  • In this paper, we present a speech-based Environmental Control System(ECS) and its application. In the concrete, an ECS using the speech recognition and an portable wheelchair lift control system with the speech synthesis are developed through the simulation and the embodiment. The developed system apply to quadriplegic man and we evaluate the result of physical effect and of mental effect. Speech recognition system is constructed by real time modules using HMM model. For the clinical application of the device, we investigate the result applied to 54-years old quadriplegic man during a week through the questionnaires of Beck Depression Inventory and of Activity Pattern Indicator. Also the motor drive control system of potable wheelchair lift is implemented and the mechanical durability is tested by structural analysis. Speech recognition rate results in over 95% through the experiment. The result of the questionnaires shows higher satisfaction and lower nursing loads. In addition, the depression tendency of the subject were decreased. The potable wheelchair lift shows good fatigue life-cycle as the material supporting the upper wheelchair and shows the centroid mobility of safety. In this paper we present an example of ECS which consists of real-time speech recognition system and potable wheelchair lift. Also the experiments shows needs of the ECS for korean environments. This study will be the base of a commercial use.

  • Given both structural safety and economic benefits of aging facilities, remodelling of the existing facilities is preferable to reconstruction. This recognition provides an opportunity to reduce the commitment of resources and national budget. However, when a subordinate troop asks for remodeling or reconstruction of a deteriorated facility, it is difficult to ensure the consistency and objectivity in the process of decision making for the alternatives due to the absence of systematic and quantitative rating methodology. Their economic evaluation methodology only exists in a manual format. Thus, further research is required for converting the methodology into an automated system in view of practicality such as rapid and accurate data processing. The contributions of this study are as follows: 1) Literature review found out a representative economic evaluation model focused on military facilities, and comparative analysis with a similar study identified the strength and weakness. 2) this study presented how to convert the theoretical framework which enables to solve a specific subject matter into an automated system. 3) it developed a user friendly interfaces which consist of four functional modules by considering the usability and accessibility of the system user. 4) the developed system was verified by a case study in terms of four kinds of performance indicators.

  • The public employers are faced the mounting importance of decision process to settle the optimum VE delivery system of such public facilities buildings and etc. The elements of decision process of the public employer are formed in the various relationships of the concerned and when the projects are coming into effect, the decision process in the VE delivery method and the selection of contractor will be the name of the game. The decision process in the VE delivery method and the selection of contractor are created a case to be one and the same as well as initiates a consistency for the performance. However, the function and role of the public employer are projective accordingly to the organization of employer and the employer especially no system is equal to the capability of perfect evaluation and verification of the ability of the employer. Especially the lowest bidder policy that started with justification to increase the competitiveness and technical capability of the contractors through the completion in between contractors has been providing the hotbed for insolvency, irregularity and irrationality as a result. From this point of view it is declared that the buildup the edifice of supporting system in the process of decision to recover the mutual trust and respect of the concerned in the VE delivery system with the technostress and the systematization based on drawing the elements which affect the decision process of public employer.

