  • In the recent WTO/DDA negotiations, discussions are progressing to forbid fishery subsidies which have negative effect on the natural environment and the fishery resources and to lower or to eliminate the tariff/non-tariff barriers that distort trade liberalization. As a result, linking to the weak structural environment of Korea's fishing villages; such a scheme has jeopardized the livelihood of fishermen who settle down in local fishing harbors. Against this backdrop, the government is attempting to positively respond to changes in the fishing environment in a number of different ways: promotion of fishing tourism, fishing harbor reinforcement in function, developing fishing villages, and harbors. With respect to investment by priority in fishing harbor development, it is very important to appropriately select investment targets based on objective criteria. A small number of harbors are chosen and investment plans by harbor are systematically devised, economic feasibility and the effects of investment are analyzed and reviewed in relation to each target harbor. This paper is designed to review and assess objective evaluation methods and the degree of importance for the designation of target harbors, dealing with local harbors in Chung Nam Do as a model. Each local government has tried to reorganize existing harbors and develop new harbors, considering a fall in the number of fishing vessels and the expansion of maritime leisure activities. In order to overcome the limit of existing harbors in function, to raise the income of fishermen, and to activate tourism, they have shifted their focus from simple functions such as vessel evacuation and anchoring to harbor beautification, which can work as a basis for fishing tourism. This paper points out that the AHP analysis method for prioritizing local harbors in Chung Nam Do should help to be chosen target harbors in other cities and provinces. • The exterior color of the building reflects its style. With the advancement of the 'Village Art' project in South Korea, many villages have gradually developed into tourist attractions. Therefore, it is also important to distinguish between residents' lifestyles and tourist needs through architectural color design. This article first investigates the literature and analyzes the use function of the building and the role of the exterior color in the villages. Secondly, the four types of buildings in Huinnyeoul Culture Village: residential, commercial, leisure, and public toilets are investigated as the research objects. Analyze through the KSCA color measurement analysis system and questionnaire survey, and propose a color plan for the exterior of the building. Research results: First, the main color area of the outer wall of the residential building should be the largest, with a tendency of high brightness and low saturation. Second, small buildings with high chroma in the recreation area can be used as visual guidance.Third, the buildings in the commercial area are mainly of high brightness, high chroma, and multi-hue. Fourth, the main color of the bathroom is the main color of the residential area and the leisure area, which can provide a sense of visual stability.

  • Agricultural Technology Center is an education center to provide agriculturalists with information and technology related with agriculture. As domestic and international environment of agriculture and rural area is changing, functions and roles of Agricultural Technology Center are evolving according to stream of times. In 1995, a new urban and rural complex city was created for symbiotic relationship between city and rural area, As a result, user group of Agricultural Technology Center expanded to nonagriculturalists. Though the change of agricultural extension service is necessary to perform extended functions of rural area and to satisfy needs of new group of users, it is difficult to find enough studies on new functions and roles of Agricultural Technology Center to manage the service change. Therefore, this study is aimed to suggest new functions and roles of Agricultural Technology Center according to stream of times. This study were surveyed through questionnaire targeting users of Namyangju Agricultural Technology Center to compare user group awareness of Agricultural Technology Center in urban and rural complex city. According to this study result, while main purpose of agriculturalists' visiting at Agricultural Technology Center was participating in education programs related with agriculture. In contrast, nonagriculturalists usually visited the center for agricultural understanding, leisure activities, and children education, participating in field work programs. From the survey result of required functions of the center, it was revealed that nonagriculturalists expected urban agriculture, research for living improvement in rural area, adjustment education for returning farmer, and function of farming promotion, comparing agriculturalists. It is verified that this difference of user group awareness reflects the necessity that Agricultural Technology Center should change services and accept increasing use of nonagriculturalists with new functions and roles.

