A study on the interworking between IPv4 network and IPv6 (IPv4 네트워크와 IPv6 네트워크 간의 연동)

  • In this paper, we consider the interworking methods for Internet layer 3 protocols. The legacy protocol for Internet is IPv4(IP version 4). The ability of IPv4 is not enough for modern real time multimedia communication services. So IPv6(IP version 6) protocol was suggested to resolve the problems of IPv4. 6Bones(IPv6 Backbones) have also constructed from 1996 in many countries. The 6Bones should be interoperatable to the legacy internet. To support all data services including voice and video, IP protocol should be enhanced because the characteristics of modern network services are requiring QoS(Quality of Service) functions, plug and play, security, mobility and so on. So a new IP protocol, IPv6, has been developing to meet the requirements. In this paper, some migration methods for internets are described. We first describe the protocol compatibility problems and suggest some solutions and scenario to solve the problems.

Performance of Prioritized Service Discipline Based on Hop Count for Optical Burst Switched Networks

  • In this paper, we propose a new prioritized Optical Burst Switching (OBS) protocol based on a hop count, which can provide efficient utilization in optical networks. Under several legacy schemes, a switch drops the burst with the shortest time regardless of its traversed hop count. As a result, a dropped burst that have been traversed many hops might cause increased bandwidth waste compared to one that has traversed a few hops. To improve this problem, we propose the Just Enough Time (JET) with a hop counting scheme which can reduce the wasted bandwidth by prioritizing the burst traversed many hops over others. From the simulation result, it is preyed, we show that the proposed scheme has advantages against legacy schemes in terms of the burst blocking probability and the link utilization.

  • In this paper. I design and implement The Internet Messaging System(XML/EDI System), that is able to transform to user requested format as registering mapping script even though it was transferred any formatted message. Also, This system is able to easily migrate the existed Legacy System(ERP, MIS. etc). As basic service. I implement message sending message receiving, message retrieval, and mapping in Client system. And I support EDI, XML. DB. HTML that is selected among various message format.

  • 기술발전에 따른 서비스 패러다임의 변화 및 기존 Legacy PBX 시스템의 단종 추세와 IP-PBX 시스템에 대한 기업 고객 수요가 증가하고 있다. 통신사업자는 기업대상 전화시장의 기술동향과 다양한 고객 Needs 대응상품 마련을 통한 가입자기반 확대 및 기업 IP전화 시장 선점을 위한 적극적인 대응방안이 필요하다. 기업별 구축되던 이에 Legacy PBX 기반의 기업용 전화시스템 대신 통신국사에 설치하여 IP 기반의 전화서비스 및 전화 부가서비스를 제공하는 통신사업자용 기업용 IPT 시스템 서비스 방안에 관하여 고찰해본다.

  • UPnP Bridge supporting diverse network interface has to meet standard requirements in order to be connected with legacy devices. It is able to provide or bridge a service description and device description according to a specification because IEEE1394 and USB have this standard requirements. But it is difficult to know whether it RS232C supports only serial communication and packet transfer. It need a document for the standard definition of communication protocol on UPnP device having such interface. By doing so, this document can understand device and packet type. This paper defines MFD(Message Field Description) and makes UPnP message converter. So it will be base to standardize supporting variable legacy device.

Efficient Congestion Control for Interworking between 5G-System and LTE

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient congestion control scheme for interworking between 5GS(5G system) and LTE(Long-Term Evolution), called ECC(Efficient Congestion Control). The proposed congestion control scheme (ECC) is considered for coexistence of 5GS and legacy LTE systems and provides a prompt service connectivity based on overriding method while the backoff timer is running in the UE. Also, we briefly introduce Rel-15 5GS from a congestion control perspective and the proposed ECC and simulation results for the existing legacy congestion control mechanism and ECC in the 5GS-LTE coexisting environment are presented. Lastly, the improvement direction is considered in future 3GPP 5GS phase 2 standard in this paper.

  • In the paper, we propose a design method and process of a hybrid V2X communication module that combines WAVE communication, LTE-V2X communication, and legacy LTE communication in evaluating vehicle V2X electromagnetic compatibility. C-ITS is suitable for safety service applications due to its low latency, and legacy LTE is suitable for applications such as traffic information and infotainment due to its high latency and high capacity. In order to evaluate the V2X communication system, the evaluation equipment must have communication performance of the same level or higher. The main design contents presented in this paper will be applied to the implementation of a hybrid V2X communication module for electromagnetic compatibility evaluation.

An Architecture for Home-Oriented IPTV Service Platform on Residential Gateway

  • In order for end-users in home networks to receive opportunities for useful services that go beyond legacy Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) services, this paper proposes a service platform that resides on the residential gateway (RG) for interworking between the home network and IPTV. This proposed service platform is called the home-oriented IPTV service platform (HISP) on the RG (HISP-RG). The proposed HISP-RG provides open architecture and functionalities to enable 3rd party IPTV service providers to locally and directly deliver home-oriented IPTV services to end-users in home networks. The HISP-RG can be an "add-on" and not a "built-in" solution for the existing standard RG. This paper introduces several home-oriented IPTV services that can be executed and delivered locally through the HISP-RG. Then, the open architecture and functionalities of the HISP-RG are defined and their requirements are specified. Finally, use cases of the HISP-RG for home-oriented IPTV services are presented.

  • This paper describes a IPv6 trial service provided by LG DACOM and discusses about the output of trial service. MIC has urged public organizations to introduce IPv6 technology into their network. As one of propelling policies, MIC and NIA launched some IPv6 trial project. LG DACOM, MIC's agent in doing IPv6 trial project, has selected three public organizations in order to deploy IPv6 based VoIP trial service. KMA, KISITI and MND gave out their different service requirements. In achieve this project we developed IPv6 supported voice IP phone, video IP phone, media gateway and IP-PBX. Furthermore, two KMA provincial offices adopted trial IP phone as working phone and replaced legacy PBX with IP-PBX. At the same time, public organizations introduced IPv6 technology into their local networks.

  • Recently, RFID technology is being widely embraced in the supply chain, by manufacturers, retailers, and logistics firms. This study shows the RFID system to provide location based service for commercial vehicle by integrating tracking function of GPS with Mobile service. For this, we configured PC-based terminal for vehicle and developed application consisted of RFID and GPS manager program. In web service module which uses mobile service, commodity information acquired from each vehicle at real-time is added at database and it is analyzed in various aspects to support management decision through the Legacy system.
