In this paper a new distributive control system for BA(Building Automation ) lighting control used on general microprocessors is presented. For optimal lighting control and saving energy, The system have to control the group and pattern lighting control as well as individual light control at one time. Tn this paper, This functions are accomplished with low-cost and simple microprocessor. A plurality of modulated light control terminals are connected to the central control unit through a pair of power line. This power line provide both power and signal to the each terminal and the data is transmitted through cyclic time division multiplex transmission. With this structure a low-cost distributive control system for lighting applications has been achieved, allowing energy and maintenance saving and reliability increase of the light control system.
A novel method to control the viewing direction by moving aperture location in 4-f illumination optics to control light direction is proposed. Based on integral imaging principle, the relayed point light sources by 4-f optics are modulated by a spatial light modulator, displaying three-dimensional images. In the proposed method, we locate the aperture, which acts as a band pass filter, around an optic axis to control the light direction. Resultantly, assuming that we know the viewer position by a tracking system, we can display appropriate three-dimensional images over large viewing angle.
In this study, we utilized the duty factor of the transition frequency modulation (TFM) for the illumination control of the light emitting diode (LED) light in visible light communication (VLC). The average optical power is linearly proportional to the duty factor in TFM waveforms. We used the transition frequencies of Na=5 and Nb=1 for the high and the low bits, respectively, of the non-return-to-zero (NRZ) data in the VLC transmitter. A resistor and capacitor high-pass filter (HPF) was used in the VLC receiver to eliminate the 120 Hz optical noise from adjacent lighting lamps and the spikes at the HPF output were used to recover NRZ data from the TFM waveform. In experiments, the illumination of the LED light was controlled in the range of 25-90% of the constant-wave optical power by changing the duty factor of the TFM waveforms.

Plant factories with artificial lights require a large amount of electrical energy for lighting; therefore, enhancement of light use efficiency will decrease the cost of plant production. The objective of this study was to enhance the light use efficiency by using filters to diffuse the light from LED sources in plant factory conditions. The two treatments used diffuse glasses with haze factors of 40% and 80%, and a control without the filter. For each treatment, canopy light distribution was evaluated by a 3-D ray tracing method and canopy photosynthesis was measured with a sealed acrylic chamber. Sixteen lettuces for each treatment were cultivated hydroponically in a plant factory for 28 days after transplanting and their growth was compared. Simulation results showed that the light absorption was concentrated on the upper part of the lettuce canopy in treatments and control. The control showed particularly poor canopy light distribution with hotspots of light intensity; thus the light use efficiency decreased compared to the treatments. Total light absorption was the highest in the control; however, the amount of effective light absorption was higher in treatments than the control, and was highest in treatment using filters with a haze factor of 80%. Canopy photosynthesis and plant growth were significantly higher in all the treatments. In conclusion, application of the diffuse glass filters enhanced the canopy light distribution, photosynthesis, and growth of the plants under LED lighting, resulting in enhanced the light use efficiency in plant factory conditions.

In this study we researched a spotlight in LED lighting. Ordinary LED spotlight was manufactured with characterized property of traveling straightness of LED light source, but multiple use of shell type LED, a yellow band has formed caused by light source interference between the LED. Also, there was a high miscellaneous light efficiency with losing light source homogeneity and efficiency due to light source control uneasiness. The study uses aspheric reflector and aspheric lens, so we can control the light source of LED spotlight with effectively and we reached surface light source by using COB/COM for LED module. Furthermore it can change its use by a reduced scale of light system. It has been designed to make its various application from low power consumption of bicycle lamp, up to high power consumption of automobile lamps and lighthouse.