  • Peripheral nerve injuries are a commonly encountered clinical problem and often result in a chronic pain and severe functional deficits. The expression of c-Fos is sometimes used as a marker of increased neuronal activity. We have prepared the aqueous extract of amygdalin from Armeniacae semen for pain control. In the present study, we investigated the effects of amygdalin on the recovery rate of the locomotor function and on the expression of c-Fos in the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray (vlPAG) region following sciatic crushed nerve injury in rats. Walking track analysis for the evaluation of functional recovery and immunohistochemistry for the c-Fos expression were used in this study. In the present results, characteristic gait change with dropping of the sciatic function index (SFI) was observed and c-Fos expression in the vlPAG was suppressed following sciatic crushed nerve injury in rats. Amygdalin enhanced SFI value and restored c-Fos expression in the vlPAG to the control value. The present our study indicated that amygdalin activates neurons in the vlPAG, and it facilitates functional recovery following peripheral nerve injury.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of immune function and respiratory system on aerobic exercise of 75 %HRmax intensity in an exposed acute hypobaric hypoxic environment. The subjects were 20 male college students, 10 of which were soccer players (19.6${\pm}$0.8 yr, BMI 22.3${\pm}$1.0, V02max 56.5${\pm}$4.8 mljkgjmin) and 10 general students (22.2${\pm}$2.3 yr, BMI 22.7${\pm}$2.1, $VO_{2max}$ 50.5${\pm}$6.6 ml/kg/min). Items of measurement after exercise on level and high altitude were $O_{2}$, $CO_{2}$, ventilation (VE), respiratory frequency, respiratory quotient, RBC, MCV, MCH, MCHC, Hb, Hct, reticulocyte, WBC, neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, basophil, and immunoglobulin (IgA, IgD, IgG, IgM). As the result of the verifying hypothesis, these results may suggest three new findings: first, to produce hypoxic ventilatory depression not only at level land but also at 3,000 m high altitude during 30 minute aerobics exercise of 75 %HRmax intensity, second to be more excellent for soccer players in adaptation and sensibility on response of respiratory system at high altitude, and third, to change each other by regular exercise habits or altitude in the monocyte.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different types of exercise training on ẞ-Amyloid, Brain-Derived Nerurotrophic Factor(BDNF) and cognitive function in mice with Diabetes Mellitus Group(DM.G). 24 male C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned to the control (C.G. n = 6) and Diabetes Mellitus Group(DM.G. n = 18) groups. After the Diabetes Mellitus induction period, the DM group was subdivided into DM.G. + sedentary (DM.G., n = 6), DM.G. + endurance exercise (A.G, n = 6), and DM.G. + resistance exercise (R.G., n = 6). The A.G. and R.G performed treadmill and ladder climbing exercises 5 times per week for 8 weeks, respectively. After 8 weeks the results are as follows: ẞ-Amyloid showed higher levels of DM.G. than in A.G., R.G., and C.G., but was not statistically significant(p>.05). BDNF was significantly lower in DM.G. than in C.G., A.G., and R.G.(p <0.05). The Y-maze task performance for cognitive function was significantly lower in DM.G. than in C.G., A.G., and R.G.(p <0.05). These results predict that diabetes can negatively affect ẞ-Amyloid, BDNF and cognitive function. It can also be predicted that low-intensity exercise can positively improve ẞ-Amyloid, BDNF and cognitive function regardless of the type of exercise.

  • Cisplatin is widely known as an anti-cancer drug. However, the effects of cisplatin on mitochondrial function and autophagy-related proteins levels in the skeletal muscle are unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different doses of cisplatin on mitochondrial function and autophagy-related protein levels in the skeletal muscle of rats. Eight-week-old male Wistar rats (n = 24) were assigned to one of three groups; the first group was administered a saline placebo (CON, n = 10), and the second and third groups were given 0.1 mg/kg body weight (BW) (n = 6), and 0.5 mg/kg BW (n = 8) of cisplatin, respectively. The group that had been administered 0.5 mg cisplatin exhibited a reduced BW, skeletal muscle tissue weight, and mitochondrial function and upregulated levels of autophagy-related proteins, including LC3II, Beclin 1, and BNIP3. Moreover, this group had a high LC3 II/I ratio in the skeletal muscle; i.e., the administration of a high dose of cisplatin decreased the muscle mass and mitochondrial function and increased the levels of autophagy-related proteins. These results, thus, suggest that reducing mitochondrial dysfunction and autophagy pathways may be important for preventing skeletal muscle atrophy following cisplatin administration.
