양력선 방법을 이용한 지면효과가 날개의 공력성능에 미치는 영향 분석 (Analysis of the Influence of Ground Effect on the Aerodynamic Performance of a Wing Using Lifting-Line Method)

  • Weissinger의 방법을 기반으로 양력선 방법을 지면효과를 고려한 해석이 가능하도록 확장하였다. 이 방법을 이용하여 가로세로비 10의 타원형 날개와 인간동력항공기 날개에 대해 지면효과에 의한 공력성능 변화를 예측하였다. 날개가 지면에 가까워질수록 날개의 와류강도는 약간 증가하지만 내리흐름은 크게 감소한다. 인간동력항공기 날개의 경우에 날개가 지면에 가까울수록 양력은 증가하여 높이가 2m에서 양력계수는 지면효과를 받지 않을 때보다 5% 증가한다. 유도항력계수는 날개가 지면에서 스팬길이 높이에 있을 때에 지면효과가 없을 때보다 10% 감소하고 높이가 2m이면 55% 감소한다.

The Analysis of Three-dimensional Oxidation Process with Elasto-viscoplastic Model

  • This paper presents a three-dimensional numerical simulation for thermal oxidation process. A new elasto-viscoplastic model for robust numerical oxidation simulation is proposed. The three-dimensional effects of oxidation process such as mask lifting effect and corner effects are analyzed. In nano-scale process, the oxidant diffusion is punched through to the other side of the mask. The mask is lifted so the thickness of oxide region is greatly enhanced. The compressive pressure during the oxidation is largest in the mask corner of the island structure. This is because the masked area near the corner is surrounded by an area larger than the others in the island structure. This stress induces the retardation of the oxide growth, especially at the masked corner in the island structure.

The Effect of a Task-oriented Upper Arm Exercise on Stable and Unstable Surfaces on Dynamic Balance and Hand Function in Patient with Cerebral Palsy

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a task-oriented upper arm exercise performed in a sitting position on either an unstable support surface or a stable support surface for children with cerebral palsy. Methods: We prospectively evaluated 18 children with cerebral palsy. Eight subjects were randomly assigned to each of the stable and unstable support surface groups. We performed the upper arm exercise three times a week for 6 weeks. To confirm the effects of the intervention, the berg balance scale test, modified functional reaching test (MFRT), timed up and go test (TUG), and Jebsen-Taylor hand function test were conducted before and after the study. Results: Significant differences were observed in MFRT and TUG between the experimental and control groups (p<0.05). In the Jebsen-Taylor hand function test, there were significant differences between the groups for the items picking up small objects, stacking checkers, lifting large light objects, and lifting large heavy objects (p<0.05), but not for writing and stimulation of feeding. Significant differences were observed between the groups in items of card turning, lifting large light objects, and lifting heavy objects. Conclusion: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a task-oriented upper extremity exercise program for dynamic balance and hand function performed in a sitting position with either stable or unstable support by cerebral palsy patients. There were improvements in the two groups, but performing the exercise while sitting on an unstable support surface had a greater effect on dynamic balance and hand function than exercise while sitting on a stable supporting surface. The results of this study can be used to improve the daily lives of cerebral palsy patients.

심해저 광물자원 양광시스템 실증 시험을 위한 위험도 기반 선상 설비 설계 (Risk-based Design of On-board Facility for Lifting System Field Test of Deep-sea Mining System)

  • This study had the goal of designing onboard structures for a pre-pilot mining test (PPMT), which is required for the commercialization of the deep-sea mining industry. This PPMT is planned to validate the performance of a hydraulic lifting system and verify the concept of operating through a moon-pool in the east sea, Korea. All of the onboard equipment and facility were designed by KRISO. Because the test was performed at the first development, it is difficult to determine what risk will occur in the facility. Therefore, risk-based design is required in the facility for the PPMT, which includes the facility layout, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), and risk reduction plan. All of the expected performances of the lifting system itself and the onboard facilities were qualitatively validated using the risk-based design.

