  • Satellite operating agencies are constantly monitoring conjunctions between satellites and space objects. Two line element (TLE) data, published by the Joint Space Operations Center of the United States Strategic Command, are available as raw data for a preliminary analysis of initial conjunction with a space object without any orbital information. However, there exist several sorts of uncertainties in the TLE data. In this paper, we suggest and analyze a method for estimating the uncertainties in the TLE data through mean, standard deviation of state vector residuals and covariance matrix. Also the estimation results are compared with actual results of orbit determination to validate the estimation method. Characteristics of the state vector residuals depending on the orbital elements are examined by applying the analysis to several satellites in various orbits. Main source of difference between the covariance matrices are also analyzed by comparing the matrices. Particularly, for the Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-2, we examine the characteristics of the residual variation of state vector and covariance matrix depending on the orbital elements. It is confirmed that a realistic consideration on the space situation of space objects is possible using information from the analysis of mean, standard deviation of the state vector residuals of TLE and covariance matrix.

  • For the Cartesian space position controlled robot, it is required to have the accurate mapping from the Cartesian space to the joint space in order to command the desired joint trajectories correctly. since the actual mapping from Cartesian space to joint space is obtained at the joint coordinate not at the actuator coordinate, uncertainty in Jacobian can be present. In this paper, two feasible neural network schemes are proposed to compensate for the kinematic Jacobian uncertainties. Uncertainties in Jacobian can be compensated by identifying either actuator Jacobian off-line or the inverse of that in on-line fashion. the case study of the stenciling robot is examined.

  • The problem of establishing the servo system to reach the desired location keeping all features in the field of view and following a straight line is considered. In addition, robustness of camera calibration parameters is considered in this paper. The proposed approach is based on switching from position-based visual servoing (PBVS) to image-based visual servoing (IBVS) and allows the camera path to follow a straight line. To achieve the objective, a pose estimation method is required; the camera's target pose is estimated from the obtained images without the knowledge of the object. A switched control law moves the camera equipped to a robot end-effector near the desired location following a straight line in Cartesian space and then positions it to the desired pose with robustness to camera calibration error. Finally simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed visual servoing technique.

  • In this paper, we determine position vector of a line of curvature of a regular surface which is relatively normal-slant helix, with respect to Darboux frame. Then, a vector differential equation is established by means Darboux formulas, in the case of the geodesic torsion is vanishes. In terms of solution, we determine the parametric representation of a line of curvature which is relatively normal-slant helix, with respect to standard frame in Euclidean 3-space. Thereafter, we apply this result to find the position vector of a line of curvature which is isophote curve.

  • We present a kinematic study of the two young OB associations Cygnus OB2 and Carina OB1 using the recently released Gaia astrometric data. The unimodal distributions of parallaxes of stars indicate that these associations are real stellar systems, rather than line-of-sight coincidences. The associations are found to comprise dense star clusters and a sparse halo which have different proper motions. Clusters have small spatial sizes with small dispersions in proper motion, while the haloes extending to tens of parsecs have a large dispersion in proper motion. We speculate that this aspect is related to that found in molecular clouds, the so-called "line width-size" relation. In this talk, the formation process of these associations is discussed, based on our findings.

  • To investigate whether radio galaxies have systematically different accretion disk compared to radio-quiet AGN, we obtained high quality optical spectra for a sample of 22 young radio galaxies, using the KAST Double Spectrograph at the Lick 3-m telescope. Young radio galaxies are particularly useful since the age of the radio phenomena is comparable to that of accretion disk. Based on the optical emission-line diagnostics of narrow line region, which is thought to be photoionized by the nuclear radiation, we constrain the states of the accretion disk. In addition to strong emission lines, i.e., [O I], [O II], [O III], and [Ne III], we use the [Ar III] line to break the degeneracy between the ionization parameter and the SED shape. We find that young radio galaxies show systematically different emission line ratios compared to radio-quiet Type II AGN, suggesting that young radio galaxies probably have the power-law SED without a strong big blue bump. We will present the main results of the emission-line diagnostics.

  • In order to analyze of the color perception Farnsworth Test Panel D-15 in the CIELab color space coordinates, it was measured by the reflectance spectrum of the 380~780nm wavelength regions. The Test Panel D-15 was situated in the near origin point of higher the saturation in CIELab coordinates (a, b). Normal person perceived to the similar color for the color of small color difference, and color deficiency person depended on the confusing color line and the neutral point unconcerned with the color difference. In case of Ptotanopia, Deutrnopia, r-g defect, y-b defect with the color deficiency, the neutral points position (a,b) were each (2.12,1.02), (4.25,2.05), (2.51,0.25), (1.20,-1.10).

  • The orientation space representation is constructed by treating the orientation parameters, which Gabor filters can be turned, as a continuous variable. The problem of multiple orientation line segmentation is dealt with by thresholding 3D images of the orientation space and then detecting the connected components therein. In this way, X-junctions and T-junctions are able to be separated effectively. Experimental results are presented using synthesized image.

  • A new method is proposed for stereo vision where solution to disparity map is presented in terms of Line constraint and Reliability space -- the first constraint proposes a progressive framework for stereo matching which applies local area pixel-values from corresponding lines in the left and right image pairs. The second states that reliability space based on corresponding points records the disparity and then we are able to apply the median filter in order to reduce the noises which occur in the process. A coarse to fine result is presented after the median filtering, which improves the final result qualitatively. Experiment is evaluated by rectified stereo matching images pairs from Middlebury datasets and has proved that those two adopted strategies yield good matching quantitative results in terms of fast running speed.

  • Digital images of cultural relics captured using line scan cameras present limitations due to uneven intensity and low contrast. To address this issue, this report proposes a colour linear array image enhancement method that can maintain a constant colour. First, the colour linear array image is converted from the red-green-blue (RGB) colour space into the hue-saturation-intensity colour space, and the three components of hue, saturation, and intensity are separated. Subsequently, the hue and saturation components are held constant while the intensity component is processed using the established intensity compensation model to eliminate the uneven intensity of the image. On this basis, the contrast of the intensity component is enhanced using an improved local contrast enhancement method. Finally, the processed image is converted into the RGB colour space. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can significantly improve the visual effect of colour linear array images. Moreover, the objective quality evaluation parameters are improved compared to those determined using existing methods.
