  • This paper proposes a study on the effects of motion errors for acceleration/ deceleration types. The proposed motion errors are consisted of two errors : one due to transient response of servomechanism and the other due to gain mismatching of positioning servo motor. They are derived from using laplace transformation for the block diagram of general purpose feed drive system. In order to minimize them, the paper proposes second order polynomial regression model by using orthogonal array method which describes one of experimental methodolgies. The validity and reliability of the study was veri lied on a vertical machining center equipped with FANUC 0MC through a series of experiments and analyses.

  • This paper presents a monopulse feed structure with low sidelobe monopulse pattern, which consists of a E-plane corrugated horn and a unfiorm pick-up aperture power divider. Tfhe design methods and epxerimental resutls of the E-plane corrugated feeder are described. Modified hybrid mode analysis and GSM (generalized scattering matrix) methods are introduced to design the E-plane corrugated feed horns. The 24-port corrugated feeder is designed using modified hybrid mode analysis initially and verified using GSM methods. Measurement results show that this feeder has low return loss and sidelobe level at sum and difference channel, respectively.

  • In this paper, a high-power 20-way stripline power divider with low insertion loss and low side lobe level is successfully designed, fabricated and measured as a feed network for an S-band linear array antenna having Dolph-Chebyshev current distribution which has a narrow beam width and very low side lobe level (SLL). The 20-way stripline power divider consists of an 8-way power divider, three 4-way power dividers and three ring hybrids. It utilizes a T-junction structure as a basic element for power dividing. Notches and modified input/output N-to-stripline transitions are used for improving insertion loss and return loss. The fabricated power divider shows insertion loss less than 0.3 ㏈ and rms phase mismatch less than 8o in the full bandwidth. A final 40-way power divider is synthesized by combining symmetrically two 20-way power dividers and is expected to have SLL over 40 dB, based on the measured results of the 20-way power divider.

  • In this paper, compact linear dual polarized series-fed $1{\times}2$ linear and $2{\times}2$ planar arrays antennas for airborne SAR applications are proposed. The proposed antenna design consists of a square radiating patch that is placed on top of the substrate, a quarter wave transformer and $50-{\Omega}$ matched transformer. Matching between a radiating patch and the $50-{\Omega}$ microstrip line is accomplished through a direct coupled-feed technique with the help of an impedance inverter (${\lambda}/4$ impedance transformer) placed at both horizontal and vertical planes, in the case of the $2{\times}2$ planar array. The overall size for the prototype-1 and prototype-2 fabricated antennas are $1.9305{\times}0.9652{\times}0.05106{{\lambda}_0}^3$ and $1.9305{\times}1.9305{\times}0.05106{{\lambda}_0}^3$, respectively. The fabricated structure has been tested, and the experimental results are similar to the simulated ones. The CST MWS simulated and vector network analyzer measured reflection coefficient ($S_{11}$) results were compared, and they indicate that the proposed antenna prototype-1 yields the impedance bandwidth >140 MHz (9.56-9.72 GHz) defined by $S_{11}$<-10 dB with 1.43%, and $S_{21}$<-25 dB in the case of prototype-2 (9.58-9.74 GHz, $S_{11}$< -10 dB) >140 MHz for all the individual ports. The surface currents and the E- and H-field distributions were studied for a better understanding of the polarization mechanism. The measured results of the proposed dual polarized antenna were in accordance with the simulated analysis and showed good performance of the S-parameters and radiation patterns (co-pol and cross-pol), gain, efficiency, front-to-back ratio, half-power beam width) at the resonant frequency. With these features and its compact size, the proposed antenna will be suitable for X-band airborne synthetic aperture radar applications.

