanced countries. Specifically TRN (Terrain Referenced Navigation) algorithm research is important because TRN system is a practical DBRN application in South Korea at present time. This paper presents an integrated navigation algorithm that combines a linear profile-based TRN and INS (Inertial Navigation System). We propose a correlation analysis method between TRN performance and terrain roughness index. Then we propose a conditional position update scheme that utilizes the position output of the conventional linear profile type TRN depending on the terrain roughness index. Performance of the proposed algorithm is verified through Monte Carlo computer simulations using the actual terrain database. The results show that the TRN/INS integrated algorithm, even when the initial INS error is present, overcomes the shortcomings of linear profile-based TRN and improves navigation performance.

  • In this paper, we present robust estimation and detection algorithms for discrete-time switched linear systems whose output measurements are corrupted by noises. First, a mode estimation algorithm is proposed based on the minimum distance criterion. Then, state variables are also observed under the active mode estimate. Second, a detection algorithm is constructed to detect the mode switching of the switched system. With the boundedness of measurement noise, the proposed estimation algorithm returns the exact active mode and approximate state information of the switched system. In addition, the detection algorithm can detect the switching time within a pre-determined time interval after the actual switching occurred.

  • The objective of this study is to suggest a credit scoring model of a capital company's customers by integration of multiple classifiers using genetic algorithm. For this purpose , an integrated model is derived in two phases. In first phase, three types of classifiers MLP (Multi-Layered Perceptron), RBF (Radial Basis Function) and linear models - are trained, in which each type has three ones respectively so htat we have nine classifiers totally. In second phase, genetic algorithm is applied twice for integration of classifiers. That is, after htree models are derived from each group, a final one is from these three, In result, our suggested model shows a superior accuracy to any single ones.

  • The optimal design of the squeeze film damper (SFD) for rotor system has been studied in previous researches. However, these researches have not been considering jumping or nonlinear phenomena of a rotor system with SFD. This paper represents an optimization technique for linear and nonlinear response of a simple rotor system with SFDs by using a hybrid GA-SA algorithm which combined enhanced genetic algorithm (GA) with simulated annealing algorithm (SA). The damper design parameters are the radius, length and radial clearance of the damper. The objective function is to minimize the transmitted load between SFD and foundation at the operating and critical speeds of the rotor system with SFD which has linear and nonlinear unbalance responses. The numerical results show that the transmitted load of the SFD is greatly reduced in linear and nonlinear responses for the rotor system.

  • In this paper, a small and effective attitude estimation system for a humanoid robot was developed. Four small inertial sensors were packed and used for inertial measurements(3D accelerometer and three 1D gyroscopes.) An effective 3D pose estimation algorithm for low cost DSP using an extended Kalman filter was developed and evaluated. The 3D pose estimation algorithm has a very simple structure composed by 3 modules of a linear acceleration estimator, an external acceleration detector and an pseudo-accelerometer output estimator. The algorithm also has an effective switching structure based on probability and simple feedback loop for the extended Kalman filter. A special test equipment using linear motor for the testing of the 3D pose sensor was developed and the experimental results showed its very fast convergence to real values and effective responses. Popular DSP of TMS320F2812 was used to calculate robot's 3D attitude and translated acceleration, and the whole system were packed in a small size for humanoids robots. The output of the 3D sensors(pitch, roll, 3D linear acceleration, and 3D angular rate) can be transmitted to a humanoid robot at 200Hz frequency.

  • A simplified algorithm is proposed for fast estimation of the material quantities required for the construction of rubble-mound breakwaters. The proposed algorithm is able to employ only the data available at feasibility study phase such as the maximum draught of the design ship selected to transport the cargos to the harbor despite, because at the feasibility phase, information for the planned harbor is likely to be very limited. A linear-constant waterdepth model together with a proposed section configuration for the breakwaters, which is customary for harbors, is considered to calculate the quantity of materials. The numerical simulation of the wave characteristics has been verified using the recorded wave data collected by a buoy installed near the Neka harbor in Caspian Sea waters. A case study has been also applied to four harbors to validate the proposed algorithm. The estimated weights using the proposed linear-constant and multi-linear waterdepth models were compared using the bathymetry maps and layouts of these harbors. A computer program, written in QBasic language, has been developed to simulate the wave characteristics and to estimate the material quantities needed to construct a rubble-mound breakwater. The obtained results show that taking into account the acceptable accuracies normally applied to the feasibility study and conceptual design phases, the proposed algorithm is sufficiently accurate and highly effective for the conceptual estimation of materials' quantities of breakwaters in the feasibility study phase of harbor projects.

  • This paper This paper proposes a new inverse-quantization(IQ) table interpolation algorithm, specialized Digital Signal Processor(DSP) instructions and hardware architecture for digital audio codecs. Non-linear inverse quantization algorithm is representatively used in both MPEG-1 Layer-3 and MPEG-2/4 Advanced Audio Coding(AAC). The proposed instructions are optimized for the non-linear inverse quantization. The proposed algorithm can minimize operational complexity which reduces total computational load. Performance comparisons show a significant improvement of average error. The proposed instructions and hardware architecture can reduce 20% of the instruction counts and minimize computational loads of IQ algorithms effectively compared with existing IQ table interpolation algorithms. Proposed algorithm can implement commercial DSPs.

  • Recently, nano-methodology is increasingly important as the ruler for measuring nano-technology, and we applied the linear encoder to nano-methodology. The quadrature output in the linear encoder has an effect on increasing the resolution in some techniques. Already, various interpolation techniques based on the quadrature signal have applied to the precision servo system. In this paper, we propose a new interpolation algorithm for ultra-precision positioning in the low speed with simulation by MATLAB SIMULINK. This method modified previous methods and was properly designed for some given control system. To verify, we first fulfilled the encoder signal test to find main parameters fer the signal transformation, then we proved the proposed interpolation algorithm by experiments, which show that the result of the interpolation algorithm corresponds with the measurement of the laser interferometer in 100 nm unit approximately. In addition, we can get more precise measurement by more accurate and noise-free signal. So we need to compensate imperfections in the encoder signal. After that, we will apply this algorithm to nano positioning system.

  • This paper deals with the minimum linear arrangement(MinLA) of a lattice graph, to which an approximate algorithm of linear complexity O(n) remains as a viable solution, deriving the optimal MinLA of 31,680 for 33×33 lattice. This paper proposes a partitioning arrangement algorithm of complexity O(1) that delivers exact solution to the minimum linear arrangement. The proposed partitioning arrangement algorithm could be seen as loading boxes into a container. It firstly partitions m rows into r1,r2,r3 and n columns into c1,c2,c3, only to obtain 7 containers. Containers are partitioning with a rule. It finally assigns numbers to vertices in each of the partitioned boxes location-wise so as to obtain the MinLA. Given m,n≥11, the size of boxes C2,C4,C6 is increased by 2 until an increase in the MinLA is detected. This process repeats itself 4 times at maximum given m,n≤100. When tested to lattice in the range of 2≤n≤100, the proposed algorithm has proved its universal applicability to lattices of both m=n and m≠n. It has also obtained optimal results for 33×33 and 100×100 lattices superior to those obtained by existing algorithms. The minimum linear arrangement algorithm proposed in this paper, with its simplicity and outstanding performance, could therefore be also applied to the field of Very Large Scale Integration circuit where m,n are infinitely large.