  • Facility Management is the longest in the building of life cycle. Because it occupies more than 80% of cost, the phase of Facility Management has to be managed and has to be perceived as important as design and construction phase. The method to manage building more efficiently is the introduction of Facility Management System used by CAD and database. But information Requirement is now input by hand in the most Facility Management System. This study aims to analyze the example of applying BIM in the Korea or abroad and the errors of this were deducted by many phase. Lastly, the possible solution is suggested in order to be used in the Facility Management System. This study's benchmarking is COBIE which is developed by the COE(Corps of Engineers) and now popular in the world. The suggestion in this study is the method that I have already mentioned is helpful for a designer to do modeling when a designer uses BIM S/W(software). To be more specific, the method plays a side role in helping data input considering the phase of Facility Management.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop a system for the measurement and simulation of the TMJ movement and to analyze the mandibular movement quantitatively. Materials and Methods : We devised patient-specific splints and a registration body for the TMJ movement tracking. The mandibular movements of the 12 subjects with facial deformity and 3 controls were obtained by using an optical tracking system and the patient-specific splints. The mandibular part was manually segmented from the CT volume data of a patient. Three-dimensional surface models of the maxilla and the mandible were constructed using the segmented data. The continuous movement of the mandible with respect to the maxilla could be simulated by applying the recorded positions sequentially. Trajectories of the selected reference points were calculated during simulation and analyzed. Results : The selected points were the most superior point of bilateral condyle, lower incisor point, and pogonion. There were significant differences (P<0.05) between control group and pre-surgical group in the maximum displacement of left superior condyle, lower incisor, and pogonion in vertical direction. Differences in the maximum lengths of the right and the left condyle were 0.59${\pm}$0.30 mm in pre-surgical group and 2.69${\pm}$2.63 mm in control group, which showed a significant difference (P<0.005). The maximum of differences between lengths of the right and the left calculated during one cycle also showed a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion : Significant differences in mandibular movements between the groups implies that facial deformity have an effect on the movement asymmetry of the mandible. • Railway bridges with continuously welded rail have a limitation of span length due to track-bridge interaction. In order to overcome this, a sliding slab track system has been developed that comprises with a low-frictional sliding layer between the bridge deck and the track slab to isolate the longitudinal behavior between the bridge and the track. In this study, a real scale track system is prepared to experimentally evaluate the longitudinal frictional behavior. Applied loading rates were 0.2, 1.0, 5.0 and 10mm/min; vertical mass on the track are track slab only, 5,000 and 10,000kg added mass, respectively. Test results showed that the resulting frictional coefficients varied from 0.22 to 0.33. In addition, 10,000 cycle loadings were applied to simulate repetitive sliding to represent 30 years of service life. The frictional coefficient increase was measured and found to be 7% of that of the initial loading stage, which means that the sliding layer is adequate to provide low-frictional behavior for the sliding slab track system. Effects of changes of the frictional coefficient of the sliding layer were analyzed by rail-structure interaction analysis.

  • Mobile phone-related industries have been mainly concentrated on attracting the new customers and increasing the market share such as for the aggressive marketing activities, but it is the time to find an effective strategy to preserve existing customers since the mobile phone market had already reached the saturation. In this study, the properties of mobile phone that influence on the choice of handset and telecom company were analyzed. General properties of respondents were explored and the mobile phone properties were grouped by common factors. And analyzed the effect of factors on customer satisfaction with structural equation model. 10.4% of respondents are used their handset more than two years and 48.7% wanted to purchase other manufacturer's handset if they repurchase mobile phone. These results might come form the fact that the life cycle of mobile phone become shorter by the heating competition in mobile phone market and, to some degree, the influence of smart phone which recently become globally popular. Four factors, 'Hardware Quality', 'Practicality', 'Convergence Functions' and 'Level of Awareness', are induced from the mobile phone properties. In Structural Equation Model analysis, 'Hardware Quality' and 'Practicality' have significant and positive effects on Customer Satisfaction. But, 'Awareness' such as brand and trend appeared quite less influence on the customer satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the implications of the integrated support through the 'health - medical - welfare' network and the specific context of the operation through the experiences of the users who participated in the 301 network project of Seoul northern municipal hospital. To do this, In-depth interviews were carried out with 10 research participants. The data was analyzed by general qualitative research methods. As a result of analysis, users lost their willingness because of living in a vicious cycle of poverty and illness before participating in 301 network services, but through the participation of the service, they were able to receive the integrated support of 'cure-care-life stability'. These experiences ultimately led to the regeneration of the will of their lives. At the basis of this experience were operating strategies and conditions such as the formation of a diverse professional team, the establishment of a linkage system within and outside the hospital, the establishment of a treatment linkage system through the acquisition of treatment subsidies, and the linkage of resources at mediation level. As the attempt to integrate 'health, medical and welfare' with well-coordinated strategies and conditions showed the possibility of complementing the limitation of the health welfare support system in Korea, the extension of the related business was suggested. For this, it suggested the more stable stabilization of the linkage system and the improvement of the institutional aspect.
