Classification of Asthma Disease Using Thoracic Data (흉부음 데이터를 이용한 천식 질환 판별)

  • In this paper, we make a study of classification normal from abnormal - normal, asthma through analysis of thoracic sound to take use thoracic sound detection system. Thoracic sound detection system has a function to store thoracic sound and analyze the data. The wave shape of thoracic sound is similar to noise and is systematically generated by inhalation and exhalation breathing, therefore, in this paper, to classify asthma sound in thoracic sound, we could discriminate between normal and abnormal case using level crossing rate(LCR) and spectrogram energy rate.

  • The change of land use such as the construction of way in mountainous area and tunnel leads to the quantitative change of the greenhouse gas. This study tried to clarify the effect of the change of land use around Miryang Ice Valley on thermal environment of micro-meteorological scale by numerical experiment. We carried out several numerical experiment under different atmospheric conditions with different amount of greenhouse gases. Heating rate increased by the greenhouse gas in the ground level is average of 0.0073 K/day. And the increasing rate if smaller than the daily average heat crossing quantity.

A Study on the Implementation of Baseband Channel Simulator for Mobile Communications (이동통신용 기저대역 채널 시뮬레이터의 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the mobile communication CH simulator is implemented in the baseband, using the Digital Signal Processor(TMS320C25), A/D and D/A converters. The Rayleigh CH is modeled by shaping the random noise source power spectrum. The statistical characteristics(Level Crossing Rate, Cumulative distribution Function, Probability Density Function) and the received fading signal's power's spectrum is observed when the doppler frequency is varied according to the variation of the vehicular velocity at the 222MHz band. And also the BER is measured when the baseband mobile CH simulator is applied to the GMSK(Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying` transmission rate: 16kbps, Bb T=0.25) modulator. The results shows the similar characteristics to be compared with the theoritically derived BER values of the discriminator type GMSK detection.

  • This paper presents an electrical power monitoring system for home energy management and an automatic appliance-identification algorithm based on the electricity-usage patterns collected during the monitoring tests. This paper also discusses the results of the field tests of which the proposed system was voluntarily deployed at 13 homes. The proposed monitoring system periodically measures the amount of power consumption of each appliance with a pre-specified time interval and effectively displays the essential information provided by the monitored data which is required users to know in order to save power consumption. Regarding the field tests of the monitoring system, the households responded that the system was useful in saving electricity and especially the electricity-usage patterns per appliances. They also considered that the predicted amount of the monthly power consumption was effective. The proposed appliance-identification algorithm uses 4 patterns: Zero-Crossing Rate(ZC), Variation of On State(VO), Slope of On State(SO) and Duty Cycle(DC), which are applied over the 2 hour interval with 25% of it on state, and it yielded 82.1% of success rate in identifying 5 kinds of appliances: refrigerator, TV, electric rice-cooker, kimchi-refrigerator and washing machine.

  • Medical treatment for animals is very difficult as the opinions of pets' masters take priority over treatment regardless of the seriousness of pets' disease or the needs of medical treatment. In case that a pet has heart disease, especially, it is difficult to get the direct answer from the pet's master on the decision or confirmation of treatment. For those reasons, it is almost impossible to predict and treat the pet before an emergency like the heart failure or an unexpected death happens. Using stethoscope can be the first diagnosis method to check the heart or any kinds of disease inside the body. High-tech equipments like CT, X-ray or Ultrasound can be used, but they can only be used as a second choice of diagnosis method since it requires professional skills and its high price. That's why stethoscope is still the best diagnostic tool when one makes the first diagnosis. In this study, we give a detailed account of digital diagnosis system in which veterinarians can analyze the sound from stethoscope without bringing it to their ears and make a diagnosis wherever they are. And we suggest a new concept of diagnosis system surrounding, which shows the relativeness of disease through Level Crossing Rate(LCR) and energy level from the stethoscope sound made in this system.

