The paper aims to present a comparative analysis of scholarly research output in the fields of Library and Information Science (LIS) in India and South Korea. The Web of Science database was used to retrieve the bibliographic data of the Indian and South Korean LIS published documents during 2001-2020 and the indicators were included in the analysis: research productivity, publication-quality, most prolific authors, institutions and journals, "Annual Growth Rate (AGR)", "Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR)", "Relative Growth Rate (RGR)", and "Doubling Time (DT)". All types of documents such as articles, conference papers, book reviews, corrections, editorial materials, so on were included in the study. MS Excel, VOS viewer, and bibliometrix (R-tool) software were used for tabulation and mapping. The results show that South Korea placed the top in the overall output of LIS research publications during the last two decades. The Indian LIS research output, Annual Growth Rate (AGR), and Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) were good compared to South Korean LIS publications. In addition, the South Korean LIS researchers' output has increased rapidly in terms of publications, citations, average citations. Gangan Prathap (India), Seyoung Lee, and Heejin Lee (SK) are the most prolific authors; Indian Institute Technology, Delhi and Yonsei University, Seoul are the most prolific institutions; and the Scientometrics journal was the most preferred journal by the Indian and South Korean LIS researchers during the study period. The results of this study are useful to administrators, policymakers, and academics. In addition, the scope of this study might include looking at research published by LIS scholars in India and South Korea, as well as examining all types of academic publications.

The recent situation on developments in an expanding field of reference and information service is reviewed through the cooperative arrangements and comprehensive planning among libraries in America. The growth of reference cooperation is examined first along with the social forces that influenced the library interdependence for service. Of the various interlibrary programs identified in relation to the cooperative reference work, interlibrary loan is viewed as the key to the use of library resources based on equal access and making use of the tools for information and research, therefore a reference principle. Several kinds of library systems specifically intended to improve the reference situation are identified and described in detail without any attempt to evaluate their performance in terms of unit size, cost, or quality of the service.

본 연구는 문헌정보학 현장인 도서관에서 제공되는 서비스인 이용자 교육의 관련 개념인 리터러시가 각종 문헌정보학 연구 분야에서 어떠한 연구 주제를 다루는지 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 WoS와 KCI 데이터베이스에서 문헌정보학 분야 리터러시 관련 논문을 수집하여 키워드 분석 및 토픽 모델링 분석 기법을 상호보완적으로 사용해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, WoS와 KCI의 문헌정보학 분야 리티러시 관련 연구 동향은 저자 키워드, 주요 주제 등에서 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 토픽 모델링을 통해 KCI의 리터러시 관련 연구를 3개의 토픽으로 분류하였다. 또한, 연구에서 확인한 국내 문헌정보학 분야 리터러시 연구 동향은 전체 리터러시 관련 연구 동향과 연구량 급증 시기, 핵심 다빈출 키워드 차이가 있음을 분석하였다. 특히, 전체 분야 리터러시 연구는 '리터러시', '교육', '미디어', '디지털' 등의 단어가 다수 도출되었지만 문헌정보학 분야의 리터러시 연구는 '정보활용능력', '학교도서관' 등의 키워드가 다수 등장하였다. 이를 바탕으로 향후 국내에서도 정보가 급증하는 오늘날의 정보화 환경에 맞춰 정보에 대한 평가적인 안목을 기를 수 있는 능력에 관한 연구가 필요하다는 결론을 도출하였다.

디지털 자원의 네트워크 이용이 증가하는 정보사회에서 전문도서관 및 정보센터는 연구정보의 전문유통채널로서 새로운 기능과 역할로 확장되고 있다. 본고는 우리나라 전문도서관 및 정보센터의 발전 및 협력현황을 살펴보고, 개념, 범주, 법규, 도서관정책 등의 문제를 검토하였다. 이어 전문도서관 및 정보센터 활동에서 개선되어야 할 점을, 첫째, 전문도서관 및 정보센터 개념의 재정의, 둘째, 범국가적 지식정보 조정기구 설치, 셋째, 민간부문 전문도서관 및 정보센터 활동지원의 제도화, 넷째, 연구정보의 효율적 유통을 위한 선결과제 등으로 정리하였다.

This study reports on early adolescents' health information seeking behaviors that investigated cognitive, affective, and physical aspects of behaviors as they experienced to find information on their needs of health information seeking. In spite of the current widespread internet health information use by adolescents, little research exists to illuminate how they are engaged in cognitive, affective, and physical information behaviors in information search process. Qualitative data were collected through individual interviews informed by Kuhlthau's information search process. Forty adolescents from S city in South Korea participated in the project. Findings report thoughts, feelings, and actions aspects of information search process. This study expects to extend our knowledge of the adolescents' health information seeking behaviors of Kuhlthau's information search process.

