고령자의 라이프스타일이 인지저하에 미치는 융합적 요인 (The Study of the Convergent Factors of the Lifestyle on the Cognitive Decline among Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 한국고용정보원에서 실시한 제 6차 고령화연구패널조사를 이용하여 신체활동, 생활습관, 사회활동 참여로 구성된 고령자의 융합적 라이프스타일이 인지저하 위험도에 미치는 영향력을 탐색하고, 참여하는 사회활동 유형이 인지저하 위험도에 미치는 영향력을 파악하고자 실시하였다. 분석대상자로 65세 이상 노인 4,298명을 연구에 포함하였다. 연구 결과, 고령자의 라이프스타일 구성요소 모두 인지저하에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 특히 참여하는 사회활동수가 1단위 증가할수록 인지저하 위험도가 약 2배씩 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 사회활동 유형 중 종교활동, 표현적집단 활동, 연고집단 활동은 인지저하 위험도를 감소시키는 유의한 변수로 도출되었다. 따라서, 고령자의 융합적 라이프스타일 향상을 위한 지역사회 및 정책적 차원의 적극적인 지지와 실천적 방안이 필요하며, 지역 특수성을 고려하여 여가복지시설을 중심으로 사회활동의 양적 확충 및 질적 향상의 필요성을 시사한다.

녹색생활관련 인지정도가 녹색소비행동에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Effect of Cognition Degree of Green Life on Green Consumer Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine green consumer behavior (green product purchasing behavior and green consumption life) affected by demographical characteristics, and cognition degree of green life (cognition of a green indicator, a green life catalyst system, and environmental problems). It's also to promote strategy and suggest effective activation plans for the vitalization of green consumer behavior. To carry out the task, verification of credibility, multiple regression analysis, two-step cluster analysis, and multinomial logistic analysis were used. The results are as follows: First, the factors that effect green product purchasing behavior were gender, age, cognitive of a green indicator, carbon points system, electricity peak hour system, and seriousness of environmental damage due to lifestyle. Second, the factors that effect green lifestyle were gender, age, carbon grade indicator system, cognition of a green system, and the seriousness of environmental damage due to lifestyle. Third, the comparative group characteristic analysis showed low rates for careless green consumer behavior groups compared to the passive green consumer behavior groups in cognition of a green indicator, green system, and environmental problems. For active green consumer behavior groups, the analysis showed high rates in cognition of carbon grades, eco-labeling, electricity peak hour system, and environmental damage due to lifestyle. In order to encourage green consumer behavior, it's evident that cognition of a green indicator, a green life catalyst system, and environmental problems need to be improved through strategic education and continuous encouragement.

소비자의 라이프스타일 및 미디어 이용과 N스크린 서비스 수용 간의 관계 (The Relationships among Consumer Lifestyle, Media Usage, and Adoption of Nscreen Service)

  • 기존 미디어 서비스의 속성을 복합적으로 보유하면서도 서로 다른 단말기의 상호작용을 통해 새로운 가치를 제공하는 N스크린은 미디어와 콘텐츠, 그리고 소비자 간의 관계를 재구성하고 있다. 본 연구는 정보통신정책연구원의 2012년 한국미디어패널조사 통계조사에서 수집된 8,524명의 미디어 행태 자료 중 N스크린 이용을 중심으로 하여 서비스의 수용과 관련된 소비자 변수들과의 관계를 검증해 보고자 한다. 우선 N스크린 서비스 이용자와 비이용자 간에 인구통계변수, 미디어 이용 행태 중의 하나로서 온라인활동 참여, 라이프스타일 관련 활동 정도 및 제품구매성향, 기존 미디어 레퍼토리, 유료 콘텐츠 소비지출 등의 측면에서 차이가 나는지 각각 살펴보고 서비스 수용에 대한 다양한 변수들의 영향력을 종합적으로 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 소비자의 디지털 라이프스타일의 일부가 되고 있으며 미디어와 콘텐츠 소비 패턴의 변화를 주도할 것으로 예상되는 N스크린 서비스의 중요성에 주목하고, 서비스 수용과 관련이 있는 소비자들의 인구 통계학적, 사회심리학적 변수들과 미디어 행동 변수들을 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

