엉덩관절 강화 운동이 운동선수의 근력, 동적자세조절 및 하체 손상 준거에 미치는 영향 (Effects of hip joint strengthening on muscle strength, Y-balance and low extremity injury criterion in athletics)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 6주간의 엉덩관절 강화 훈련이 근력, 동적 자세 조절 및 하체 손상 준거에 미치는 영향을 보고자 하였다. 운동선수 20명을 운동군과 통제군으로 분류하여, 운동군은 주 3회, 60분, 6주간 엉덩관절 강화훈련을 하였다. 이 연구의 측정 변인은 유연성, 근력, 동적 자세 조절 및 하체 부상 준거로 하였다. 연구 결과 유연성에서 운동의 효과가 유의하지 않았으나 배근력에서는 유의하였다. 동적 자세조절 결과, 좌·우 후방 가쪽 및 안쪽에서 운동의 효과가 유의하였다. 또한 종합점수에서도 운동의 효과가 유의하였고, 좌·우 다리 간의 차이는 없었다. 결론적으로 엉덩관절 강화 운동은 근력과 동적 자세 조절 능력의 증가와 하체 손상의 우려는 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다.

심부 안정성이 부족한 대상자에게 외부적 지지가 엉덩관절 벌림근의 근력과 근활성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effectiveness of the External Support on the Strength and Muscle Activity of Hip Abductor in Subject Without Core Stability)

  • Background: Gluteus medius muscle is important for the stability of hip joint. The sufficient core stability can be contributed to the performance of gluteus medius muscle in standing position. In addition, the external support may affect core stability in standing position. Objects: The purpose of this study was to investigated the effectiveness of the external support on the strength and muscle activity of hip abductor muscle during hip abduction in standing position in subjects without core stability. Methods: Fifteen subjects participated in this study. The subjects were evaluated by using the double-leg lowering with bent knees to measure the core stability. The strength and muscle activity of hip abductors was measured in standing position with the condition with and without external support using the tensiometer sensor and the surface electromyography. The paired t-test was used to investigate the difference between hip abductor strength and activity according to external support. The level of statistical significance was set at α = 0.05. Results: The hip abductor strength and muscle activity of gluteus medius muscle with external support were significantly greater than those without external support during hip abduction in standing position (p < 0.05). Conclusion: During hip abduction in standing position, the external support may be contributed to the improvement of the hip abductor strength and muscle activity of gluteus medius especially in the subjects without core stability.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to influence the muscle strength of an serratus anterior, deltoid and triceps brachii depending on the left or right leg lifting during push up in the crawling position. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: 20 subjects participated in the study, Subjects perform 10 Push-up holding the right-left leg lifting in the crawling position according to the EMG sound that comes out every 3 seconds. Six muscles were measured in the right and left deltoid, triceps brachii and serratus anterior. Results: There was no significantly different in deltoid and triceps brachii activity in the lifted position compared to the unlifted position, but there was significantly difference in serratus anterior. Conclusion: In the crawling position, push up with the leg lifting increased the muscle activity of the serratus anterior Serratus anterior was higher than other muscle activity.

요가와 필라테스 트레이닝이 비만 남자대학생의 비만도, 신체 부위별 근육량 및 체력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Yoga and Pilates Training on Obesity Indexes, muscle mass in each body part and Physical Fitness in Male College Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 요가와 필라테스 트레이닝이 비만 남자대학생의 비만도, 신체 부위별 근육량 및 체력에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 운동처방의 임상적 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 피험자는 비만 남자대학생 총 20명을 각각 10명씩 요가와 필라테스 두 집단으로 무선할당하여 12주간 주 5회 1회당 90분씩 트레이닝을 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 요가와 필라테스는 모두 비만도(골격근량 증가, BMI 감소, 체지방률 감소, WHR 감소), 신체 부위별 근육량(오른팔, 왼팔, 몸통, 오른다리, 왼다리 근육량 증가), 체력(하지근력, 근지구력, 유연성, 좌측평형성, 우측평형성 향상)에 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 둘째, 필라테스는 요가보다 골격근량 증가, 신체 부위별(오른팔, 왼팔, 몸통, 오른다리, 왼다리)근육량 증가, 평형성 (좌, 우) 향상에 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 셋째, 요가는 필라테스 보다 BMI, 체지방률, WHR 감소에 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과로 요가와 필라테스 트레이닝은 비만 남자대학생들의 비만도 개선과 건강증진에 유용한 운동프로그램으로 적용 가능하다고 사료되어진다.

