The purposes of this study were to analyze the types of leisure activities and level of leisure satisfaction with practice of a five-day workweek, and examined the relationship between leisure satisfaction and job satisfaction. The data were based on the questionnaire with 264 working employee residing in Seoul. The results indicated that the most frequently participating activities were sports, use of media, loaming activities in order. And there were no significant differences in types of leisure activities between 5 day working employees and 6 day working employees. Secondly, general level of leisure satisfaction was the highest when participating religious activities. Thirdly, it was found that only social satisfaction was positively related to job satisfaction, and social satisfaction influenced job satisfaction. Further discussions and implications were discussed.

A leisure culture in the modern society is the measure of a value in one's life and has a symbolic meaning which reflects the aspect of a society where an individual belongs to. Therefore, the leisure is not a simple pleasure but has an critical meaning of expressing the culture of a country. In particular, the theme park leads the public amusement in the modern society using the cutting-edge equipments on a large scale in the postmodernism society being lead by the public. Nonetheless, Korea imports the theme parks of the same type as the Disney land of the Western Europe so that Korea depends on the foreign country in the leisure field. Therefore, in this study, the basic property of the theme park is investigated and the issues of Korean theme park will be revealed through the comparison of Korean theme park to foreign theme parks. In order to solve these issues, it points out that the concept of Korean traditional leisure space has inclusive and upgraded characteristics with many meanings, compared with the concept of the leisure space of foreign countries. . Based on this, the new concept of Korean theme park's space will be proposed. Specially, it is empathized that Korean own originality and credit should be preserved and Korean traditions should be succeeded.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has significantly impacted various facets of individuals' lives, including perceptions, leisure activities, work-family balance, and overall life satisfaction. This study aims to explore the intricate relationships among changes in perceptions due to COVID-19, leisure activity satisfaction, work-family conflict, and life satisfaction of married working women. Employing path analysis, we examined a dataset of 1,973 married working women drawn from the 8th Korean Women and Families Panel Survey. The findings indicate that while changes in perception associated with COVID-19 did not directly affect leisure activity satisfaction and life satisfaction, they did significantly decrease work-family conflict, indirectly leading to heightened life satisfaction. Additionally, leisure activity satisfaction emerged as a mitigating factor for work-family conflict, contributing to enhanced life satisfaction. These results emphasize the importance of understanding the interplay between external factors, individual perceptions, and well-being, offering insights for devising tailored strategies. The study holds significance in guiding policies and interventions to enhance the quality of life for married working women in the context of evolving pandemic challenges.

The design trend of leisure boat has been developed through interrelation of maritime culture and ships. We studied the design trend of leisure boat of several countries with advanced maritime culture and proposed digital design process of electric boat exterior that could reflect sensibilities of Korean customers. The result could be useful to domestic small and medium-scale shipbuilders currently face global financial recession and new challenge to focus on development of eco-friendly leisure ships.

The purpose of this study is to develop the Leisure Obsession Scale and examine the validity of the scale. The Leisure Obsession Scale was developed and identified its validity by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation analysis. The Leisure Obsession Scale consists of two factors, which are 'Leisure Preoccupation' and 'Leisure Stereotype'. Those two factors indicated the reasonable fit index by confirmatory factor analysis. In addition, this scale displayed discriminant validity via measurement of obsession, workaholism, leisure anxiety, and leisure constraint. Also, the results of criterion validation analysis shows that the Leisure Obsession Scale and its subscale are correlated with measure of age, leisure information searching, intention of participation to new leisure activities, and intention of increase in leisure time. Conceptualizing leisure obsession and exploring components of leisure obsession would be valuable for understanding the nature of leisure obsession and its effects on leisure satisfaction, and suggesting more effective psychological intervention in a diverse population.

