A Practice of Developing New Environment-friendly System by Composites

  • This study intends to study about the blade performance loss occurred due to the variation in the shape of an airfoil from attachment/non-attachment of an erosion shield for the hovercraft. The model in this study has used NACA44XXseries, has designed NACA44XX-series by using the Auto CAD, and it designed the shape that has attached an erosion shield to this model according to the thickness and length. By using these models, a grid was generated by GAMBIT and the lift coefficient ($C_l$) and the drag coefficient ($C_d$) were calculated FLUENT code for flow analysis. Through this, the $C_l$ and $C_d$ have calculated and compared the lift-to-drag ratio that an indicator of airfoil performance according to the shape and attachment/non-attachment of erosion shield.

익형 형상 설계를 위한 실수기반 적응영역 다목적 유전자 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on Real-Coded Adaptive Range Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm for Airfoil Shape Design)

  • 본 연구에서 익형 형상 설계를 위해 전역적 다목적 최적화 기법인 적응영역 다목적 유전자 알고리즘 코드를 개발하였다. 저마하수에서 최대 양력과 순항조건에서 최대 양항비를 동시에 만족시키기 위해 목적함수로 양력계수와 양항비를 선정하였으며, 익형 형상 설계를 위해 PARSEC 기법을 이용하였다. 그 결과 참조 익형 대비 나은 공력 특성을 나타내는 2개의 익형이 선택되었으며 최대 양력과 양항비는 첫 번째 익형에 대해 약 4.89%, 5.38% 증가하였으며, 두 번째 익형에 대해 약 7.13%, 4.33% 증가하였다.

This study model has used NACA 4412, has designed NACA 4412 by using Auto CAD and designed the shape that has attached an erosion shield to this model according to the thickness and length. Through this, we have calculated and compared the lift-to-drag ratio that is an indicator of airfoil performance according to the shape and attachment/non-attachment of erosion shield.

원심펌프에서 회전수 및 유량변화가 운전특성에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effects of Rotation Rate and Flow Rate on the Operating Characteristics in Centrifugal Pump)

  • 본 논문은 규정 유량, 양정, 회전수 및 비속도가 각각 0.7 ㎥/min, 8 m, 1750 rpm, 182 m, ㎥/min, rpm인 원심펌프의 운전시 펌프의 회전수와 유량의 변화가 펌프의 운전특성에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 실험에 사용된 펌프는 안내깃이 없고 외주에 바로 접하여 와류실이 있는 볼류트 펌프를 회전수 1350 rpm에서 1750 rpm까지 100 rpm씩의 회전수 변화 5단계에 따른 H-Q특성, L-Q특성, 𝜂-Q특성 등의 관계와 무차원 성능 특성인 양정계수, 동력계수, 효율 등의 특성을 실험을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 회전수의 증가에 따라 펌프 성능의 변화정도를 추정할 수 있고, 펌프의 최대효율은 1450 rpm일 때 유량 0.165 ㎥/min, 양정 4.73 m에서 약 52%, 최대 회전수인 1750 rpm일 때 유량 0.183 ㎥/min, 양정 6.72 m에서 약 50%의 효율이 나타난다. 또한 양정 대 유량의 성능 특성 곡선상에서 등효율 곡선은 펌프의 상사법칙에 따른 원점을 지나는 2차식의 곡선으로 나타나지 않고 타원형으로 변형되어 나타난다. 마지막으로 유량계수가 증가함에 따라 동력계수는 증가하고 양정계수는 감소하며, 유량계수가 0.08일 때 최대효율 52% 되는 것을 통해 유량변화가 운전특성에 미치는 영향을 알 수 있다.

무인세일드론의 트윈커브세일 형상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shapes of Twin Curvy Sail for Unmanned Sail Drone)

  • 우리나라는 해상활동의 중요성이 크며, 산업화에 따른 이상기후 현상 등을 규명하기 위해 육상에 많은 자동기상 관측설비를 운영 중이지만 해상에서는 그 수가 매우 부족하다. 또한, 해양안전정보 구축 등을 위해 해양조사선을 운영 중이나 접근이 어려운 곳이 많고 높은 운영비용이 요구된다. 따라서 다양한 해양관측 등이 가능한 소형무인화선박의 개발이 필요하다. 한편 소형 무인화 선박에서 세일(Sail)은 항해 성능에 큰 영향을 미치므로 이에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 에어포일 형상보다 높은 공기역학적 성능을 갖는 것으로 알려진 트윈커브세일(Twin curvy sail)의 설계변수인 캠버(Camber)효과에 대해 검토하였다. 5 종류의 캠버에 대해 유동해석 결과, 캠버 크기가 9 %일 때 가장 높은 양력계수를 나타내었다. 트윈커브세일의 경우 Port sail과 Starboard sail의 상호작용에 의해 받음각 23°에서 가장 높은 양력계수를 갖고, Port sail의 경우 받음각 20°에서 가장 높은 양력계수를 Starboard sail의 경우 받음각 15°에서 가장 낮은 양력계수를 나타내었다. 또한, 트윈커브세일은 모든 받음각에서 에어포일 형상인 NACA 0018보다 높은 양력계수를 나타내었다.

