Optimal Design for Starting-Torque of Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (직립 기동 영구자석 동기 전동기의 기동 토크 최적화 설계)

  • The line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor has a high efficiency and an advantage in constant speed operation regardless of the effect of load variation. However it is difficult to predict the performance of characteristics accurately, because of the unbalanced starting torque with the initial starting position of the rotor and the generation of a break torque. In this paper the dynamic characteristics of the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor are described and compared with those of the squirrel-cage induction motor through the simulation to find the characteristics of the permanent magnets and the rotor bars in the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor.

  • Electric motor efficient improvement from home appliance field is important to the effect reducing the energy consumption. But the electric motor design/analysis technology is still insufficient. Specially the electric motor design/analysis technology of satisfying characteristic of both the induction motor and the synchronous motor such as Line start permanent motor. Therefore the electric motor design/analysis technology is urgently demanded reliability. This paper proposes the sing1e-phase line-start permanent magnet motor to develop the motor it with be able to alternate the sing-phase induction motor it is a refrigerator compressor motor. The sing-phase induction motor is analyzed in the steady state. And we have a certification test to compare our single-phase line-start permanent magnet motor with the sing-phase induction motor. In order to improve the performance, the stator of the single-phase line-start permanent magnet motor is same as the stator of the sing-phase induction motor and changes the rotor form and has the permanent magnet. It used the Finite Element Method(FEM) which is widely used with electronic-magnetic field numerical analysis method.

  • This paper deals with analysis for demagnetization characteristic of a ferrite magnet line start motor using FEM. Maximum start and clock currents are calculated by transient state voltage and dynamic equation, and then, these currents are applied to FE analysis. The characteristics of motor according to partial demagnetization are analyzed from FE analytic results, and rotor shape is designed for improvement of demagnetization characteristic.

  • 본 논문에서는 단상 LSM(Line-Start Permanent Magnet Motor)의 토크리플 저감을 위하여 고정자 슬롯의 보조권선의 턴 수의 배치를 최적화 하였다. 보조권선의 최적화 과정은 고정자 슬롯 보조권선의 턴수 배치를 통하여 고정자 자속이 가장 정현파에 가까워지는 권선배치를 선정하였으며, DOE(Design of Experiment)를 통해 수행하였다. FEM(Finite Element Method)을 통하여 기존 모델과 최적화 모델의 특성을 비교 검토하였다.

  • A single-phase line-start synchronous reluctance motor (LSSynRM) has merits of low cost, high efficiency and reliability. LSSynRM has an unbalanced magnetic circuit caused by flux barriers and various shapes of conductor bars when starting. Thus the motor may generate unstable starting torque in accordance with the initial starting position of the rotor. This paper presents the rotor design to improve starting performance of the LSSynRM. Design variables are the number and the shape of the conductor bars. This design result is compared with the initial prototype and single-phase induction motor.

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis method using d-q axis equivalent circuit considering iron loss in a single-phase line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor. The iron loss resistance to account for the iron loss is included in the equivalent circuit to improve the modeling accuracy. Furthermore, for the improved calculation of the iron loss, the iron loss is calculated from the magnetic flux density by 2-dimensional finite element method. The result is represented as the iron loss resistance and connected in parallel with the total induced voltage. Therefore, the currents can be expressed as the summation the output current with the current corresponding to the iron loss. Finally, the steady state characteristic analysis results are compared with the experimental results to verify this approach.

  • In this paper, optimized model was designed for the starting characteristic of the Single-Phase Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor by using the Design of Experiment. A field pole angle, thickness and distance from center axis of permanent magnet were selected as design factor. We executed the transient state characteristic analysis of 8 test models. The transient state characteristic analysis was executed by using the 2 dimensional Finite Element Method and the Time Difference Method. We checked the fact that the selected design factor affected starting characteristic of the Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. Depend on this result we found the optimized design point by using the response optimization.

  • This paper attempts to design and present a comparison of classical Direct Torque Flux Control (DTFC) for Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (LSPMSM) and its equal Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). In order to present an in-depth analysis, both motors for DTFC Voltage Source Inverter (VSI)-fed in the same situations of different conditions are simulated and tested. The advantages of the proposed method for LSPMSM over the PMSM are discussed and analyzed.

  • This paper shows the characteristic analysis of single-phase line start permanent magnet (LSPM) motors considering the overhang structure. To achieve the low-cost design of an LSPM motor, the overhang structure is adapted for the rotor with a constraint of a fixed magnet volume. To obtain the dynamic and steady performance of the motor, the circuit parameters are extracted using the 3D-static FEM(Finite Element Method) and the d-q equivalent circuit is used. The performance of the model with overhang is compared with the conventional model without overhang on the condition that both models have a fixed volume for the permanent magnet.