The purpose of this study is to estimate the expenditure determinants of the leisure goods consumption market. In order to achieve the research purpose, 6597 samples of household trend survey data were used. Tobit model was applied to estimate expenditure determinants. As a result of analysis, expenditure determinants for sporting goods were influenced by marital status, education level, age, number of households, housing ownership and income level. The variables influencing spending on leisure items such as mountain climbing, fishing and hunting items were influenced by gender, marital status, education level, age, number of households, housing ownership and income level. The analysis results can be used as policy data for the establishment of leisure culture. The National Statistical Office's household trend survey is a yearly survey through a nationwide survey, but despite the fact that it is reliable data, it is not possible to apply various variables such as psychological characteristics to estimate consumer expenditure determinants more concretely. As Korean society was changed from the traditional into the modern and once again is transforming into high modern society, meanings of leisure also are changing. However there were not many researches on changes of the two and even those were rarely found that leisure studies are based on theories in Korean academic context. The study provides changes of meanings of leisure from the theory of civilizing process and a detailed and critical examination of crises of Korean national identities in globalising society. As such reminds us that at a time changing structure of psyche and society delivers a new approach to our evaluation and appreciation of leisure. During the modernizing of Korean society work was a top priority and leisure could not take any priority over all other social institutions. However in a globalising world leisure has been taking as a vital sources of Korean dynamics.

This study was attempted in order to understand leisure phenomenon in Korea cultural area through relation of Leisure Activity, Leisure participation motivation, self -efficacy and Subjective well-being. The purpose of this study was to investigate the question that Leisure Phenomenon was studied focus on specific Leisure activity contents such as physical, tour science, though it is an important subject to explore as psychological and cultural. Also it suggested that what was the problem of established studies and what was the directions for future study. Concrete study problem was assumed three issues. (1)General state of leisure activity and leisure motivation in Korea, (2)The correlated relation between each motivation and self-efficacy and (3)The correlated relation between each motivation and Subjective well-being?. Through this, we conducted three results. Frist, the leisure motivation scale was factor analyzed and consequently 2 factors which can be considered as leisure motivation were prescribed. Also through the responded data, leisure activity of university students showed much more passive activity(e.g.,reading, listening music, movie, watching TV, Internet surfing etc.) than positive and physically activity. Second, each motivation was not significant in self-efficacy. Finally, among the motivation, especially emotion and psychological rest motivation was significant in the subjective wellbeing. These findings imply that general understanding about leisure phenomenon can different as the cultural thinking of leisure activity and leisure motivation.

The purpose of this study is to examine gender equity in the quantity and flow experience of leisure time of urban dual-earner couples having preschool children. The quantity of leisure time is measured by primary activity and the flow experience of leisure time is measured by primary and secondary activities. The data collected by Korean National Statistical Office in 2004 is used. The sample for this study consists of 255 couples, and the statistical methods are frequency, percentage, paired t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The following is a summary of the major findings. The first, the pattern of the leisure time was different between husbands and wives. The quantity of leisure time of husbands was longer than that of wives. The husbands spent more time to perform social activities, media contact, sports and outdoor activities, while women did more in religious activities. The second, husband's leisure flow experience was higher than that of wives. The pure leisure time of wives was shorter than that of husbands and wives experienced more contaminated leisure time by a secondary activity. In other words, wives's leisure is more likely to be interrupted, to involve episodes of shorter duration, and to be associated with personal care and unpaid work.

The purposes of this study are to examine the participation of leisure activities for elementary school children and to analyze the children's and their mother's perception about their leisure activities. The data for the analysis are collected by the structured questionnaire and in-depth interview, The data for 106 children and their mothers living in Incheon city are analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The result of this study is summarized as follows: First, the most frequent leisure activities participated by children were hobby and culture activities such as attending institutes or receiving private tutoring. The most prefer leisure activities of children were computer related activities, watching TV and playing with friends According to the in-depth interview, these activities contributed to getting rid of stress and relaxing tension. Second, among the various activities, children tented to perceive computer related activities, roller-binding, paper folding, reading and watching TV as the leisure activities. There was no significant difference in the perception of leisure activities between mother and children except paper folding and reading. Third, the 55.7% of mother responded that the leisure activities that they were participated in childhood were more desirable compared with their children's ones.
