  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between cyber leisure activity and autonomic function in high school students. Methods: The subjects of this study were 242 second graders at high school located in D city. The research design was descriptive correlation study. Data were collected from August 26 to September 17, 2010, using a cyber leisure questionnaire and heart rate variability (SA-6000, Medicore, Korea) for autonomic function. Results: Total time for the cyber leisure activity was $391.3{\pm}262.0$ (min/week). Time for internet usage and computer game was $234.5{\pm}140.1$ (min/week) and $156.8{\pm}164.3$ (min/week), respectively. There were significant positive correlation between total cyber leisure time and sympathetic activity (r=.247, $p$ <.001). Conclusion: Excessive cyber leisure activity could increase sympathetic activities in high school students. Thus, nursing intervention to reduce the total cyber leisure time will be helpful to improve their neurophysiological status.

To measure the value of life satisfaction, the scale of life satisfaction for the elderly which is developed by Choi (1986) is used. The self-esteem was measured by the scale developed by Rosenberg (1965) and translated by Jeon (1974). The data were analyzed by SPSS including frequency, ANOVA, Duncan, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Result: There was significant relationship among leisure activity and life satisfaction (r= .410, p= .000), leisure activity and self-esteem (r= .432, p= .000) and life satisfaction and self-esteem (r= .765, p= .000). After testing how leisure activity has effect on the self-esteem, it appears to be 17.9% and after adding life satisfaction it increases to be 59.5%. Conclusion: Synthesizing all following results, there were needed to bepersonal and global effort in many ways to satisfy the economical need of the elderly, and more supports onincreasing participation of the elderly in leisure.

  • This study identifies the relationships among demographic variables, well-being health consciousness, sports/leisure activity, and the perceived premium price for high functional sports/leisure wear. An empirical study was conducted with the data collected by questionnaires distributed to male and female respondents aged 15 and over. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, MANOVA, two-way ANOVA, and regressions were used to analyze 244 answers. As a result, 3 factors were determined for well-being health consciousness: nature-friendly life, premium consumption for health, and health care. The older group pursued a nature-friendly life more than the younger group, the female group pursued premium consumption for health more than male group, and older women and younger men pursued health care more than their counterparts. Sports/leisure activity was relatively intensive in the male group and in the younger group. Sports/leisure activity was explained by male characteristic and health care factors. Sports/leisure activity was the only element for predicting the perceived premium price ratio for high functional sports/leisure wear.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of leisure barriers on participation type of leisure activities in disabled in Korea. The raw data variable of '2014 Disabled People Status Survey' were categorized as internal/external barriers and leisure type. The type of participation in leisure activities according to general characteristics was performed descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted to examine the correlation and causal relationships of types of internal/external constraints and leisure activity participation. The element that effects on a level of current passive leisure activity type, it resulted as two variables of internal barriers, three variables of external barriers, the explanation ability was analysed as to 48%. it resulted as two variables of internal barriers, five variables of external barriers in active leisure activity, five variables of external barriers, the explanation ability was analysed as to 29%. Therefore, based on various constraints of disabled people in Korea, a plan should be prepared to encourage participation of leisure activity, and systematic review and detailed study on two academic subjects related to leisure and disability should be done.

  • The 5 day workweek has become widespread, and more recently, the 40 hour workweek is planned to be implemented to the Korean industry by the government by 2012. It is possible that in the future, we may begin to complain about too much leisure, rather than too much work. There is a need then, for types options in leisure activity, brought about by personal choices and interests. The use of leisure time is a very personal matter. It is deeply related to types with the quality of life. Bagozzi (1981) developed a model discerning among attitude, intention and activity, that attitude affects behavioral intention, and behavioral intention affects activity. So, as behavioral activity has a deep relationship to behavioral intention, participation intention according to leisure types leads to participation in leisure activity. Sports activity and hobby and cultural activity appear to have high participation and it seems that this is reflected in behavioral attitude. Among the types of leisure satisfaction, sport activity satisfaction is associated with a more positive attitude to leisure than other types. With respect to background variables for attitude toward leisure according to leisure satisfaction, the biggest differences in attitude toward leisure were associated with sports activity.

  • This study aims to examine the effectiveness of leisure activity on learning agility and to verify the mediative effectiveness of interpersonal relationship between leisure activity and learning agility for youths. To achieve these purpose, 6,637 data that sampled by 'IEA ICCS 2016' were analyzed with structural equation. The results of study were as follow. First, leisure activity directly effects on learning agility for youths. Second, leisure activity directly effects on interpersonal relationship. Third, interpersonal relationship directly effects on learning agility and partial mediative effects between leisure activity and learning agility. These results implies that youths' leisure activity is not only directly affecting learning agility, but also affecting interpersonal relationship. And this interpersonal relationship also effects learning agility. Based on these results, some practical implications were proposed to develop learning agility in terms of leisure activity and interpersonal relationship.

  • This study approached the leisure with the step of life cycle, analyzing the process of leisure career and leisure development in individual life. The leisure life cycle leads the other related studies by examining the concepts of continuity, change, leisure socialization, and leisure career. It also analyzes the patterns and the structures of the use of life time, using '2004 Time Use Survey' from the Korea National Statistical Office. As a result, this study suggests new 3 steps of leisure life cycle: participating and expanding stages, selective and concentrating stage, and continuing and absorbed stage. These steps set up the goal of leisure program by the periods. They also can help setting the direction of leisure activities, and can be used as basic data that can make up the leisure activity program models step by step. Moreover, the development of model can be used as valuable information to draw up the plans that can prepare for aging society and demand the support of policy.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between leisure competence, leisure flow, and leisure satisfaction of university students participating in leisure activity. The subjects were selected by stratified cluster random sampling method. They were composed of 308 students who had been leisure activity participating in university students. The Leisure competence(Ahn, 2005), Leisure flow(Lee, 2006), Leisure satisfaction(Ahn, 2009) were used for collecting data. In consequence of exploratory factor analysis, 3sub-factors(leisure competence), 5sub-factors(leisure flow), and 5sub-factor(leisure satisfaction were found. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient were .726~.850, .537~.887, .764~.943 respectively. For the statistical analysis, SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0 were utilized. The relationship between research variables were examined by the frequency, explore factor, reliability, corelation, structural equation modeling analysis. The significance level of all test was p<.05. The findings were as follows: First, leisure competence did have a positive influence on leisure flow. Second, leisure competence didn't have influence on leisure satisfaction. Final, leisure flow did have positive influence on leisure satisfactions.