국립중앙도서관의 국립디지털도서관 설립이 추진되면서 디지털도서관의 성공적인 운영을 위한 정책수립에 대한 관심과 기대가 고조되고 있다. 그동안 국내의 경우 도서관정책과 관련된 연구나 지원은 매우 한정적이었으나 앞으로 급변하는 정보환경에서 발전해가야 하는 디지털도서관 환경과 문제점을 고려할 때 체계화되고 구체화된 정보서비스정책의 수립은 선행되고 지속적으로 발전되어야 할 과제라고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 디지털도서관 정책수립과 관련된 문헌조사와 해외 사례조사를 통하여 앞으로 국립디지털도서관을 비롯한 디지털도서관 정보서비스정책 수립을 위한 핵심요인과 과제를 추출함으로써 디지털도서관 정보서비스정책수립의 새로운 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

The history of recording and conserving for maintenance the human's memory from ancient times to modern's has brought about a lot of changing process of the recorded information media with developing in culture, and each society has made important recorded materials in his library as essentially the social apparatus. But most of them that were damaged by factors of the natural disaster, humidity, temperature, light, fungi and insects in the library, and were resulted in deterioration and losing the numerous materials. For removing the inevitable phases repeated, there are studying for counterplan of the fundamental environment factors about preservation, restoration and chemical research of materials in advanced countries, but I get a few researches about protecting the cultural properties. Therefore I research the survey of the actual conditions on 72 university libraries centering around them, and then I have researched the collection rate 81 percent, 58 university libraries. (local : 35, in seoul : 23) As the result of this research, I propose the model of the environment factors of conserving the library materials. 1) To apply the equipment of processing the radiant energy to the new construction and buildings. 2) To remove factors that occur fungi and insects by facilities being controlled relative humility, temperature, and to equip the ventilation arrangement in the library. 3) To shelve all acquired and bound materials after proceeding the vacuum fumigator. 4) Those who want to enter into the library stack were surely taken in sterilzing their hands and shoes, and must put on the gown. 5) To use the vacuum dusting thing (machine) for removing the dust without spreading out the floor of the library at any time. 6) To set up the gas automatic fire extinguisher worked by smoke sensor. 7) To assist the research into the preservation, natures and environment of recorded materials, and to supply financial funds for librarian. 8) To hold regularly the workshop be able to educate the methods of preservation materials by the constant system. (Library Association) 9) To add to responsibilities on certification of preservation materials for librarian. 10) To hold the constant committee system in each library. 11) To keep up with the ideal environment (humidity, temperature, light, ventilation, etc.) of preservation materials in the arrangement room, and to put on the gown.

이 연구에서는 학교도서관이 교육과정과 연계한 정보문해 서비스를 제공하기 위한 장애요인과 해결 방안을 탐색해 보았다. 장애요인으로는 정보문해를 ICT 활용능력으로 잘못 이해하고 있다는 점, 그리고 장서, 도서관 전담인력 등의 미비 등을 들었다. 정보문해에서 문헌정보의 중요성, 온라인을 이용한 도서관 이용지도, 정보문해 수업을 위한 Big6 문제해결 모형 및 교수-학습 과정안, 수업의 실천과정에서 필요한 서식 등을 제시하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 의사들이 환자 치료와 학술적인 연구를 하기 위해 요구하는 정보를 효율적으로 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 2007년 12월 3일부터 12월 21일까지 3주 동안 의사 177명을 대상으로 조사하였으며 이용자들의 정보요구와 이용행위로 정보수집방법과 정보원, 그리고 도서관 이용정도와 만족도를 평가하였다. 의사들은 최근의 연구동향을 알고자 할 때와 환자 치료를 위해 정보를 가장 많이 필요로 하는 것으로 나타났다. 의사들이 그들의 정보요구를 충족시키기 위해 선호하는 정보수집방법은 인터넷 검색으로 그 이유는 정보접근의 편이성과 정확성, 최신성인 것으로 나타났다. 의사들은 정보가 필요할 때 주로 도서관을 이용하여 필요한 정보를 얻는 경향이 있으나 대체적으로 보아 도서관 이용빈도수는 매우 적은 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is put emphasis on the importance of the library statistics. e. g., more than ten related current library statistics were inaccurated each other, so whole of statistic figures is not to be trusted. This research is make an attempt to more accurate information about library situations. Especially, with special reference to basic library statistics in the [Bulletin of National & College University libraries](Vol. 1-14, 1983-96, published by Council on National College & University Libraries), take the 24 major factors to compare and evaluate with 46 national and public university libraries. Analyzing 24 factors including 5 subjects. These subjects are as follows: 1) Total numbers of staffs with faculty members and students enrollment 2) Whole library collection of monographs and serial and publishcations. 3) Annual university budgets and library material expenditures. 4) Library facilities and building square measure. 5) Library service situation with circulation, inter-library loan/borrow and monograph D/B build up.
