This study describes the concept of link resolvers using OpenURL. Then, the study analyzed the commercially available link resolvers in terms of remote & local hosting, title list, customization of the services and usage statistics. The results will help the libraries select the appropriate link resolvers that are relevant to the features of the libraries.

While the amount of information exchanged through internet has dramatically increased recently, certain inefficiencies still exist with regard to the storage, distribution, and retrieval of information. As a means of improving efficiency in accessing information, many search portals provide directory services to present organized guidance to information, based on the classification schemes. This study examines the classification activities practiced by the major search portals in Korea and makes some suggestions to improve the quality of directory services.

The two main purposes of this paper are to 1) investigate critical components of university information systems for information resources management, 2) develop a comprehensive framework model of university information systems for e-Business Era. Through a literature review and by employing group decision making techniques with managers of K University, critical components for developing university information systems were identified. The critical components of university information systems are 1) academic affaires. 2) general administration. (3) research administration. (4) information services. (5) management support, (6) cyber education. (7) knowledge management, (8) e-library. (9) mobile service. and (10) IT infrastructures. In the second stage. by employing IT experts in K University and other institutes. a comprehensive framework of university information systems for e-Business era was developed. The comprehensive framework shows that major components for university information resources management are (1) information infrastructure. (2) common operating environments. (3) applications/information services. The results of this study expect to help managers. who are in charge of university information systems. plan to develop information systems based on the framework proposed in this paper.

Presidential records are produced and collected with regard to Presidents' performance of his duties. Presidential libraries provide the users with open reading, exhibition, education, and promotion services. To maximize utilization of Presidential records as knowledge and information contents, it is most important to build educational programs as active services available. In this context, this study conducts investigation of the current status of education programs of Korea and US Presidential libraries. And this study also examines and analyzes distinguishing programs of 13 Presidential libraries in the US in order to bring up necessity for active educational programs and suggest various possible education programs. The findings of this study can be utilized as the basic reference materials to use in the process of building and pursuing plans for educational programs of Presidential libraries or individual record centers.

현재 인터넷 상에는 많은 정보자원이 존재하고 있다. 이처럼 많은 정보자원 중 학술적인 가치가 있는 정보에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 요구를 바탕으로 웹학술정보에 대한 메타데이터 데이터베이스를 구축함으로써 웹정보에 대한 정확한 정보를 알고 웹상의 정보자원을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있다. 본 논문은 현재 진행하고 있는 IFL(Internet faculty Library, http://www.ifl.or.kr)을 사례로 웹학술정보의 메타데이터 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 데이터베이스 및 인터페이스의 설계 및 모델링하는 과정을 제시하도록 하겠다.

이용자의 정보요구 변화와 이용자 중심의 서비스로 전환 그리고 도서관의 심화된 경쟁 등의 도서관을 둘러싼 환경의 변화는 이용자 기대의 변화와 도서관 경영이 변화를 가져왔다. 따라서 이용자에 대한 관심의 증가와 그들의 요구를 파악하기 위한 노력이 도서관 경영에 필요하게 되었으며, 도서관 품질 평가에 있어 수치적인 측면에서 탈피하여 고객 중심의 품질 평가로의 전환이 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구는 서비스 품질 측정에 관한 다수 이론들과 모형을 정리하여 도서관 서비스 품질을 측정하는 새로운 도구를 제시해 보고자 한다.

Trusted operating systems (OS) provide the basic security mechanisms and services that allow a computer system to protect, distinguish, and separate classified data. This paper proposes a new concept of operating system security enhancement system which uses loadabel security kernel module (LSKM) or dynamic link library(DLL) and specific conditions for operational environment should be assumed.

Java crypto library such as SUN JCA/JCE or BC JCE is generally used to implement secure applications for smart devices using Android platform. Programming functions written by Java language are launched and executed inside Java Virtual Machine (JVM), thereby difficult to use system hardware specific functionalities and degrading performance as well. In case of crypto primitive, few secure applications can use crypto primitive executing in JVM because both amount of computing and complexity of such primitives are very high. From the aspect of performance, in particular, time sensitive real time applications such as streaming services or secure application frequently applying public key based crypto algorithm cannot use Java crypto library. To solve the problem, we design and implement crypto library which employ JNI and NDK methods to directly access functions that implemented by native language such as C or C++. The proposed Java Crypto provider supports faster execution. Also developer can use our provider in the same way by writing traditional Java crypto library.
