Methods: Of all participants in the 8th KNHANES (2019-2020), adults aged 19 years or older who responded 'yes' to the diagnosis of cancer and 404 cancer survivors who responded 'none' to the current cancer prevalence item were selected as the final research participants. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to confirm the effect of cancer survivors' oral and mental health on health-related quality of life. Results: Subjective oral health (p<0.01), chewing problems (p<0.05), subjective health (p<0.001), and depression (p<0.01) had an effect on health-related quality of life from multiple regression analyses. Conclusions: Therefore, oral and mental health promotion may improve health-related quality of life. Thus, it is necessary to recognize the importance of oral and mental health and implement preventive education and programs.

  • Objectives: To provide basic data for oral health policy by identifying the differences in oral health behaviors and conditions among middle-aged people in their 40s and 50s and relating these to their health-related quality of life, and to identify factors affecting health-related quality of life. Methods: In this study, secondary data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were used. Data were gathered from 8,127 participants, of which 2,353 were middle-aged (40-59 years old). Covariance analysis was performed using a complex sample general linear model to investigate the changes in the subjects' health-related quality of life (EQ-5D) according to their general characteristics, oral health behaviors, and oral health status. Results: Oral health behavior was not significantly related to health-related quality of life. In contrast, a higher oral health status (chewing function) was associated with better health-related quality of life. Conclusions: In conclusion, this study suggested a close relationship between oral health status (chewing function) and health-related quality of life. Therefore, it is necessary to recognize the importance of oral health in improving the health-related quality of life of middle-aged people in their 40s and 50s, as well as in informing oral health policies and preventive measures for individuals and communities.

Method: The subjects of this study were 195 hypertensive male workers in Korea. The data was collected during 3 months ranging from August 2003 to October 2003. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics. t-test, ANOVA. Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression by SAS 8.1 program. Results: It was found that there were significant differences between age, religion, medication, perceived health status, perceived benefits, internal health locus of control, powerful other health locus of control and health promoting life style practice. The most significant factor affecting the health promoting life style practice was internal health locus of control. The combination of internal health locus of control, specific self-efficacy, powerful other health locus of control, general self-efficacy accounted for 51.0% of the health promoting life style practice. Conclusion: The level of health promoting life style practice was very low, so it is urgent to manage and care for hypertensive male workers continuously and systemically with occupational health nurses. Based on the above results, cognitive perceptual characteristics should be considered when developing health education programs for hypertensive workers.

Methods: The sample consisted of 246 people 65 years or older. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, average standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$, Pearson Correlation Analysis and Hierarchical Multiple Regression. Results: The control variables such as gender, presence of a spouse, subjective health status, presence of chronic disease and existing number of teeth explained 14% (F=7.76, p<.001) of variance in oral health related-quality of life. The control variables, eating habits, activities of daily living and health behaviors collectively explained 20% of variance in oral health related quality of life. Data were collected from an industry of 1,495 workers at city of Chang Won in Korea. 1. The young age group especially the group who had short work duraion less than two years had high THI scores which were statistically significant. 2. A worker who followed 6∼7 good life style scores were found to be associated with better health status than those who followed 0-3 bad life style scores in most of all dimensions of physical and mental health scales of THI. 3. According to the multiple regression analysis, the variable of life style scores had the greatest influence on physical and mental health status of industrial workers.
