정상상태 특성 개선을 위한 단상 영구자석형 동기기의 자기회로 설계 (Design of Magnetic Circuit of Line-start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor to Develop the Characteristics at the Steady State)

  • This study investigates magnetic circuit design of the Single-phase Line-start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (LSPM) to develop the characteristics in steady state. In this paper, the saliency ratio, that is the ratio of q-axial inductance to d-axial inductance, and the inductance difference between q-axial inductance and d-axial inductance are increased. Design factor is selected permanent magnet position and rotor diameter. The analysis method of the synchronous motor on d-/q- axis coordinates is used for the positive component and the equivalent circuit of the induction motor is applied for the negative component analysis. Back-emf and d-q- axial inductance is analyzed by using 2 dimensional Finite Element Method (FEM). Characteristic analysis results with variation of design factor are reflected magnetic circuit design of LSPM. The characteristics of design model are compared with the characteristic of initial model.

  • The purpose of This paper is the optimal design of a single-phase LSPM(Line-Start Permanent magnet Motor). A single-phase LSPM has a permanent magnet in the rotor that is same as induction motor. For that reason, the transient characteristics are very different from an induction motor Therefore, we need the PM design to consider a transient and steady- state characteristics. In this paper, we designed a single-phase LSPM that has a high power and a good starting characteristics, and analyzed the performance of designed LSPM by varying each parameters. Finally, we examined and compared the simulation results and the prototype motor's characteristics.

  • This paper deals with optimum design criteria for maximum torque density & minimum current density of a single phase line-start permanent-magnet motor (LSPMM) using RSM (Response Surface Methodology) & FEM (Finite Element Method). The focus of this paper is to find a design solution through the comparison of torque density and minimum current density resulting from rotor shape variations. And then, a central composite design (CCD) mixed resolution is introduced, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) is conducted to determine the significance of the fitted regression model.

  • This study investigates the characteristic analysis of Line-start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor considering PWM Inverter. The effects of the PWM inverter on machine characteristic are analyzed by using direct co-simulation of Matlab Simulink and Flux2D. Validity of analysis method is confirmed by the analysis result of Sin-wave power Model.

  • In previous structure of single phase LSPM, there is large torque ripple that makes a noise and a vibration by a distortion of flux distribution in air gap. By this reason, the single phase LSPM is not accepted home applications. So, in this paper, we propose new structure of single phase LSPM(Line Start Permanent magnet Motor). The proposed model is reduced a torque ripple about a half than previous model.

  • This paper deals with analysis method of single-phase line-start permanent magnet motors. Unbalanced magnetic fields produced by single-phase input make analysis difficult. To solve this unbalanced magnetic fields, this paper proposed symmetrical components transformations as well as d-q axis ones. Parameters in d-q voltage equations were calculated by Finite Element Analysis.

  • Contemporary power systems demand efficient and sustainable technologies. Single-phase induction motors, while widely used, face efficiency challenges due to inherent rotor losses. Proposed solutions include the Line-start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (LSPMSM), leveraging permanent magnets for enhanced energy density but facing demagnetization and cost issues. Alternatively, the Line-start Synchronous Reluctance Motor (LSRM) operates as a hybrid motor without permanent magnets, reducing rotor losses and potentially improving efficiency. This paper focuses on designing an LSRM rotor for air conditioner compressors, analyzing start-up characteristics and efficiency through finite element analysis. A comparative study with single-phase induction motors provides insights for future motor technology selection, balancing efficiency and other requirements.

Design of Self-Starting Hybrid Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Connected Directly to Line

  • In view of the current state of the reserves of electric energy generated resources and the share of electric motors in electricity consumption, many researches and studies related to efficiency in electric motors are being made. The presented work is related to the Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (AF-PMSM), which has recently undergone significant work based on the development of magnet and motor technology. In this study, a novel AF-PMSM was designed analytically through Finite Element Method (FEM) which can be started by connecting to a line such as an asynchronous motor in a transient state and can operate with high efficiency and power factor after synchronization in steady state without the need for an expensive motor drive. According to the obtained FEM results, a design with an efficiency class of IE4 of 5.5 kW shaft power, a 4 poles motor was obtained. As a result, economic calculations indicate that the extra cost of the designed Line start AF-PMSM with respect to the asynchronous motor is rapidly compensated by energy saving due to a more efficient operation, especially constant speed operations. As a result of the analysis obtained, the targeted values are reached. For induction motors and radial flux permanent magnet synchronous motors, a good alternative motor that can operate with high efficiency and power factor has been obtained.

  • In this paper, we study about the stator winding magnetization method and the magnetizing fixture magnetization method in post-assembly magnetization. Most of small electrical machine use the stator winding magnetization method but it is impossible to magnetize the permanent magnet by the stator winding magnetization method when the capacity of machine increases and the coercive force of magnet increases. And the eddy current disturbs the magnetization seriously in case of LSPM(Line Start Permanent magnet Motor) that have conductor bar in rotor. Hence, the magnetization fixture is required. So, in this paper we study about the post-assembly magnetization method that can use the stator winding magnetization method or must use the magnetization fixture magnetization method.

  • This paper presents the characteristic analysis of thermal behavior of a single-phase line-start permanent magnet motor(LSPM) for high-efficiency design. By analyzing of thermal behavior, it can consider demagnetization characteristics of permanent magnets. In addition, by calculating the allowable current density it will be able to reduce the size of the stator. For this reason single-phase LSPM is necessary to examine the thermal analysis. Thermal analysis was performed using heat source mapping, and it is verified by finite element method.