한글판 Louisville Instrument for Transplantation 설문지의 신뢰도 및 타당도 평가 (Evaluation of Reliability and Validity of the Louisville Instrument for Transplantation (LIFT) in Korean Population)

  • Purpose: Composite tissue allotransplantation has emerged as a new therapeutic modality to reconstruct major tissue defects of the head, neck and extremities. A questionnaire-based instrument, the Louisville Instrument for Transplantation (LIFT), has been developed to objectively assess the risk-versus-benefit ratio for composite tissue allotransplantation procedures. The objective of this study is to assess if the LIFT is a useful, reliable and valid tool to apply to the Korean population. Methods: Seventy-three medical students and 60 lay public completed the LIFT questionnaire (translated to Korean) over the period from February 2010 to April 2010. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha. Test-retest reliability was analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient. Construct validity was assessed by comparing Pearson's correlation coefficients between perceived improvements in quality of life and responses to risk tolerance questions concerning organ transplants. Results: Measurements of the test-retest reliability showed that Pearson's correlation coefficients ranged from 0.241 to 0.902, and Cronbach's alphas ranged from 0.52 to 0.80 for medical students and from 0.63 to 0.83 for the lay public. Pearson's correlation coefficients showed significant correlations between perceived improvements in quality of life and responses to risk tolerance questions concerning organ transplants. Hand transplant showed a significant correlation in medical students. Foot, hand, two hands, larynx, partial face transplants showed significant correlations for the lay public. Conclusion: The applicability of the LIFT to the Korean population was found to be reliable and valid. The LIFT may serve as a useful tool for clinical application in the Korean population.

벽 근접 효과에 의한 물체의 항력 양력 변화 (EFFECT OF WALL PROXIMITY ON DRAG AND LIFT FORCES ON A CIRCULAR CYLINDER)

  • Near-wall effect on wakes behind particles is one of the important factors in precise tracking of particles in turbulent flows. However, most aerodynamic force models for particles did not fully consider the wall effect. In the present study, we focused on changes of hydrodynamic forces acting on a particle depending on wall proximity. To this end, we developed an immersed boundary method with multi-direct forcing incorporated to a fully implicit decoupling procedure for incompressible flows. We validate the present immersed boundary method through two-dimensional simulations of flow over a circular cylinder. Comprehensive parametric studies on the effect of the wall proximity on the drag and lift forces acting on an immersed circular cylinder in a channel flow are performed in order to investigate general flow patterns behind the circular cylinder for a wide range of Reynolds number (0.01 ${\leq}$ Re ${\leq}$ 200). As the cylinder is closer to the wall, the drag coefficient decreases while the lift coefficient increases with a local maximum. Maximum drag and lift coefficients for different wall proximities decrease with increment of Reynolds number. Normalized drag and lift coefficients by their maximum values show universal correlations between the coefficients and wall proximity in a low Reynolds number regime (Re ${\leq}$ 1).

  • The mechanical and thermal load. and thermal softening which is happened by the high temperature of die, in hot and warm forging, cause wear. heat checking and plastic deformation, etc. This study is for the effects of solid lubricants and surface treatments for warm forging die Because cooling effect and low friction are essential to the long lift of dies. optimal surface treatments and lubricants are very important to hot and warm forging Process. The heat that is generated by repeated forging processes. and its transfer are important factors to affect die life. The main factors, which affect die hardness and heat transfer, are surface treatments and lubricants, which are related to thermal diffusion coefficient and heat transfer coefficient, etc. For verifying these. experiments art performed for diffusion coefficient and heat transfer coefficient in various conditions - different initial billet temperatures and different loads. Carbonitriding and ionitriding are used as surface treatments. and oil- base and water-base graphite lubrirants are used. The effects of lubricant and surface treatment for warm forging die lift are explained by their thermal characteristics.

CFD study of an airfoil for small wind turbine applications

  • Small horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWTs) can be used to produce power in areas where the wind conditions are not favorable or optimal for large HAWTs. A newly designed airfoil for use in small HAWTs was analyzed in CFD to predict the aerodynamic performance at various Reynolds numbers over a various angles of attack. The coefficient of lift and drag, CL and CD, and the pressure distribution over the airfoil was obtained. It was found that the airfoil could achieve very good aerodynamic characteristics. The results of the numerical analysis will be compared against experimental data for validation purposes.

해양 구조물용 공조덕트 열유동에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis on the Thermal and Fluid in Air Conditioning Duct for Marine Offshore)

  • This study is about distributions of heat transfer in air conditioning duct used for marine and oil drilling ship. As the convective heat transfer coefficient increased, heat transfer was conducted dynamically to inside as it exited to the outlet of duct. So, it was checked that the amount of heat transfer generated at duct increased as the convective heat transfer coefficient increased. In case the convective heat transfer coefficient was low, the temperature of duct showed the relatively high temperature distribution due to the temperature influence of internal fluid as the heat transfer between the outside and inside of the duct. In case of temperature distribution generated the volume of the duct along the change of the convective heat transfer coefficient, it was found out that the temperature descended as heat transfer was promoted and the convective heat transfer coefficient increased.