건강증진병원에서 실시된 당뇨병 및 심혈관질환 위험군 대상 생활습관개선 프로그램의 질병예방 효과 (Effectiveness of lifestyle interventions to prevent diabetes and cardiovascular diseases in a health promoting hospital)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to expand evidence-base for the effectiveness of lifestyle intervention programs to prevent the onset of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Methods: Seven intervention studies between 2006 and 2014 at Korea Association of Health Promotion were analyzed. All the studies were randomized controlled trials(RCTs) and included multi-component behavioral interventions. The participants of the programs were 2,172 adults with risk factors regarding metabolic syndrome criteria. The proportions of normalized participants were compared within and across the studies using odds ratio effect sizes. Results: The reductions in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome were from 49.6% to 65.1% in intervention groups, and from 38.7% to 52.3% in comparison groups. Significant differences in effectiveness between groups were found in two studies, one in 2006 with odds ratio of 1.69(p<0.01) and another in 2009 with odds ratio of 2.36(p<0.001). Proportions of normalized participants were higher in blood pressure(31.9% to 52.5% in the intervention groups and 23.0% to 43.3% in comparison groups) than other risk factors. Abdominal obesity showed weakest improvement after the intervention in both groups. Conclusions: Lifestyle modification program is an effective method to reduce diabetes and cardiovascular risks in adults by decreasing the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components.

식품관련 라이프 스타일에 따른 소비자유형별 특성과 기후친화적 식품소비행동 분석 (A Study of Consumer Characteristics and Climate-friendly Food Consumption Behavior Classified by Food-Related Lifestyle)

  • Individual lifestyle and eating habits have changed rapidly due to the evolution of society. Especially, climate change caused by industrialization has influenced society, with the result that today's consumers perceive sustainability to be an important value. The purposes of this study were to segment consumers on the basis of their food-related lifestyle and to explore climate-friendly food consumption behavior by considering factors such as moral intensity, propensity for disgust with meat as well as consumer characteristics. The results of this study were as follows: first, consumers were segmented into three groups(high involvement, low involvement, convenience oriented). Consumers in the high involvement group presented a higher level of moral intensity and climate-friendly food consumption behavior than the other groups. Furthermore, factors influencing the selection of climate-friendly food were found to differ according to the type of consumer. Consumers in the high involvement group were found to be significantly influenced by age, concentration of effect, the morality of eating meat and meat texture, while consumers in the low involvement were found to be significantly influenced by social consensus and the morality of eating meat. Finally, consumers in the convenience oriented group for food life were found to be significantly influenced by age, harm perception, and the morality of eating meat.

중국 연변 지역 대학생의 성별과 민족, 거주형태에 따른 건강관련 생활습관 및 식생활 비교 (Comparisons of Health Related Lifestyle and Dietary Behaviors according to Gender, Ethnicity and Residence Type of University Students in Yanbian, China)

  • This study aimed to examine the health-related lifestyle habits and eating behaviors according to gender, ethnicity, and residence type of university students in Yanbian, China. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from 302 university students. Of the male students, 12.1% and 42.0% were in the underweight and overweight groups, respectively, and of the female subjects, 21.3% and 16.3%, were in those respective groups. More male than female students preferred the overweight body somatotype. In contrast, about 49.4% of female students were hoping to be underweight, and female students had more obvious difficulties with body somatotype perception, whereas their exercise frequency and time spent exercising per day were much less than those of male students. More Chinese than Korean-Chinese subjects exhibited regular eating habits, which included eating at the same time everyday and at the same frequency per day; these habits were, accompanied by generally healthier lifestyle habits regarding regularity of activity and exercise time. Self-boarding students had a significantly higher BMI ($23.7{\pm}5.1kg/m^2$) and were more likely to be overweight (43.5%) as compared to students who lived in a dormitory or with family. Salty taste was preferred by Chinese students more than Korean-Chinese students, and greasy taste was preferred by Korean-Chinese students as compared with Chinese students. This study found that inherent and environmental factors are related with the dietary behaviors of university students in Yanbian, China. Further studies are required to elucidate the structural elements of family life and the sociocultural factors associated with dietary behaviors in Yanbian.

Lifestyle and Sporadic Colorectal Cancer in India

  • Background: The study evaluated the patient, lifestyle and tumor profile in patients undergoing upfront surgery for sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC) in Indian population. Materials and Methods: One hundred consecutive patients were included. Details related to their demographic profile, habits, signs and symptoms, tumor profile, further treatment and follow up were recorded. Results: The majority of the patients had colonic cancer (68%), advanced tumor stage 3 & 4 (46%), moderately differentiated tumors (70%) with absence of lymphatic invasion (60%) and metastasis (90%). Correlations between tumor location and abdominal pain (p-value 0.002), bleeding per rectum (p-value <0.001), difficulty in micturition (p-value 0.012) and constipation (p-value 0.007) were found to be statistically significant. Abdominal pain was more frequently reported in patients with metastasis (p-value 0.031). Loss of weight statistically correlated with absence of lymphatic invasion (p-value 0.047). Associations between tumor stage and alcohol intake (p-value 0.050) and non vegetarian diet (p-value 0.006); lymphatic invasion and intake of spicy food (p-value 0.040) and non vegetarian diet (p-value 0.001) and metastasis and alcohol intake (p-value 0.041) were also observed. Age and tumor grade were also correlated (p-value 0.020). Conclusions: Minimizing the adverse lifestyle factors can help in reducing the overall incidence of CRC in the Indian population.

