In today's knowledge economy, various schemes are being devised in order to attain knowledge and understanding in the most effective ways possible. In an office environment, spatial concepts that encourage 'smart working' is becoming more prevalent; therefore allocating of space according to the types of work being performed, ways to maximise the work efficiency, and furniture arrangement to accelerate liaison among the users are being carefully considered. Especially in a space where its members are encouraged to communicate and collaborate, the furniture within that space need to be attractive and practical for its users, as well as efficient and effective for the firm the service is being provided for. In this study, we aim to offer furniture design service that satisfies such demands of the present time. Thus, instead of merely following a standard design process in which one approaches a project from design planes to an outcome, various aspects of the working environment will be considered such as the relationship between the space and the users, their needs, and the features of work being performed within the space. After attentive research and analysis, the results will be put into production from the user's point of view in mind. This study is intended to propose furniture design that embodies the characteristics of integrated working environment that can facilitate efficient use of the limited working space, productivity among the users, and promoting valuable corporate culture.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the bead shape on the crash performance of an aluminum crash box under a low-velocity impact condition. The initial peak load and impact energy absorption of a crash box with three types of bead shapes-edge concave, surface convex, and surface concave type-were studied through an FE analysis and an experiment. In addition, the effects of the bead shapes on the crash performance of the crash box were verified through a low-velocity-impact test with a front side member assembled with an aluminum crash box. The initial peak load of the surface-concave-type crash box was reduced by the bead, and therefore, deformation of the front side member at initial contact could be prevented. Furthermore, there was no deformation of the front side member after the impact test because the crash box with a surface-concave-type bead absorbed all the impact energy.

In regard to indoor air quality patterns, the government introduced various polices that were about managing and monitoring quality of indoor air as a major assignment, and also executed 'Indoor Air Quality Management Act' which was presented in the May, 2004. However, among the multi-usage facilities controlled by the Act, the school was not included yet. This study goal was to investigate PM 10 pollution patterns of the high school classrooms using a pattern recognition method based on cluster analysis and disjoint principal component analysis, and further to survey levels of inorganic elements in May, June, and September, 2004. A hierarchical clustering method was examined to obtain possible objects in pseudo homogeneous sample classes by transformation raw data and by applying various distance. Following the analysis, the disjoint principal component analysis was used to define homogeneous sample class after deleting outliers. Then three homogeneous Patterns were obtained as follows: the first class had been separated and objects in the class were considered to be sampled under semi-open condition. This class had high concentration of Ca, Fe, Mg, K, Al, and Na which are related with a soil and a chalk compounds. The second class was obtained in which objects were sampled while working air-conditioners and was identified low concentration of PM 10 and elements. Objects in the last class were assigned during rainy day. A chalk, soil element and various types of anthropogenic sources including combustions and industrial influenced the third class. This methodology was thought to be helpful enough to classify indoor air quality patterns and indoor environmental categories when controlling an indoor air quality.
This research has investigated the cyber university students' awareness of the portal service of the digital library. In order to identify characteristics of the cyber university students, the research examined demographic characteristics of the students and library usage status. Awareness on the portal service was also analyzed in accordance with the characteristics of the users. The analysis showed that the most needed service was concise/full search service, which was the most frequently used service. The students were most satisfied with the liaison service; service awareness of several libraries showed statistically significant results depending on age, occupation. Based on the analysis, the research proposed the following measures to increase the use of the digital library of cyber university students: active PR on library service, and intensifying the library user education.

The purpose of this study is Red Yeast Rice power is added to Roux, which is widely used as the liaison to make Brown Sauce, and the chemical and visual characteristics of the Brown Sauce made using the Red Yeast Rice power. Moisture content of Brown Sauce that included the Red Yeast Rice powder. Viscosity and turbidity of the Brown Sauce which included Red Yeast Rice powder. pH, Sugar value, and Reducing Sugar of the Brown Sauce which included Red Yeast Rice powder. The quantitative description analysis of the Brown Sauce showed that the strength of red color intensity, thickness, sour taste, bitter taste and grainess increased as the amount of the added powder increased, while the scorched flavor decreased. The overall result indicates that the addition of the Red Yeast Rice powder influenced the overall acceptability of the sauce, and it appeared that the 30% addition of the powder resulted in the optimal mechanical characteristics and enhancement of the acceptance of the sauce.
Ontake Volcano, Japan, began to erupt without any precursors on September 27, 2014, at 11:52 AM, and it caused many losses of life. Although Japan's preparation manual and prevention for volcanic eruptions and volcanic hazards has been well established, it could not prevent damage due to the sudden eruption of the volcano. Soon after the eruption, however, Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) led many organizations and institutions, including JMA's Volcanic Eruption Prediction Liaison Council, Meteorological Research Institute (MRI) and National Agriculture and Food Research Organization and they understood the eruption situation quickly and shared the information based on their close cooperation and contact systems. Through these efforts, JMA published the unified result to the public, informing the public of the situation around the volcano and about the eruption and of how the residents and climbers around the volcano should react to the volcanic hazards caused by the eruption. The Korean Government can learn how to respond to a future eruption of a volcano, such as Mt. Baekdu which has the potential to erupt in the foreseeable future.

