The present study develops an evaluation indicator for cultural value of library. First, a preliminary evaluation indicator was developed based on analysis of both domestic and foreign studies on the value of library. The preliminary evaluation indicator was used for three rounds of Delphi survey conducted by 10 experts for development of the final evaluation indicator. The final evaluation indicator consists of four evaluation areas community cultural development, succession - and promotion of cultural heritage, contribution to local residents' enjoyment of culture, and establishment of community culture and 10 evaluation items, and 50 specific evaluation indicators.

The purpose of this study is to develop evaluation index for school library in order to find ways to continue the improvement of school library by examining deficient areas and developing necessary areas, in which almost every school have libraries as a result of school library promotion project for last five years. To fulfill this, the research analyzed 2009 evaluation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism(MCST), policy research evaluation index of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology(MEST), BSC product index of school library from preceding research, school library evaluation standard of Korean Library Association (KLA), two-phased base plan and school library promotion law of school library promotion of the MEST and evaluation index of municipal/province education agency of MEST, and thereby developed 54 evaluation index from 8 areas. The research ultimately presents 48 evaluation index from 8 areas. Also, analysis result was first verified by school library experts to increase credibility of the evaluation standard of the research. Based on the result, second evaluation was done by school library faculty staff, and thus went through two-phased verification process.

This study was to investigate the usefulness of the measures of the Korean Public Library Operation Assessment. The analyzed data were collected through a fulfillment degree of the evaluation indicators and the opinions of librarians for public libraries evaluation indicators. Same time, the comparative analysis of public library statistical indicators and evaluation indicators was performed. Based on the results of the analysis, I was selected assessment items that need to delete and modify. The improvements proposed in this study will provide a direction for the improvement of the Korean Public Library Operation Assessment. And may be applied to improve the process of the public library evaluation.

This study is a nationwide survey of Korean public libraries to identify and analyze the usefulness of 69 evaluation indicators of a public library proposed by the authors in the previous paper. A random sample of respondents including library managers, librarians, and users rated the usefulness of each indicator in assessing the performance of a public library. The results of this study could be used as the basic data in the evaluation of public libraries by selecting appropriate indicators and giving weight on each indicator according to the specific evaluation purpose.

Recently, some universities and university libraries have implemented performance management system as a part of managerial innovation, and they have either implemented or are considering implementing BSC. Thus there are needs to develop performance indicator, which is a tool measuring performance of university libraries, based on BSC, and to assess the developed performance indicator's relative weights to analyze which indicators are essential to fulfill and improve the university library's mission. The performance indicators are also affected by the characteristics and perspectives of the people who develop them during the development process. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the differences among the professional groups in relative weighting of the performance indicator. The purposes of this study are to derive a university library performance indicator model based on BSC, to analyze the importance of each evaluation factor of the derived performance indicator model, and to analyze the differences among the professional groups in relative weighting of the performance indicator model.

This study was to propose an improvement direction in statistical indicators of public libraries to collect objective data from such libraries. This improvement direction was made by deriving from countable factors at the library. These were selected from various parts of the library sectors, such as the library-related laws, public library standard of our country, and statistical indicators of IFLA and other major countries. Also The these statistical indicator was compared to the current statistical indicator of public library in Korea. The results will be able to develop new draft of statistical indicator, which can be used in understanding the present situation of public libraries.

The 3rd Library Comprehensive Development Plan (2019-2023) of the Committee on Library and Information Policy under IFLA-UN 2030 Agenda emphasize the role of libraries in practicing social inclusion. At home and abroad, this is shedding new light on libraries as the public service institutions aimed at resolving information inequality. This study thus developed the information inequality measurement indicator optimized for libraries. For this purpose, FGI and Delphi technique were implemented as the verification stage of the expert group. As a result, the final indicators were derived in three evaluation areas, twelve evaluation items, and 30 evaluation indicators. Specifically, first, 3 evaluation items and 8 evaluation indicators were derived in the access evaluation area; second, 5 evaluation items and 12 evaluation indicators were derived in the competency evaluation area; and third, 4 evaluation items and 10 evaluation indicators were derived in the utilization evaluation area. This study is considered to be of great significance in that the information inequality measurement indicators optimized for libraries were developed, the first of its kind.

The purpose of this study is to develop the evaluation indicators of school libraries in Korea. To do this, the indicators were extracted from an analysis of seven foregoing studies. The draft of evaluation indicators was made after reviewing the validity of each indicator according to the criteria: quantifiability, objectivity and possibility of obtaining evaluation materials. The feasibility of the standards and measures used by the Committee on Library and Information Policy was examined to improve the validity of new indicators. To decide the distribution of marks for evaluations, the opinions of teacher librarians and professionals on the importance of indicators was surveyed, the evaluation indicators used by the Committee on Library and Information Policy were analyzed, and an intensive review was done by professionals. A draft of an evaluation index with thirty indicators in six categories is proposed.

The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation indicator of institutional repositories to be used by participating university libraries of dCollection. Based on the literature reviews of digital library evaluation, core evaluation measures and criteria were identified. In order to verify the applicability and appropriateness of those evaluation criteria for institutional repositories, two methods were employed: A case study with sixteen university libraries and a Delphi study with twenty university libraries. The results of both studies led the development of an evaluation model which consisted of four evaluation dimensions and 29 criteria. This evaluation model should be utilized as tools for objective assessment and guidelines for improving institutional repository services by universities libraries in which the dCollection is currently Implemented or the future plan of the dCollection is underway.