노인의 운동능력이 IADL에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Motor Ability of Elderly on IADL)

  • Motor ability were hypothesized to be major factors that may have an influence on IADL(instrumental activities of daily living). The purpose of this study was to investi gate the effect of motor ability of elderly on IADL. This study consisted of forty eight elder male and ninety elder female. The subjects were selected from L, S, Y-institution in kyoung ki do. The average age of elder male and female was 73.81, 71.38 years. The data were analyzed with t-test, repeated measurement, correlation test, regression test, using SPSS PC+ and MINITAB program. The measurement item of motor ability was muscle strength(left, right- grip strength), flexibility(sitting trunk flexion, trunk extension, leg raising while in a standing position), agility(whole body reaction test, standing up), power(sargent jump), balance (stork stand). IADL was measured with Philadelphia Geriatric Center IADL. The result of this study were the following : 1. The factor of significant difference of between elder male and female was muscle strength, flexibility, power but no significant difference was agility, balance. 2. Between IADL of elder male and female was no significant difference. 3. Correlation of IADL and Motor ability of elder male had effect on muscle strength and power, agility. Correlation of Body composition and Motor ability of elder female had effect on muscle strength and power, agility. As a result of this study, optimal motor ability of elder male and female had improved IADL. In addition to, this result of this study, it can suggested the consideration of the Health promotion program for elderly.

가상현실 운동프로그램이 파킨슨병 환자의 균형 및 하지 근력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Virtual Reality Training Program on Balance and Lower Muscular Strength of Parkinson's Disease Patients)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of a training program using virtual reality on the balance and lower muscular strength of Parkinson's disease patients. Methods: The study included 22 patients with Parkinson's disease who were arbitrarily classified into 2 groups: 11 patients in the experimental group and 11 patients in the control group. Balance was measured with the Berg balance scale (BBS), the functional reach test (FRT), one-leg stance test (OLST), and the timed up and go test (TUG); whereas, lower muscular strength was measured with the sit-to-stand test (STS). Ping-Pong, bowling, and tennis were selected for virtual reality training for the experimental group, and were performed for 30 minutes 3 times a week for 8 weeks. The control group did not undergo any of the virtual reality training programs. Results: A significant difference was observed in the BBS, FRT, OLST, TUG, and STS results within the experimental group that underwent the virtual reality training program. On the other hand, no significant difference was observed in the BBS, FRT, OLST, TUG, and STS values within the control groups. Conclusion: In conclusion, the virtual reality training program positively affects the balance and lower muscular strength in Parkinson's disease patients. This result indicates the possibility of application of the virtual reality training program to the management for Parkinson's disease patients, and highlights the need for the development and application of more efficient virtual reality training programs in the future.

Effect of Nordic Walking on Depression and Physical Function in the Elderly with High-Risk of Depression

  • PURPOSE: This study examined the effects of Nordic walking on depression and the physical function of elderly patients with a high risk of depression. METHODS: This study was a blinded randomized allocation study; 32 elderly were assigned to a Nordic walking group (n = 17), consisting of 60 min Nordic walking (including warming up 5 min, warming down 5 min, and Nordic walking 50 min) two days per week for 12 weeks and general leisure group (n = 15), consisting of 60 min leisure program community center. The pre and post 12-week program, depression test, muscle strength (including grip test, and 30sec sit to stand), and balance (including Functional Reach test, and One Leg Standing test) were measured. A Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare within the group, and a Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare between the groups. RESULTS: After 12 weeks, only the Nordic walking group showed significant improvement in depression, muscle strength, and balance (p < .05). In the general leisure group, however, the left grip strength and Functional Reach Test (FRT) showed a significant decrease. The Nordic walking program was better than the general leisure group, and a significant difference was observed in depression, muscle strength, and balance between the two groups (p < .05). CONCLUSION: Nordic walking was effective for the elderly with a high risk of depression. Therefore, Nordic walking may be an option for preventing elderly mental disorders and functional improvement.