Evaluation of the elevated temperature flow stress for thermoplastic fiber metal laminates(TFMLs) sheet, comprised of two aluminum sheets in the exterior layers and a self-reinforced polypropylene(SRPP) in the interior layer, was conducted. The flow stress as a function of temperature should be evaluated prior to the actual forming of these materials. The flow stress can be obtained experimentally by uniaxial tensile tests or analytically by deriving a flow stress model. However, the flow stress curve of TFMLs cannot be predicted properly by existing flow stress models because the deformation with temperature of these types of materials is different from that of a generic pure metallic material. Therefore, the flow stress model, which includes the effect of the temperature, should be carefully identified. In the current study, the flow stress of TFMLs were first predicted by using existing flow stress models such as Hollomon, Ludwik, and Johnson-Cook models. It is noted that these existing models could not effectively predict the flow stress. Flow stress models such as the modified Hollomon and modified Ludwik model were proposed with respect to temperatures of $23^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, $90^{\circ}C$, $120^{\circ}C$. Then the stress-strain curves, which were predicted using the proposed flow stress models, were compared to the stress-strain curves obtained from experiments. It is confirmed that the proposed flow stress models can predict properly the temperature dependent flow stress of TFMLs.
The purpose of the current study is to improve the clinching joint strength of aluminum and fiber metal laminates (FMLs) comprised of three layers. The joining of FML and Al 5052 by a conventional clinching joint has some disadvantages such as necking of the upper sheet, lack of interlocking, defects caused by the vertical load, and especially loss of strength of the composite material due to the low ductility. In the current study, a tapered-hole clinching method is proposed as an alternative for the joining of Al 5052 and FMLs. A hole with a tapered shape is formed before the joining process. The design parameters were evaluated using the Taguchi method for the geometry of the tapered hole in order to determine the maximum separation load. The diameter of the punch corner, clearance, punch stroke and the tapered length were used as the main variables in the Taguchi method. In conclusion, the contribution ratio for each of the fours variable examined was 35.07%, 22.44%, 21.32% and 14.11%, respectively. In addition, the appropriate combination of the design parameters can make a 5% improvement in the vertical direction joint strength.
In order to investigate the catalytic mechanism for the growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), a comprehensive study was conducted using carbon materials synthesized at 680 ${^{\circ}C}$ with a gas mixture of CO-H$_2$ after reduction at 800 ${^{\circ}C}$ by H$_2$ gas from iron oxide, and metal Pt. The resulting material was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD) after a variety of reaction times. The carbon materials synthesized by metal Pt were little affected by reaction time and the sintered particles did not form CNTs. Xray analysis revealed that metal Fe was completely converted to iron carbide (Fe$_3$C) without Fe peaks in the early stage. After 5 min, iron carbide (Fe$_3$C) and carbon (C) phases were observed at the beginning of CNTs growth. It was found that the intensity of the carbon(C) peak gradually increased with the continuous growth of CNTs as reaction time increases. It was also found that the catalyst of growth of CNTs was metal carbide.

In general, the flexible forming die that has been used in the flexible forming process has the identical punch size; hence, its flexibility is relatively low because the range of allowable curvature radii is limited due to the uniform punch tip radius. Hence, a conceptual design of a sectional flexible die is presented for enhancing the flexibility of the forming process. Two punches of different sizes are used to configure the arbitrary forming surface. For a forming region with a relatively large curvature radius, a large punch array block is used; on the other hand, for the forming regions with small curvature radii, a small punch block is used. The cross-sectional profiles are compared with the target shape for evaluating the effectiveness of the process. Consequently, it is confirmed that the sectional flexible die can be used along with a combination of punch blocks of different sizes for manufacturing objective surfaces of complex shapes.