A rapid thermal annealing system using tungsten halogen lamp has been designed and assembled. A control scheme where the temperature control is executed with calculated wafer temperature by considering the thermocouple delay rather than measured thermocouple temperature,is proposed. This control scheme gives more accurate control of the wafer temperature. In addition, the distribution of transmitted light power to the wafer in the system has been simulated, and lamp interval modification has been able to give more uniform light power distribution. Considering incident light spectrum, absorption, reflection, radiation of silicon, etc., temperature profile has been simulated. When the light power uniformity on the 3" wafer is below 1%, the temperature uniformity is about 2%.
Appling natural light to the spaces for the exhibition requires the compromises between the expectations of visitors whom are preferable to perceive the details of the works of art, and preservation of light sensitive artworks of least exposure to light. To solve the compromises, it requires a careful planing to control the penetration of the daylight by physical and mechanical devices such as diffusive glasses and blinds. The control of light penetration can also be achieved by providing spaces inside and outside of the building. The aim of this study is suggest the conceptual methods to control the daylight by space design. Museums and galleries using daylight were investigated how the daylight is controlled by the integrated spaces in the exhibition spaces. This study presents nine ways of controlling daylight penetration by space design.
LED lighting is used as artificial lighting for plant growth because it has high light efficiency and can radiate light of various wavelengths. In this paper, we have developed new structure LED lighting module to improve the performance of LED lighting for plant growth and proposed a lighting control system that can be controlled wirelessly. The proposed LED lighting module was fabricated using optical lens applied to tunnel light and simulated using Relux program. Results of simulation, we confirmed that the light distribution and average illuminance of the proposed lighting were improved. LED lighting control system was developed to wirelessly control R, G, B, W LED lighting according to plant type and growing season. Therefore, it is expected to provide the optimal lighting environment for plant growth and contribute to the improvement of farm productivity and convenience.

We investigated biomass, diatom species and fucoxanthin contents as cell growth, fatty acid and amino acid contents as nutritional composition of diatoms attached on plate to confirm effects of light emitting diodes (LEDs) due to block off natural light. In the single LED irradiation, biomass showed significantly higher to $30.0{\pm}6.48mg/m^2$ in white LED than that of others (P<0.05). The dominate diatom species was Navicula cancellata. Their lipid contents showed significantly higher to $112.9{\pm}19.23ug/mg$ dry matter (DM) in control than that of others LEDs. But eicosapetaenoic acid (EPA) contents showed significantly higher to $3.3{\pm}0.62ug/mg$ DM than others, but not significantly differed with natural control light treatment (P<0.05). And total protein contents are higher in control and blue LED light than that of others, but essential amino acid contents showed significantly higher to $3.2{\pm}4.8%$ in control (P<0.05). In mixing light with natural and LED light, biomass showed $2.6{\pm}0.22mg/m^2$ in blue LED (P<0.05). Fatty acids contents were not significantly differed with all treatments. Amino acid contents showed to $11.0{\pm}0.33ug/mg$ DM in white LED (P<0.05), but not significantly differed with others LED lights (P>0.05). Therefore, we could suggest that irradiation of blue LED in natural light very benefit to diatom culture for larvae of sea cucumber and abalone and do on.
Objectives: This study investigated the effect of infection control barrier thickness on power density, wavelength, and light diffusion of light curing units. Materials and Methods: Infection control barrier (Cleanwrap) in one-fold, two-fold, four-fold, and eightfold, and a halogen light curing unit (Optilux 360) and a light emitting diode (LED) light curing unit (Elipar FreeLight 2) were used in this study. Power density of light curing units with infection control barriers covering the fiberoptic bundle was measured with a hand held dental radiometer (Cure Rite). Wavelength of light curing units fixed on a custom made optical breadboard was measured with a portable spectroradiometer (CS-1000). Light diffusion of light curing units was photographed with DSLR (Nikon D70s) as above. Results: Power density decreased significantly as the layer thickness of the infection control barrier increased, except the one-fold and two-fold in halogen light curing unit. Especially, when the barrier was four-fold and more in the halogen light curing unit, the decrease of power density was more prominent. The wavelength of light curing units was not affected by the barriers and almost no change was detected in the peak wavelength. Light diffusion of LED light curing unit was not affected by barriers, however, halogen light curing unit showed decrease in light diffusion angle when the barrier was four-fold and statistically different decrease when the barrier was eight-fold (p < 0.05). Conclusions: It could be assumed that the infection control barriers should be used as two-fold rather than one-fold to prevent tearing of the barriers and subsequent cross contamination between the patients.