  • 이 논문은 3차원 정수 웨이브릿 변환을 이용한 손실 의료 영상 압축에 대한 방법을 보여준다. 의료영상에 3차원 웨이브릿 분할법과 3차원 spatial dependence tree를 이용한 Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees(SPIHT) algorithm을 제공한다. 또한 3차원 웨이브릿 분할법에서 정수 웨이브릿 필터들을 이용한 lifting방법을 이용하고, unitary 변환을 만들기 위하여 정확한 scaling을 이용한다. 압축률이 증가하면 할수록 인접한 coding unit사이에선 boundary effect가 생긴다. Video와 같지 않아서 인접한 coding unit사이에서의 boundary artifact는 보여서는 안 된다. 이러한 현상을 제거하기 위해서 인접한 coding unit사이에 axial domain으로 overlapping방법을 사용한다. 또한 코딩 할 때 여러 종류의 정수 필터들을 사용한다. 결과로 어떤 특정한 필터를 사용할 때 좋은 결과를 얻었고 overlapping방법을 사용했기 때문에 ringing artifacts는 거의 찾아 볼 수가 없게 되었다. 그리고 어두운 면을 코딩 할 때도 좋은 결과를 얻었다.

손잡이 너비, 높이, 수평 각도가 손수레 운전에 필요한 밀기, 들기, 회전 힘에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Handle Width, Height and Horizontal Angle on the Pushing, Lifting and Twisting Forces Required for the Handling of Barrows)

  • This study evaluated the effects of the handle width(shoulder width, 1.25${\times}$shoulder width, 1.5${\times}$shoulder width), height(3 levels : knee, medium, knuckle) and horizontal angle($0^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$) on the pushing, lifting, and twisting strengths which were required for carrying single or two wheel barrows. Twelve healthy college students(male) participated in the experiment. In each experimental condition($3{\times}3{\times}2$=18), the subjects exerted three forces(pushing, lifting, and twisting clockwise). The experimental conditions and three forces were tested in random order, and a minimum 2 minutes of rest was provided between exertions. Results showed that the mean and maximum pushing forces showed greater values when the horizontal angle was $0^{\circ}$ than $10^{\circ}$(p=0.016). However, the three independent variables had no statistically significant effects on the lifting forces(p>0.1). The mean and maximum twisting forces increased as the handle width became larger(p<0.05). Also, there was a marginal effect of the horizontal angle(p=0.065) on the twisting force. From the results of this study, the horizontal angle of $0^{\circ}$ and the wider handle width were suggested for the design of single-wheel barrows.

피막 형성제를 이용한 즉각 리프팅 기술 개발 (Development of Immediate Face Lifting Technology for Reducing Wrinkles by Using Film-Forming Agent)

  • 즉각 리프팅 화장품은 피부 표면에 주름을 펴주는 다양한 필름 형성제를 함유하고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 필름 형성 고분자는 점착성이 있으며, 피부에 문지르면 밀려 나오는 현상이 있다. 본 연구에서는 신속한 박막 형성 효과가 있는 규산나트륨이 피부 표면에 미치는 영향 및 즉각적인 주름 감소 효과에 초점을 두었다. 물유리 또는 가용성 유리로도 알려진 규산나트륨은 산화나트륨과 실리카를 함유한 화합물이다. 규산나트륨은 물에 쉽게 용해되어 알칼리성 용액을 생성하는 흰색 분말이다. 규산나트륨은 중성 및 알칼리성 용액에서 안정적이며, 규산나트륨 용액은 공기 중에서 건조되어 경화되고 박막을 신속하게 형성한다. 해당 용액을 피부에 도포할 경우, 물 증발 및 이온 결합 재형성에 의해 얇은 막이 형성된다. 또한 피부 표면에 강한 실록산(Si-O) 결합을 형성한다. 이러한 고착성을 화장품에 적용하면 탁월한 피부 수축 효과를 나타낼 수 있다. 규산나트륨 용액은 적절한 농도로 배합될 경우, 피부에 필름을 형성하여 리프팅 효과를 제공할 수 있다. 그러나 높은 농도의 규산나트륨이 적용될 경우, 피부 자극을 일으킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 끈적임이 없고, 밀림 현상이 없는 피부 탄력 관리 제형을 개발하기 위해 규산나트륨의 농도 및 다른 고정제와의 바람직한 조합을 연구했다. 규산나트륨과 다양한 증점 시스템을 사용하여 즉각적인 리프팅 효과가 있는 젤 제형을 개발했다. 다양한 증점제 중에서 알루미늄 마그네슘 실리케이트는 단시간에 느껴지는 리프팅 효과를 위해 규산나트륨과 가장 우수한 상용성을 지닌다. 즉각적인 물리적 리프팅 젤은 피부 임상 시험을 통해 낮은 자극성을 지니고 있음을 확인했다.

