The development of library cultural programs provides educational information which can only be produced from library. It helps user's to recognize the value of library, and aims at expanding the usage of library information. This paper indicates "children puppet performance" is possible ways to find library identity in providing cultural programs, and suggests guidelines for managing the programs and supporting users.The program management section is divided into several aspects; user service, development of book collection, information service, and advertisement. In terms of user services, the paper suggests watching performances, exhibition projects, creation of related societies, puppet workshop training, and developing library cultural programs. In the development of library collections, the paper indicates usage of library resources, the effects of expanding book collection, education on information usage. In cooperating section, this paper will see the ways to connect library cultural programs to other cultural institutions.

The opportunity provided for design method and strategy of community space for secondary school through the experience of public library and gallery, is the purpose of this paper. Community space is an important issue in school architecture as it seeks to revive the public area in educational building and to renew the open space as a multi-entertainment space. The latest works of school, however, which are evaluated as well reflected the reality of educational patterns, are still deficient in that communicational elements in school are underdeveloped and inadequate. The cases of this paper, which are grown up as entertainment library and multi-purpose cultural space such as Seattle Public Library, Sendai Mediatech, Tate Modem Gallery, and Kunsthaus, are suitable to offer the method of the creation of community space for school. This paper reviews an assessment of its success in community space for school architecture with multi-entertainment-purpose library and cultural space connected open space and concludes with the establishment of design method for future school; extraction of the factors contributing to development of community space in school and proposal of design method; implementation of school renewal with library and gallery plus open space for the creation of identity considering both of study and play.

This study is to propose the directions of LGBTQ Friendly Library policies based on LGBTQ's human rights. To accomplish this purpose, this study comparatively analyzed key concepts from UN UDHR, ALA LBR, and IFLA statements up to scholarly library-articles related to LGBTQ with the inductive approach for qualitative data analysis. The result suggests the 7 directions of the library services policy-making for LGBTQ in practice : 1) Recommendations on the enhancement of the LGBTQ's human rights and library obligations, 2) Enforcement of librarians' education and training on LGBTQ subject matters, 3) Convergency on the various LGBTQ's information needs and the enlargement of library collections, 4) Development of search instruments on LGBTQ, 5) Secure library moods and no-distinctive use of its accommodations, 6) Cooperation system with NGO on LGBTQ, 7) Care and support on children and young adults experienced with LGBTQ.

The goal of this study is to suggest various improvements and expanding strategies of the public library ecosystem. For this goal, researcher reviewed and analyzed the realistic landscapes and social recognitions about the public library ecosystem as local public goods, and discoursed the basic principles and structural terrain of public library ecosystem based on natural ecosystem. As a result, researcher proposed multifaceted alternatives (ensure library's identity and publicity applying Law of Karma, strengthen librarian's professionalism on the premise of overcoming the Minerva's syndrome, optimize the library service and collection management based on the Pareto principle, reduce reading room and differentiated program through resolution of Halo effect, eliminate usage bias by life cycle based on the Gauss distribution, acceptance of the digital paradigm and use-friendly spatialization that ruminates the Icarus paradox, incorporate small library into public library system through a clear understanding of the Gresham's law, and enforce communication and spread social and cultural value through the practice of the Pompeii paradox).

The purpose of this study Is to Investigate unique features in the everyday information behavior of Korean Americans, in particular, the sub-group residing in the Mid-west area such as Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Major focus was on undercovering the impacts of ethnic identity and residential environment on their information behavior. The data for discussion were mainly collected by a full-scale survey and in-depth interviews. In Conclusion, suggested is the promotion of information welfare policies that are appropriate for the various and complicate information behaviors of ethnic minority groups(such as Korean Americans).

A cDNA encoding desiccation-related protein was isolated from a flower bud cDNA library of Chinese cabbage (C-DH) and its nucleotide sequence was characterized. It contains 679 bp nucleotides with 501 bp open reading frame. The amino acid sequence of the putative protein showed the highest amino acid sequence homology (79 % identity) to dehydrin protein in Gossypium hirsutum. Also, the C-DH shares 48-52% amino acid sequence identity with the other typical dehydrin proteins in plant cells. When the amino acid sequence of their proteins were aligned, several peptide motifs were well conserved, of which function has to be solved. Particularly the C-DH contains 15 additional amino acids at its N-terminus. Genomic Southern blot analysis using the coding region of C-DH showed that the C-DH consists of a single copy gene in Chinese cabbage genome. The C-DH mRNA, whose transcript size is 0.7 kb, was expressed with a tissue-specific manner. It was highly expressed in seed, flower buds and low expression as detected in root, stem or leaf tissues of Chinese cabbage. And the transcript level of C-DH was significantly induced by the treatment of plant hormone, abscisic acid and water-deficit conditions.

This paper attempts to answer to the question of whether the information professional holds assertive culture enough to accomodate knowledge management paradigm in its current identity and future role. Observations of the current culture made by inside and outside the discipline of library and information science are first reviewed. Results from interviews with practicing academic librarians follow. Suggestions for further studies are provided in the conclusion.

This study alms to suggest a new personnel system(classification of public position) for librarianship in Korea. In order to achieve this goal, the five alternative plans are analysed with respect to the grounds of an argument, merits and demerits, and its realization. In conclusion, the 'record culture group' or record information group'(tentative name), that is, a single group brought together librarian, curator, and archivist is the best alternative to establish a professional identity and social status of librarian in Korea.

The books and circulation-related data in the Library Automation System(LAS) of C-academic library were collected and analyzed, and also the method which may be applied to the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) based on the results was suggested in this paper. Collected data were 269,387 bibliographic data of books, 12,281 patron data, and 39,269 circulation records. User identity, circulation frequencies, total number of circulated books, and publication year as relation factor from the analyzed data of circulation records were extracted. They were also analyzed, and verified by correlation coefficient.