  • This paper describes design for dual-linear polarization antenna using EMC(electromagnetic-coupled) dipole. EMC dipole has a simple element structure and it is fed by microstrip line. Vortical and horizontal polarization are determined by structure of dipole fed by microstrip line. FDTD Method is used for an analysis of antenna element. Length, width, height and offset of dipole are designed for 1-element antenna. Resonant length of diploe differs from the calculated value by a formula because of coupling effect of dipole and feed line. Radiation Power is controlled by the offset of dipole. In prectical fabrication of antenna array, a constant height of dipoles is required. Therefore, the teflon plate with height of 0.8 mm is considered in antenna element design for the vertical polarization.

  • In this paper, the design, fabrication and experiment on a planar array antenna with a flat-topped radiation pattern for a mobile base station antenna were described. The current distribution of an antenna aperture, which is easily realizable in a feeding network compared with the conventional one of sin(x)/x was optimized for shaping a desired flat-topped radiation pattern. The planar array antenna designed in this paper has a rectangular lattice and is composed of array elements of 16${\times}$8. Each radiating element, which is a microstrip element fed coaxially, has a linear vertical polarization and the feed network which use a Wilkinson power divider and a 180$^{\circ}$ ring hybrid coupler as a base element is designed. The flat-topped radiation pattern with 90$^{\circ}$ is shaped by 16 array elements with the element spacing of 0.55 λ$_{ο}$ in the azimuth plane, and the normal radiation pattern with 10$^{\circ}$ is shaped by 8 array elements with the element spacing of 0.65 λ$_{ο}$ in the elevation plane. Also, the planar array antenna is symmetrically divided into four parts. It consists of one hundred-twenty-eight radiating elements, thirty-two 1-4 column dividers, low 1-8 row dividers and one 1-4 input power divider. In order to verify electrical performances of the planar way antenna proposed in this paper, the experimental breadboard operated in tile band of 1.92~2.17 GHz(IMT2000 band) was fabricated, and its experimental results were a good agreement with simulation ones.

  • Tetracycline antibiotics have been widely used not only therapeutics but feed additives. There are many methods for the isolation and determination of tetracycline antibiotics in animal muscle tissue. But those methods take much time and labor, so it is difficult to analyse many samples simultaneously. A rapid isolation method and liquid chromatographic determination of tetracycline antibiotics in animal muscle tissue (bovine, porcine, chicken) is presented. Blank control and tetracyclines fortified samples (0.5g) were blended with $C_{18}$ containing 0.05g each of oxalic acid and disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate. After homogenize, homogenate was transferred to glass column made from 10ml glass syringe and compressed to 4~4.5ml volume. A column made from the $C_{18}$/meat matrix was washed with hexane (8ml) and dichloromethane (8ml, if needed), following which the tetracyclines were eluted, vith methanol or 0.01M methanolic oxalic acid (8ml). The eluates containing tetracyclines analytes were free from interfering compounds when analysed by HPLC with UV detection (photodiode array at 360nm). Standard curve for each tetracycline showed a linear response at the range of $0.05{\sim}1.0{\mu}g/ml$ and tetracycline antibiotics were eluted within 4ml of eluted volume. All tetracycline antibiotics except tetracycline were stable during the concentration process at $40^{\circ}C$ and time required for concentration was 3~4 hours. Fortified samples containing oxalic aicd and EDTA represented more good recoveries than those of not-contained sample. Recoveries were 91.8~110.1% (oxytetracycline; OTC), 57.7~79.5% (tetracycline; TC), 78.1~88.6% (chlortetracyclines; CTC) and 88.4~100.6% (doxycycline; DC) in pork tissue, 101.1~126.8% (OTC), 66.4~75.4% (TC), 79.2~88.1% (CTC) and 69.3~86.7% (DC) in beef tissue, and 90.8~95.6% (OTC), 66.2~84.4% (TC), 75.7~77.2% (CTC) and 55.6~80.7% (DC) in chicken muscle tissue. The detection limits validated in muscle tissue by this method were $0.05{\mu}g/g$ for OTC and TC, and $0.1{\mu}g/g$ for CTC and DC.