좌골신경가동화기법이 만성 요통 환자의 통증과 슬관절 신전근력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Sciatic Nerve Mobilization Technique on Perceived Pain and Knee Strength in Patient With Chronic Low Back Pain)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sciatic nerve mobilization technique on perceived pain, straight leg raise test (SLR), and strength of knee extensor, location of symptoms (LOS) in patients with chronic low back pain. 22 patients with chronic low back pain were recruited for this study. The subjects were randomly assigned to either the experimental group (EG) or the control group (CG), with 11 patients in each group. All patients received a routine physical therapy (hot pack and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation). The mobilization technique of the sciatic nerve was performed for 10 min in the case of the EG subjects. Outcome measurements included the level of the perceived pain, SLR, and strength of the knee extensor, LOS. The measurements were recorded 3 times: before the intervention, after the intervention, and at 1 hour of follow up. The two groups did not significantly differ with regard to the level of perceived pain, SLR, and strength of the knee extensor, LOS before the test (p>.05). In the case of the EG subjects, all the variables measured after the intervention significantly differed from those measured before the intervention (p<.05). However, in the case of the CG subjects, a significant difference was noted only with regard to the level of perceived pain (p<.05). The findings indicate that sciatic nerve mobilization technique exerts a positive effect on the control of subjective symptoms and knee strength in patients with chronic low back pain. Further studies are required to generalize the result of this study.

단기간의 스트레칭형근력체조가 자동차 생산 작업자의 건강관련체력과 통증자각도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Short-term Stretching Type of Muscular Strength Gymnastics on Health-related Fitness and Rating of Perceived Pain for for Automotive Industry Worker)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of short-tenn stretching type of muscular strength gymnastics on health-related fitness and rating of perceived pain for automotive industry workers. The subjects selected were 27, who were divided into 3 groups(A group=10, B group=9, C group=8). Group A performed a short-term stretching Type of Muscular Strength Gymnastics only one time. Group B continuously performed the exercise program two times. Group C was a control group. The exercise program was a stretching Type of Muscular Strength Gymnastics, which was performed 3 times per week for 4 weeks. Its intensity was RPE 11-15. Data analysis was conducted by using SPSS ver 14.0. The test was conducted with two-way repeated ANOVA, post-hoc Ducan and paired t-test (a<.05). This study showed the following results. Muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility increased in all intra and between groups. Ratio of %fat decreased for group B but the control group presented conversely. Rating of perceived pain of group A decreased at arm and hands. Rating of perceived pain of group A decreased at back and leg.

발목관절 각도에 따른 무릎 폄근의 등속성 근력 평가 (Assessment of Isokinetic Muscle Strength in the Knee Extensor Through the Ankle Joint Angles)

  • Purpose:This study was designed to investigate difference in isokinetic muscle strength in the knee extensor muscle and characteristic differences in muscle strength between males and females through the ankle joint angles. Methods: Seventy-four subjects participated in this study. There were two groups: 36 males and 38 females. The mean age of the men was 24.58 years and women was 23.74 years. Subjects were seated on a CON-TREX LP (leg press) lean to back of chair, and there bodies were fixed by straps with the hip joint at an angle of $130^{\circ}$. After randomly fixing the ankle joint at $0^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, and $40^{\circ}$ of plantar flexion (PF) in range of full extension of knee joint. We studied force max average, force max average/kg, power average, and total work through the angle of the ankle joint when the knee joint was extended from $90^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$. Results: In the male group, all maximum measured value showed at the ankle joint $0^{\circ}$, all minimum measured value showed at $40^{\circ}$ PF (p<0.01). In the female group, all maximum measured value showed at the ankle joint $20^{\circ}$ PF, especially the power average increased significantly. All minimum measured value showed $40^{\circ}$ PF (p<0.01). Conclusion: There are differences between males and females in isokinetic muscle strength of the knee extensor through ankle joint angles in healthy adults. Males and Females have different characteristics of muscle strength through the ankle joint angles.