Characteristics Analysis of the Time Selective Multipath Fading Channel Model for Mobile Communication (이동 통신을 위한 시간선택성 다중경로 페이딩 채널 모델의 특성 평가)

  • 본 논문에서는 시간 선택성 다중경로 이동 무선 채널을 다양한 방법으로 모델링 하고 그에 따른 여러 가지 특성평가를 제시하였다. 모델링 방법에는 Jakes 방식과 시간 영역에서 독립적인 두 개의 가우시안 잡음 발생기와 정형필터(shaping filter)를 사용하는 방식 및 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 있다. 이 세 가지 모델링 방법의 성능을 진폭의 자기상관함수, 상호상관함수, 누적분포함수(Cumulative Distribution Function), 레벨 교차율(Level Crossing Rate), 평균 페이딩 지속 시간(Average Duration of Fades), 위상차의 확률 밀도, 위상차의 자기상관함수 등의 측면에서 시뮬레이션하고 그 결과치와 이론치 간의 특성 비교를 제시하였다. 특히, 확산 대역 시스템을 고려했을 때 이상적인 채널 추정을 가정한 레이크 수신기에서의 BER 성능을 다중경로 개수에 따라 보임으로써 여러 가지 채널 모델링 중에서 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 이동 무선 채널을 모델링 하는데 있어 가장 적합하다는 것을 보였다. 마지막으로 비대칭 도플러(Doppler) 스펙트럼을 모델링 하는 것도 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 편리하다.

  • As accident rate have been reduced into half since 2005, no train accident fatality occurred in recent year. Level crossing accident also been reduced that no more than 5 fatalities occurred every year. As a result 98% of accident fatalities occurred in station and track. So railway station safety measures are more and more important but only few research have been done on railway station safety. In this study status on safety measures on railway stations are reviewed and basic research have been done based on expert interview for the development of new safety measures.

  • 이 논문은 최근에 개발된 실시간 음성부 검출 알고리즘[1]을 TMS320C30 System board와 IBM PC486을 이용한 implementation에 관한 논문이다. 음성부 검출 알고리즘은 Energy와 LCR(Level Crossing Rate)를 이용하여 각 frame을 음성/묵음으로 분류하는 방법을 사용하였고 DSP 보드를 사용하여 한 frame이 입력되면 다음 frame이 입력되기 전에 그 frame에 대한 음성/묵음 분류를 하여 음성입력이 끝남과 동시에 음성이라고 판단되는 부분만을 DPS moemory상에 저장하므로 불필요한 memory의 낭비를 중이고 다음 단계의 음성처리를 위한 시간을 절약하였다. 이 알고리즘의 성능 평가를 위하여 Rabiner와 Sambur의 알고리즘과 한민수의 알고리즘과를 전문가가 수작업으로 찾아낸 결과와 비교 평가하였다. 알고리즘의 오차는 평균 남성 4.925ms, 여성 5.85ms로 1 frame 이내의 오차를 보였다.

  • A new channel simulation method for the urban mobile radio communication is proposed based on the Aulin's mathematical model which is suitable for urban areas. The proposed method maintains advantage of Jakes Method which is readily implemented in hardware and simulated well various channel states, and solves the problem that measured power spectrum generated by Jakes method does not agree with practical power spectrum. It has been shown by simulation; that good agreements between measured values generated by the proposed method and theoretical values for autocorrelation, LCR, ADF and power spectrum are obtained and that method can easily produce several independent fading signals.

  • Narrowband and wideband characterizations of radio propagation channels in tunnel environments are investigated by using ray tracing techniques. For a rectangular straight tunnel and a rectangular curved tunnel, received power is simulated when the receiver moves away from the transmitter. The fast fading statistics of the narrowband propagation are analyzed in terms of cumulative distribution function, level crossing rate and average fade duration. The tunnel wideband radio propagation channel is characterized in terms of mean excess delay and rms delay spread.