  • 본 연구는 포천 이동갈비바비큐축제에 방문한 방문객을 대상으로 식생활 라이프스타일 유형에 따라서 포천 이동갈비바비큐축제를 선택할 때 집단별 추구하는 선택속성의 차이점과 고객반응에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 라이프스타일에 따라 분류된 군집들의 인구통계학적 특성에 따라 교차분석을 실시하였고, 군집별로 포천 이동갈비바비큐축제 차이분석과 고객반응에 미치는 영향관계를 파악하였다. 연구결과, 축제를 주최자들은 향후 축제를 기획할 때는 가족이 함께 다양한 지역적인 전통문화체험과 함께 휴식을 취할 수 있는 프로그램이 필요하며, 현재 영업하고 있는 축제장의 음식점은 가격이 비싼 바비큐 음식보다는 가족이 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 적당한 가격의 바비큐메뉴를 개발해야 할 것이다. 축제 선택속성에 따른 고객반응에서는 청결은 기각되었다. 자연경간이 뛰어난 포천 이동갈비바베큐축제의 특성을 고려해볼 때 청결은 의미가 없는 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 타 지역의 축제와는 성격을 달리하는 자연과 함께 하는 체험프로그램을 개발해야할 것이다.

건강검진 수진 노인의 대사증후군 유병상태 및 관련 요인 (Prevalence and Related Factors of Metabolic Syndrome among Korean Older Adults)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify prevalence and related factors of the elderly, who took health examination, with metabolic syndrome. Methods: The health examination and lifestyle survey were performed for 21,512 adults at 60 years of age or older who took health examination in H health promotion center during January-March 2009. Results: The prevalence of metabolic syndrome for the subject was 24.0%. Of the subject with metabolic syndrome, the prevalence of the diseases was obesity 60%, abdominal obesity 78.5%, hypertension 82.6%, dyslipidemia 89.7% and diabetes 51.9%. In comparison of the relationship between metabolic syndrome and other diseases, the male subject with metabolic syndrome were significantly higher in BMI, waist circumference, systolic/diastolic blood pressure, hemoglobin, AST, ALT, $\gamma$-GTP, TG, AC glucose, creatinine than normal male(p<0.001). In comparison of the relationship between metabolic syndrome and lifestyle, more drinking frequency and amount in male and more drinking frequency in female were associated with increased risk of metabolic syndrome(p<0.01). Regardless of exercise intensity, practice of exercise contributed to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome(p<0.01). Conclusion: In conclusion, TLC program, focused on lifestyle behaviors which is strongly associated with the prevalence of metabolic syndrome, should be developed for the improvement of life quality in the elderly with metabolic syndrome.

Identifying psychological predictors of adherence to a community-based lifestyle modification program for weight loss among Chinese overweight and obese adults

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Existing evidence on lifestyle modification programs for weight loss is limited by the high attrition rate of such programs. Identifying predictors of adherence to a lifestyle modification program could result in program improvement. However, little is known about behavior-specific adherence and its psychological predictors. This study aimed to examine the psychological predictors of adherence after one-month participation in a community-based lifestyle modification program among Chinese overweight and obese adults in Hong Kong. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A total of 205 Chinese overweight and obese adults aged $38.9{\pm}10.5years$ completed the study. Data were collected at baseline and after one month using self-reported questionnaires, which assessed knowledge (self-developed scale), motivation (Treatment Self-Regulation Questionnaire), stage of change (Stage of Exercise Scale) and self-efficacy (Self-Rated Abilities for Health Practices Scale). At one month, a 4-day dietary recall and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form were used to assess dietary and physical activity (PA) adherence. Food and PA diaries were examined to indicate self-monitoring. Program attendance was tracked between baseline and one-month follow-up. RESULTS: After one month, participants reported high dietary adherence, attendance, and adherence to self-monitoring but low PA adherence. Multiple regression analyses suggested that diet self-efficacy (baseline) and nutrition knowledge (one-month change) were independent predictors of dietary adherence score at one month, whereas autonomous PA motivation (baseline) and PA self-efficacy (both baseline and one-month change) were independent predictors of PA adherence score at one month. No significant psychological predictor was identified for attendance or self-monitoring. CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that the effect of psychological factors on adherence differs between diet and PA adherence outcomes. To promote adherence, practitioners should assess self-efficacy, knowledge, and motivation at the beginning of a weight-loss program and explore behavior-specific strategies to improve knowledge and self-efficacy. The results of this study have direct implications for program improvements.
