  • CDMA 셀룰러 시스템 내에서 고속이동체에 대한 비효율적인 채널할당으로 호 블록킹 확률이 높아진다. 이를 위하여 고속이동체의 속도에 따른 전용 채널과 큐를 할당하여 계층셀에 적용해 속도에 따른 QoS를 보장하는 방식이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 현재 위치한 셀에서의 이동체의 수신 신호세기에 따라 HA에 트래픽이 적을 때에 FA 내에 고속 핸드오프 전용 채널을 할당하였다 또한 FA 내 신호세기가 약한 고속 핸드오프 호에 대하여 새로운 환형 큐 LiFA를 생성하여 고속 핸드오프 호를 LiFA에 호 지속시간 동안 대기시켜 호 강제종료율을 개선하였다.

  • The KaiFangFa開方法 of traditional mathematics was completed in ${\ll}$JiuZhang SuanShu九章算術${\gg}$ originally, and further organized in Song宋 $Yu{\acute{a}}n$元 dinasities. The former is the ShiSuoKaiFangFa釋鎖開方法 using the coefficients of the polynomial expansion, and the latter is the ZengChengKaiFangFa增乘開方法 obtaining the solution only by some mechanical numerical manipulations. ${\ll}$SanHak JeongEui算學正義${\gg}$ basically used the latter and improved the estimate-value array by referring to the written-calculation in ${\ll}$ShuLi JingYun數理精蘊${\gg}$. As a result, ZengChengKaiFangFa was more refined so that the KaiFangFa algorithm is more consistent.

Cervical Cancer Gene Therapy by Gene Loaded PEG-PLA Nanomedicine

  • Background and Aims: Advances in the treatment of cervical cancer over the last decade have predominantly involved the development of genes directed at molecular targets. Gene therapy is recognized to be a novel method for the treatment of cervical cancer. Genes can be administered into target cells via nanocarriers. This study aimed to develop systemically administrable nano-vectors. Floate (Fa) containing gene loaded nanoparticles (NPs) could target HeLa human cervical cancer cells through combination with receptors on the cells to increase the nuclear uptake of genetic materials. Methods: Fa was linked onto Poly (ethylene glycol)-b-poly (D, L-lactide) (PEG-PLA) to form Fa-PEG-PLA, and the resulting material was used to load plasmids of enhanced green fluorescence protein (pEGFP) to obtain gene loaded nanoparticles (Fa-NPs/DNA). Physical-chemical characteristics, in vitro release and cytotoxicity of Fa-NPs/DNA were evaluated. The in vitro transfection efficiency of Fa-NPs/DNA was evaluated in HeLa cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). PEG-PLA without Fa was used to load pEGFP from NPs/DNA as a control. Results: Fa-NPs/DNA has a particle size of 183 nm and a gene loading quantity of 92%. After 72h of transfection, Fa-NPs/DNA displayed over 20% higher transfection efficiency than NPs/DNA and 40% higher than naked DNA in HeLa cells. However, in HUVECs, no significant difference appeared between Fa-NPs/DNA and NPs/DNA. Conclusions: Fa-PEG-PLA NPs could function as excellent materials for gene loading. This nano-approach could be used as tumor cell targeted medicine for the treatment of cervical cancer.

KaiFangShu in SanHak JeongEui

  • This paper is a sequel to the paper [8], where we discussed the connection between ShiShou KaiFangFa originated from JiuZhang SuanShu and ZengCheng KaiFangFa. Investigating KaiFangShu in a Chosun mathemtics book, SanHak JeongEui and ShuLi JingYun, we show that its authors, Nam ByungGil and Lee SangHyuk clearly understood the connection and gave examples to show that the KaiFangShu in the latter is not exact. We also show that Chosun mathematicians were very much selective when they brought in Chinese mathematics.

Effects of a functional fatty acid blend on growth performance, intestinal morphology, and serum profiles in weaned piglets

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to determine whether dietary supplementation with a functional fatty acid blend (FA) that contains 31.4% butyric acid and 4.99% medium-chain FA improve growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immunity status, and anti-inflammatory ability in weaned piglets. Methods: One hundred and forty-four healthy piglets (Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire) with an average body weight (BW) of 7.98±3.43 kg were randomly divided into three groups with six replicate pens and eight piglets per pen: Normal control (NC): a corn-soybean basal diet; FA1: a basal diet supplemented with 1,000 mg/kg of a functional FA; FA2: a basal diet supplemented with 2,000 mg/kg of a functional FA. The experiment lasted for 28 d. On d 14 and 28, one piglet in each pen from NC and FA2 groups was randomly selected for antioxidative index and immunoglobulins. On d 28, one piglet in each pen from NC and FA2 groups was randomly selected for intestinal morphology and inflammatory factor. Results: We observed that FA supplementation linearly increased (p<0.05) average daily gain and the final BW. There was higher (p<0.05) catalase on d 14, and immunoglobulin (Ig) A and IgM on d 28 in piglets supplemented with FA2 than in the NC group. Moreover, dietary FA2 reduced (p<0.05) crypt depth of ileum in piglets. The concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-8, and IL-10 in jejunum were lower (p<0.05) in the FA2 group compared with the NC group. Conclusion: Therefore, the overall results suggests that the FA may help to improve gut health, antioxidant status, and immune parameters resulting in the improvement of growth performance.