중형 공동수조에서의 프로펠러 단독특성에 대한 위벽효과 보정 연구 (Study on the Wall Effect Correction for Propeller Open Water Characteristics in the Medium Size Cavitation Tunnel)

  • 공동수조와 예인수조에서의 프로펠러 단독특성 차이를 보정할 수 있는 위벽효과 연구를 수행하였다. 우선 공동수조의 실험에서 프로펠러의 상류가 아닌 작동 평면 위치에서 계측된 유속을 프로펠러 전진속도로 정의할 경우, 위벽효과의 수정 량 및 단독특성차이가 현저히 줄어드는 것을 확인하였다. 다음으로 양력판 이론에 의한 단독특성 계산을 통해, 프로펠러 평면에서의 위벽효과를 구하고 앞의 결과에 추가적인 보정을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 예인수조에서의 단독특성과 더욱 더 좋은 일치를 보여 주는 것을 확인하였다.

An Advanced Study on the Development of Marine Lifting Devices Enhanced by the Blowing Techniques

  • High lifting devices used for control purposes have received much attention in the marine field. Hydrofoils for supporting the hull, roll stabilizer fins for developing the motion damping performance, rudders for maneuverability are the well-known devices. In the present study, the ability of the rudder with flap to produce high lift was analyzed. The boundary layer control, one of the flow control techniques, was adopted. Especially, to build the blown flap, a typical and representative type of a boundary layer control, a flapped rudder was designed and manufactured so that it could eject the water jet from the gap between the main foil and the flap to the flap surface tangentially. And it was tested in the towing tank. Simultaneously, to know the information about the 2-dimensional flow field, a fin model with similar characteristics as the rudder model applicable for the motion control was made and tested in the cavitation tunnel. In addition, local flow measurements were carried out to obtain physical information, for example, a surface pressure measurement and flow visualization around the flap. And CFD simulation was used to obtain information difficult to collect from the experiment about the 2-dimensional flow.

파형벽면에 근접하여 이동하는 원형실린더의 공력특성의 수치해석 (Numerical Study on Aerodynamic Characteristic of the Moving Circular Cylinder Near the Wavy Wall)

  • A Computational study was carried out in order to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of circular cylinder moving near the wavy wall at a low Reynolds number of 50. Lattice Boltzmann method was used to simulate the flow field and immersed boundary method was combined to represent the moving cylinder and wavy wall regardless of the constructed grid in the domain. The aerodynamics characteristics of the cylinder moving near the wavy wall were represented by the comparing the lifting coefficients with various altitudes (H/D) and wave length and amplitudes of wavy wall. It indicated that the twice of increasing-decreasing variations of lifting coefficient are obtained while the cylinder moves near the wavy wall. The first variation is obtained where the cylinder locates near the peak of the wavy wall. Another variation occurs when the distance to the wavy wall becomes longer after passing the peak. It was also classified that three different patterns of relation between the lifting and drag coefficient of the cylinder. However, the classification is limited to the case of the same order of altitude, amplitude and wave length of the wavy wall.