Changes in the Expression of Ras-family Genes in Rats Exposed to Formaldehyde by Inhalation

  • Exposure to formaldehyde(FA) is closely associated with adverse health effects such as irritation, inflammation, and squamous cell carcinomas of the nasal cavities. Owing to its rapid metabolism and elimination, exposure to FA does not always result in an increased concentration in blood or urine of animals and humans. Therefore, the development of biomarkers for FA exposure is necessary for risk assessment. In the present study, the effects of FA were investigated on the expression of genes involved in the MAPK pathway in vitro and results confirmed in rats exposed to FA by inhalation. Treatment of Hs 680.Tr human tracheal epithelial cells with FA induced gene expression for PDGFA, TNFSF11, SHC1, and HRAS. HRAS expression was also increased in tracheas of rats exposed to FA. In addition, FA exposure induced the expression of RASSF4, a member of the Rasassociation domain family of Ras effectors, in rat tracheas. In conclusion, data showed FA-inducible expression of genes involved in the MAPK pathway occurred and increased expression of HRAS and RASSF4 was noted in rat tracheas subchronically exposed to FA by inhalation. These genes may serve as molecular targets of FA toxicity facilitating the understanding of the toxic mechanism.

선박용 흡수식 냉동기의 냉매적용 냉각 시스템 성능 분석 (Performance analysis of a cooling system with refrigerant in a marine absorption refrigerator)

  • 최근 조선사들은 선박이 운항되는 연안 환경의 개선과 보호를 위하여 $CO_2$를 절감할 수 있는 친환경 선박과 함께 선박 운항 중 소비하는 에너지의 절감을 위한 고효율화 선박 개발의 노력도 활발하게 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전기로 구동되는 선박의 증기압축식 냉동기 대신에 선박 엔진 자켓수의 폐열을 이용하여 냉방을 할 수 있는 흡수식 냉동기의 적용 가능성과 냉각시스템에 냉매를 적용하는 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 해수와 열교환하여 액화될 수 있는 냉매들 중 R236fa가 가장 적합한 냉매로 분석되었으며, 이를 적용한 흡수식 냉동기의 COP는 0.798로 육상의 냉각탑을 이용한 수랭식보다 15% 그리고 해수 열교환기식 수랭식보다 5% 향상되었다. 냉동능력 1RT를 얻기 위한 LiBr 흡수용액 순환량은 0.013 kg/s로 수랭식 보다 25% 이상 감소하며, 냉각 매체 순환량도 수랭식의 15.7%에 불과한 매우 효과적인 냉동기가 되었다. 해수온도가 $18^{\circ}C$ 이하로 낮으면 발생하게 되는 LiBr의 결정화는 재생기에서 배출되는 엔진 자켓수의 온도를 이용하여 해수 온도를 상승시킴으로써 방지할 수 있다.

서목답문의 분류체계에 관한 연구 (A study on the classification systems of the Shu-mu Da-wen)

  • The results of the study can be summarized as follows. The Shu-mu Da-wen was selected and compiled by Zhang Zhi Dong at the end of Qing Dynasty as a reading list for students preparing for the state examination and for the purpose of choosing the best from several versions. Whether it was compiled and edited by Zhang was in dispute. But it is almost certain that Zhang was the main editor because Shu-mu Da-wen showed his political, educational and scientific thoughts and knowledge distinctively. The followings are characteristics of Shu-mu Da-wen being compared with Si-ku Quan-shu Zong-mu Ti-yao. 1. In Jing-bu, the Confucian classics are divided into Zheng-jing Zheng-zhu and 'Lie-chao Jing-zhu Jing-shuo Jing-ben kao-zheng. Zheng-shi lei is divided into Zheng-shi fen he ke ben and Zheng-shi zhu bu biao pu kao-zheng. It is the special sorting method to include Du-ben lei in Jing-bu and Chu xue du-ben in Bie-lu in order to provide first learners for reading order. 2. Shi-bu included Gu-shi newly and Di-li lei is divided into Gu Di-li and Jin di-li in Shi-bu. Tian-wen Suan-fa lei is divided into Zhong-fa and Xi-fa in Zi-bu. Zhang distinguished between old books and contemporary ones to find out the origin and include newly published books in the East and the West. 3. Zhou-Qin zhu-zi is newly added to Zi-pu. In Ji-pu, Bie-ji and Zong-ji are categorized according to their style and period respectively. This show the new sorting method which added classifying system concerning academic development. It is the prominent feature in the compiling system to make Bie-lu and Cong-shu respective chapters. With those characteristics the Shu-mu Da-wen had been edited and published several times. It had a wide effect not only on compiling methods of cataloging afterwards and but also on classification systems before decimal classification was introduced in China.

  • 중국 산학에서 방정식 풀이 방법은 고법(古法)과 구장산술(九章算術)의 개방술(開方術), 개입방술(開立方術)을 시작으로 가헌(賈憲)의 개방석쇄법(開方釋鎖法)을 걸쳐 증승개방법(增乘開方法)으로 완성된다. 본 논문에서는 이 방법들을 알아보고 조선의 산학자들이 그들의 산서에서 사용한 해법을 연구한다.
